You saved the dayyyy❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ thank you SO much! I tried putting my line into the back there and it immediately flushed water from around the connection and I was soooo close to going to my plumbing store not knowing the solution and buying nonsense I didn’t need. I really paid attention to every word you said, took mine apart, put Vaseline on the tube and put the blue clip on FIRST - BEFORE putting the line in (I was putting the blue secure clip on after inserting the water line tube before) and pushed and pushed until I heard a small similar click to what I heard in yours- voila! Beautifully beautifully done!!!! I’m so grateful and just in time for Christmas for this mama ❤😂thank you so much I mean it
Only an hour ago I had a leaking pipe while my plant was on. I saw a few videos, but only yours made sense to me. I removed the pipe, cut the end and fixed it, and it was done. As simple as ABC. Thanks a lot and love from Karachi, pakistan. You saved me time and money.
When mine started leaking I thought "uh oh, i'll bet i can't find a youtube video on how to fix this. Had no idea how that fitting worked. Fixed! Thank you so much.
My RO system has been leaking since 2015. I got a smart refrigerator and in watching videos on how to run water to it I happened to see this video. Quite the miracle. I fix it by myself! Very well done video thank you again.
Thank you, sir for sharing the knowledge. I didn't know how to remove pipe from the body. This vedio was extremely helpful for me, for replacing the new pipe.
Thanks for putting out the video. A couple of comments come to mind. One is that I don't think it makes much sense to put the clip on the collet before inserting the tube. Surely, that makes it harder and may also scrape the tube. Best to put the clip after the tube is properly in, since the purpose of the clip is to ensure the collet stays tight on the tube. Also, if I am not mistaken I think I saw a burr created when you cut the tube, which if there should be removed before inserting the tube through the Oring as that could damage the Oring.
Hello Henry, very helpful video, which aided in stopping a leak I had, particularly the removal of the portion of the previously used pipe. One addition, I found that because of space constraints the pipe I was using was pushing into the fitting and was not straight. By straightening the pipe and pulling back on it to seat the lock, the leakage can be stopped.
Outstanding! You saved me on this one. I was replacing the filters on my RO system for the first time. Everything was replaced and things were leaking and I couldn't get the stupid hoses undone and.... well, things were bad. Thanks for posting this!
Nice, thanks, Henry. Fixed my leak. Spent over 3 hours trying to figure it out. Can’t believe the grooves were the problem. Thought I just needed a new, square cut but wasn’t cutting enough off enough tubing to create a good crimp inside the female end.
You make it look so easy. My copper pipe will not come out of that white plastic piece. It only came off on one end, even with using my buck knife. Looks like I'll have to cut the copper pipe off of it.
I've been having occasional leaks in my ro filter system, even leading to some minor flooding under my sink and I had no notion about how these fittings work. Thank you for the complete & simple explanation of the mechanism and solution of the problem!
Do not use these fittings! They are called "Sharkbite" and they are NOT reusable and NOT intended for pressure! They are for air application, because only that single o-ring seals and its easily ruptured! Use Jacko instead!
Thank you! I had this exact fitting start leaking. Took apart cut pipe straight used some petroleum jelly, and presto all fixed, thank thank thank you!,,
Nice video breaking down the parts however you should try to use a water based soluble lubricant such as KY jelly not a petroleum based lubricant as it will deteriorate the plastic hose
Jon V. ✓DO NOT USE PETROLIUM JELLY! In time it will dissolve the O-ring first. Anything petroleum based such as O-ring, wetsuits to asphalt will be changed by introducing petroleum jelly. I use silicone grease. It will lubricate an O-ring without deteriorating it.
@@ukulelelolo2175 Can't use coconut oil because it eventually goes rancid. You should use a silicone grease for all rubber parts that you want to last for 10+ years.
Good video ...trying to do what you advise is bloody awkward when under the kitchen sink...which will mean taking the lot out...repairing it, then sticking back under the sink again....then pray it does not leak again..
3:33 should probably use a special cut-off tool made for that, I'm pretty sure they make them. This reminds me using Shark Bite fittings on copper pipe, the cut on the pipe needs to be perfect and they sell a special cutter for that purpose, if not perfect, it will leak.
Used this to troubleshoot an under sink filter. I took out the piece with teeth and shined a flashlight in the hole (it’s connected to the filter housing) and the o-ring was dislodged and sideways preventing the tube from going all the way in.
WHere do you get the little clips.. are they available at hardware stores or can I order.. thats my only puzzle..been working on this dang filter for two weeks trying to get the pipes fitted... always leak... thanks in advance!! life saver!
I noticed that my fitting doesn't have a clip between the housing and the crimping device. Is it necessary or does it depend on the device which is being used?
Thank you for this video! I do have question. I did fixed one of my water lines using your instructions but my red line that is coming from the main into the housing Of system is leaking still. I cut the hose and insert it again but still licks a little. I did pulled back to make sure is locked but I still see the small leak. What should i do. Are there parts in Home Depot that I can use to repair it (anyone ?) I am thinking that it might be the o ring/ seal that needs to re replaced. I will be making a run to see if I can find these parts, will update post. Thank you
You just saved me the pain of the return of my reverse osmosis system, Thanks alot!

