HOW TO Set Up An EASY Verification System With Carl Bot *NEW UPDATE* 2021 WORKING

- In this video I will be teaching you how to set up your very own Discord server verification system with Carl-bot. We will do this by using reaction roles and specific perms for the @everyone role. This is working for 2021 and works with the new update. Look in the pinned comment for the fix for any problems you might have.

IMPORTANT EDIT:
Discord recently made an update so that the "Read Text and See Voice Channels" permission has been moved and is now called "View Channels" it should be one of the first permissions that you see when you select a role to edit. As for the "Read Messages" permission, it has been changed to "Read Message History" Big thanks to some people in the comments that brought this to my attention!

Q: "I can't see the "Read Text and See Voice Channels" permission when I go to the role permissions. Why?
A:
Discord recently made an update so that the "Read Text and See Voice Channels" permission has been moved and is now called "View Channels" it should be one of the first permissions that you see when you select a role to edit.
Q: "The bot can't assign the role because it says that its highest role is below the role that it is supposed to assign to members. Why?
A: To fix this problem, you want to go to "Server Settings" then click on "Roles". Then you want to click on the "Bot" role and drag it above the "Verified" role on the role list so that the Bots can assign that role to new people. The reason why it didn't work was because if a role is below another role, they cannot manage that role. This includes updating role permissions. But most importantly, assigning it to other members.

Thanks for the explanation. Got a quick question - what happens if i already have members in the server? Can i assign the specific role to everyone in batch?
You could code a discord bot to do it for you, but otherwise you have to manually give it unfortunately. However, there might be a bot already out there that will allow you mass add a certain role.

Hi! Your tutorial was helpful, thank you! I do have one problem however-
I did everything in this tutorial, I went to channel settings and made sure to press the read buttons option. But for some reason the verification message just doesn't show up to unverified to people, the channel does, and so do other messages. I'm not sure what to do

Great video! Running into this ssue: When I do the !rr command in my Rules channel, I get the message "Bot does not have add reactions permission." from Carl-bot. Do you know where I can change permissions for Carl-bot?
Yep. Go to server settings, roles, navigate to Carl-bot's role. Click on it, and then go to permissions. Make sure to give it Administrator permissions which should be at the very bottom. This way, carl will have all the permissions it needs to complete different tasks. You also need to remember to move Carl-bot's role above your member role.

Hey! I put in the command like !reactrole and the rest of it but then Carl-bot says “Uh oh, this is awkward. Please give me a role and remove it to force a refresh.” I think I’ve given it a role tho.. 😭

Yep, I applied it to my 300 server pretty easily. Just make sure to customize the channel permissions like I did at the end!

Man I opened discord server 1 day ago and I'm confused I wanna make everyone start at rules place then make them be able to go to other chat rooms Its a bit complicated since you made it with pc is there possible with androids
Mobile is the same, just hold on the channel to go to channel settings and navigate to permissions
