- Circuit Thermalito may have only been released two days ago, but the aliens are already up at the top of the leaderboard…
Massive shout out to Yuval Rosen of Virtualdrivers By TX3 for providing the replay file and setup from his incredible 2m 02.934s lap which currently puts him right at the top of the leaderboard. I’ve analysed his lap and broken it down corner by corner so, hopefully, we can all find a little extra pace for ourselves!

Nice Südspeed signage, did they sponsor the track? Track looks brilliant anyway, you forget how good fantasy tracks can be. Would have tried for your community race Dan but it would be 4am for me. Probably wouldn't have made it anyway as grid spots were taken really quickly. Love seeing this kind of stuff in sim racing 👍
They sure did! I set up a Kickstarter to get the budget to hire a professional track developer to get this made and they were one of the first through the door 😁 they've got a couple of custom liveries in the race too, Richard will be in the lead car and had a few shots in the trailer too. 4am is a bit of an early start though for sure 😅 and I thought 6am was bad. If you're keen I can put you on the reserve list though mate?
I am going to go full throttle into the wall of champions then it will have to be named after me as I will be imbedded in the wall 😂 RIP 🐻 That lap is insane BTW, well done Yuval! You sir are a steely eyed missile man!

I vote turn 7 should be named Oro Bend for the name of the town that Thermalito is part of which is Oroville or City of Gold.
I like that idea, a little nod to the locals! All of the existing corner names I've used were either original members from my RUclips community or people who backed the project to build this circuit on Kickstarter.
obviously the short layout isn't out _quite_ yet, but i have a feeling it'll be a match made in heaven for the VRC formula lithium. especially with all the scary-looking walls those cars seem to make their natural habitat in.
All of the infrastructure is there ready to go in a future update 😎 but there was a tight deadline in place to get Circuit Thermalito ready for the big community event this weekend so we had to make a few decisions on what to prioritise and what to come back to later. We're also thinking about an alternative first turn which bypasses the first chicane and follows the profile of the pitlane through the inside runoff instead. Should make for much higher top speeds and with all of the fiddly hairpins removed it'll feel very different to the main layout 👍
But what about the vans?