Thanks Henry for the easy to follow and understand video. Have this exact problem after moving bladder tank around.
Excellent advice. I just fixed my leaks on my new filter system with your help.
Thankyou so much for your help. My RO's pipe leaked and I fixed it easily after watching this video.
Thanks..Saved my day... and a service request call for a simple leak fix!!
Simple fix helped me trouble shoot a replacement install - you were a life saver (and saved my weekend!).
Nice video you saved me a bunch of money simple fix. Great job.
Still helping people in 2024. Thank you!

THANKS SO MUCH! YOU HELPED ME FIX MY FILTER! 🙌♥️
Thanks a bunch. Was able to get it apart. Oddly enough the unit had a crack that is causing the leak. MacGyver time.

it doesnt matter, its not in contact with the fluids

Thanks, saved me from calling the service.

Awesome help. Thank you
Awesome 😎
Thank you
"Poes it in there" 🤣 3:40
Would this work on air lines too? Like on semi trucks?
I’m having problems right now with my water filter, where I can buy rubber seal or small grommet?
ur video very helpful, thank you very much 👍👍👍👍

Thank you 8 years later ,,.. :-)
Good information thank you sir
Nice video thanks
Thank you! This solved my problem perfectly! Good job!
Thanks for sharing
What size tubing is that 3/8”. ?
Lowe’s and Home Depot use Shark Bite brand versions which do not use those additional blue clips. What do you think of those?
thanx this works for me
Pleasure. It is very satisfying when you see you help somebody to solve a problem.
Thank you. I didn't know to lock it first then insert the tube. why isn't that on the instructions?!
Henry I tried that still leaking what else can I try thanks mate?
Nice 😊👍
thanks. I. didn't kno to cut it after every time, minez was leaking and it was driving me bonkers lol
You don't put the hose in then reclip it?
The clip is important. It helps with the keeping of the pipe in a manner that it would not leak.
My leaking hose did not have a clip but it came in a kit to run water to the smart refrigerator. It had an extra clip in the kit.
WHere do you get the little clips.. are they available at hardware stores or can I order.. thats my only puzzle..been working on this dang filter for two weeks trying to get the pipes fitted... always leak... thanks in advance!! life saver!
thanks. that was helpful.
Very very nice
great tip sir..thank u!!
Thank you
Great vlog
where can I buy these fitting ?
I noticed that my fitting doesn't have a clip between the housing and the crimping device. Is it necessary or does it depend on the device which is being used?
I had one leaking L shaped fitting. I just swapped rubber sealing ring and it is fixed.
Thank you 🙂

New O-ring seals should do the trick
I use silicone grease (o-ring lubricant) which is easier on the rubber seal.
Tq soooo muchhh!!!
Thank you :)
I put vasoline on the pipe and the water had oil in it. I would follow his advice overall but skip the vasoline
Helped me!
Mine started leaking without anybody touching it or jostling it at all. I don't even know why.
Thanks
Brilliant!
Thanks mate...
