  • How to solve the eternal buffering @ 25% After updating to netflix 2.18 vids would buffer then reboot the ps3 when closing the app. This is how to downgrade till Netflix fixes the problem.

    Thanks for this. I haven't tried it yet but I will if I see the 25% stall error again. I called Netflix and he said he had never heard of it rebooting the PS3. Glad I am not alone because I thought my PS3 was dying. This issue has been happening for a while but recently much more often. I use an Apple Airport Extreme router. The only thing I hadn't tried was restart my router. I even thought WiFi was an issue so connected via an ethernet port and that didn't solve it either.
    I had tried pretty much everything else including starting netflix with the Start and Select buttons and doing that reset option, deleting apps and cache and reinstalling so your solution is the only one I haven't tried yet. The good news is after I restarted my router from the Airport Utility on my Mac Netflix has been playing for 30 minutes so far without the 25% stall error. So one other tip for people is to also try restarting your router. It it crashes again I will try and post here again and let people know if the router restart works long term or not.

    This solved my problem. At least temporarily. I had also tried everything and at first I thought it was just Star Trek TNG that wouldn't play but soon discovered that nothing would. What was weird is that I had updated much earlier and had never encountered this issue until now. Thanks. :)

    Jist of the video
    Uninstall netflix
    Go to gamesave data and delete netflix
    Reinstall netflix
    Hit OK to install newest netflix update but than immediately hit cancel to prevent it from updating.
    There ya go.

    Thank you sir! Had a friend with this issue n fixed cause of your video. I had this issue for about 4 days on Roku Streaming Stick. I removed the channel and added it back. Signed in again and it was fine.

    Just got ultrafast fibre broadband to my property and subscribed to Netflix and get the same think on a 7 year old Sony Bravia tv using 2014 Netflix version - so in 2021 and they still haven't fixed the problem. Thanks for your video.

    If the ps3 reboot is happening it's not a network problem. I had tried resetting. router ipconfig release and renew, rebuilt file system and database on ps3, tried restarting with start and select, deleting netflix and cache, none of them work if you allow it to reupdate to 2.18

    I had the same problem and fixed it by changing my modem settings for URL FILTER. I deactivated "Block surfing by IP Address" and this allowed buffering to go past 25%.

      video this isn't to just reload the show you're watching, its for when
      the ps3 app locks up while buffering and forces a reboot. That is not
      what you are experiencing.

    On ps3 I just hit circle and come out of what I'm watching. Then I select what I'm watching again it loads to 25 percent again. But if you give it 30 seconds it resumes again. Maybe an instant answer if your in a rush to resume what your watching.
