    Language is funny.... Giro (the company) is, I believe, named after the Giro d' Italia. Giro has a bunch of definitions in Italian: Circle (so a circle around italy), lap (still makes sense), tour (so Tour of Italy as opposed to Tour of France), Walk (as in stroll... less relevant to cyclists), and the one that I like revolution.
    I drive and Italian car so my tach is measured in Giri x 1000.
