You gotta get out there & live somewhere good & not too Testosterone Boy & have a pass. Vail gets good snow & has good terrain, but I'd rather have a pass at Mount Bachelor any day. Powder the next day there. Vail? LOLOLOLOL nooooo.
Good riding sir. I just came from a dig out rescue vid, so I appreciate the smart speed checks especially. Bad speed checks are how you get in trouble... and yet speed is mostly how you stay out of it. It's a conundrum. I'd probably get a board about 8cm longer if I were you though. That's like, what, a 154 or 6? I like(d) a 164 stiff all-terrain for powder. Stiff not for the pow but for the inevitable chop that comes after at Colorado areas. Even Wolf Creek. All areas really. The length is less for those conditions & more for Wolf Creek/Snowbird/Tahoe/Lizard Head monster dumps.
Except he's going faster. It only looks slower because it's easier & he's on medium terrain as opposed to the hero terrain you usually see.. If bro was on a bigger board it would be faster still. I don't recall ever being outpaced through the trees except by exceptional skiiers on specialized powder skis. the snowboard is the proper tool for the job if not for getting TO the job. And if you're very unlucky, FROM the job. I had a bag slog across the flats at Powder Mountain in UT one time.
I've never been to Keystone. Looks like my kind of area. I travelled more or was in the Four Corners at Wolf Creek (walking the ridge for days of powder) or Purgatory (groomer days. Whole joint is a giant snowpark. Catch 100 feet of air on almost any slope if that's your thing.) Keystone looks a little like Fernie or Targhee from that vid. Great areas.
Hello, I would like to ask you for help in choosing a snowboard. I choose a snowboard between nidecker beta apx vs k2 excavator. My height is 1.78 cm and weight is 104 kg (230 lbs) boots size 43 eu, Both snowboards would be 1.62 cm long, due to my weight. Therefore, I want to ask which one is better for powder and tree.
I live in Chicago and come out once a year to get some real skiing in and these are my favorite runs at keystone! I have had one good powder day like this and it was a day I won't forget! I can't come out this year so thank you for sharing this!
Great to see ride vids. Wish you posted more! Miss the three amigos vids from back in your Whistler days. None of you put enough mountain content out nowadays! More please!!!
You can find this almost all the time between North Peak and the Outback if you know where to go. It's a totally untouched area but easy to spot from some of the lifts back there
wow a bit late on this one eh? I'm still using the Smatree carbon s2c telescoping pole (not the s3c, it has an annoying extension thats an additional piece). Hope you're doing well man, miss ya
Yo yo, I have off mon, Tuesdays and wednesdays if you ever want an extra hand at filling. Been riding since 96 and keystone is my favorite place. I have full epic and a volunteer copper pass. Lmk G!
Nice tree runs man watching jealously from UK..had last 2 trips to hintertux and solden cancelled due to Austria lockdown now opening but off to Bansko bulgaria sat the 15 th I hope ,Tony Croft
Sucks that we don't get pow like that in the alps. And we don't get those easy to navigate forests either... God I gotta get back to NA one of these years.
Torn between the twinpig and a Bataleon magic carpet. Heard some great things about both but the magic carpet has an extruded base now which I’ve heard sucks. Any input for someone looking for a do it all /powder twin ?
@@thedude5510 I am, my only issue with it is it’s a $600 board that has an extruded base. Even though bataelon says it’s “the best on the market” I’m concerned it might not be the best option bc of that reason
this is much more of a traditional all-mtn/freeride board, with a width and sidecut that would feel pretty normal right away. The PW+ is much wider and has a long sidecut, both of which will take a little getting used to but it is awesome
Whats the sizing of your merch hoodie like? Yours looks baggy in all your videos? Are they oversized or are you just wearing a bigger size than normal? Also do you ship to UK?
I was just at Keystone! What’s a good spot on the mountain to find tree runs like this? Every time I venture into the trees there it’s moguls everywhere.
Man, that's quite a blanket of snow... How likely is it to get your snowboard caught on a stray root between the trees and have a mouthful of snow or fir?
👏 👏👏 Am I the only one who doesn't understand the point of tree runs😂 Is the thing in high risk of injury or in high risk of freezing to death alone? Maybe it's about a feeling of community 🤔
So jealous of some of those lines! They look so siiiiiiiiiick! Poppin fresh!

As someone on the east coast, I'm jealous. It's been pretty crap here so far this season.
Great footage, TJ. Thanks for sharing your epic pow day.
Living the dream!! 🏂
one of the best snowboarding videos i seen in a while, just beautiful. Those glades oh god yum yum
Just a day in the life with TJ eh? .... love it.
And your right... gotta get it while its good. Lets go!
Watching a snowboard tree run is like watching a ski tree run in slow motion

Looking good. Cant wait to head over to France.
Tj, you back to Keystone 🏂🤟
Going to be out in Keystone end of Jan. Pumped

Keystone is so sic I and the Outback omg.
Oh the Outback! Favorite place ever.
Did you hike up?
Never enough pow clips 😍
What pole do you use for 360? I need to get one. Awesome footage 🤩
I use the insta360 invisistick and have had great success with it.

Super fun
Looks like a SWEET day! 😆🤙
Epic video bro 😎🤙
Love the editing and music.
So much POW 😁
Keystone looks awesome.
Wish we had runs like this back in NZ.
Winter has finally come! I wish Keystone would clean up their front side trees a little
@@thedude5510 just a little bit not a lot of clearing some spots get pretty tight which can easily end in ruined gear is all

They are super heavy... don't get them...
just wondering when your board archive snowboarding sweater is coming out
they sold out super fast last year, restock is coming december 4th
Is there gonna be another hoodie drop?
Not till next season I think :(
restock coming december 4th

what trails were you hitting in the first part of the video?
some trees on the frontside of keystone

What kinda of selfie stick you using, how long is it?
its the smatree s2c, its 40 inches
Dang!!
Props

What are your thoughts on this board vs say party wave+. What would you take between both

Whats the sizing of your merch hoodie like?
Yours looks baggy in all your videos? Are they oversized or are you just wearing a bigger size than normal?

they are designed to naturally be a little longer/baggy, but I also sized up to XL hahah. Yes worldwide shipping, restock coming december 4th

shhhhh....
@@joshmou ahhh 👍
Timberwolf
tree runs naturally turn into moguls/snake runs when there's no fresh snow. But there are great trees all over keystone, just go explore :)
Snowboarding through trees is better than sex.
Hey TJ give me a hint, is that tree zone on the right or left side of the lift to the outback??
hahah this was a mix of 3 zones all around there, explore them all! You'll find it
Can we get a tip for standing back up in powder? Or am I just bad lol
pack down the snow repeatedly with your hand until you have something to push off of. or roll over onto your belly and stand up that way
Man, that's quite a blanket of snow...
How likely is it to get your snowboard caught on a stray root between the trees and have a mouthful of snow or fir?

wow just left jan 6th wish i caught this storm

Love to ride with you sometime.
