Sam couldn't stop smiling when Tania was opening her gift, it's so great to watch two people be happy together.
Thanks for watching Sydney!
Since Autism/Aspergers affects a persons social-skills severely, i have
felt this way for a while now, some agree with me some don't, since it
makes a person socially-awkward by nature, i feel it hurts men more than women because men are still expected to make the first move and be the initiators, expected to initiate when it comes to forming a romantic relationship, in other words, women will almost never go up to a guy and start a conversation with him first, or ask a man out on a date first, or plan, set up all of the dates, be the one to progress things towards a relationship. In other words, people say it's because men court women, it's been like that traditionally, thats why i have felt Autism is going to hurt men more than women when it comes to dating/relationships.
nobodysperfect06 I don't entirely disagree but I think each gender has it's struggles. The male may initiate but after that the social interaction that takes place and subsequent interactions are all going to be difficult to interpret.
Smallie Bigs well that's because I know one girl that has Aspergers and she has been prone to making social errors, yet it hasn't stopped her from getting a boyfriend she has had lots of boyfriends in her life, she was an early bloomer, had her first boyfriend at age 15, and she said most of the guys she has been with they were the ones who made the first move and initiated, meanwhile I've met a couple guys who also have Asperger's and they are around her age and they still haven't had a girlfriend yet
This is because Autism affects men and women differently. Girls are social imitators, they learn to copy what the other girls are doing and for that reason can often go under the radar and not be diagnosed. Boys learn in different ways, and aren't so inclined to copy what others are doing and learning about what is socially acceptable. This tends to be the reason for the gender difference struggles with Autistic people rather than the way that dating is normally done.
both of the moms are INCREDIBLE!!!!! they did a wonderful job at raising their children!!
They sure are! Thanks for the support Siobhan
Where are the dads?
@@MeadeSkeltonMusic Sam's dad was directing him on the race day.
I was JUST gonna write this. Thank you for sharing before I did because you're so right.
So, true. I was simply blown away by the level of unconditional love&support their Mums have towards Sam&Tania. I agree we all want our children to be happy& enjoy the very best that this life can offer, including the joy of having, raising kids.
Tania's mum had me in fits of giggles with her iPad taking photos. With brilliant mum's like these ladies, these two beautiful souls have a wonderful life ahead of them.
Thanks for watching Amy!Hope you enjoyed our channel!
Bit overbearing, but, that's just years of constant protection of their children manifesting.
It used to make me cringe seeing people holding up big old tablets - just to take a picture 😖
*I'd be worried about theft personally; anyone can run by and snatch that iPad out of your hands before you could even react
@@VladmirPoopN I didn’t even think about theft, that just made me cringe hella hard
His sweet little smiles while she was opening her gift just melted my heart. He was so pleased and couldn't contain it. What a lovely pair, best of luck to them
Thanks for the support Natalie, we hope you enjoyed the episode!
That Was Pure Magic. Some Of Us Have Waited A Lifetime For A Moment Like There's. I Actually Teared Up.
It cracked me up seeing the mom trying to take pictures of their first dinner date from out the window with her huge tablet
Literally watching that part now, she’s just glowing with pride! I think I may be too! Lol They are so sweet🥰
I know 😂
Mum was so proud.
It’s so important for people to realise that just because someone might be a bit different they still need and desire the same thing as all of us. Love, companionship, to feel accepted. Kudos to the mother’s for giving their children the chance to experience such things. It was cute how excited the mothers were.
I love how sams entire personality changed whenever hes with tania. His face is more relaxed and is more eager to see her reactions.
Their moms are gems. So precious. They never say they can't do something or make it seem like they're a huge burden, like some parents do.
True. Not easy for the moms, who are the one that have to bear all the hardship in bringing them up and yet still maintain so positively about their own children. Great moms!
When he realised she was opening his present and his face lit up was gorgeous 😍 I hope them two stay happy together as a couple or even just friends 😊
Thank you for watching Kim 😊
I WANT AN UPDATE ON THESE TWO
Shirley Succubus I WANT ONE TOO
Sunny W SAME!!!
I KNOW RIGHT???
same
There's another video on here by Attitude about him 'Autistic man goes to special Olympics'. Tania was in it too. They were still dating four years later
At the end when they ask Sam "how did you feel when you saw Tanya?" And he said "I feel proud" that is so sweet he's proud that he has his girlfriend there to support him, I love it!
Sam is so cute and handsome and polite and so ..real
Thanks for watching Denni 😃
Denni Meshekova They are usually the sweetest people.
yes, but sad thing is he doesn't seem to be able to lead his girlfriend :( she made the suggestions and he just said "yes". There was no negotiation.
@@clemenslazar596 true very true however they are a good catch together and are at eachothers level. Tania's processing times are a little bit more advanced and Sam is just a wonderful man.
@@clemenslazar596 Irrelevant, if the girl needs leading then she isn't a good match. Would say this is quite common for those with asperger's. If you are dependant on leading and affection in good amounts, maybe look elsewhere.
I really really related to the mothers fear of men taking advantage of her daughters disability. I have two autistic sisters that are my whole world, and it is frightening just how vulnerable they are. I just hope that there will always be someone to love them and take care of them if anything were to happen to me.
Thanks for watching Kaitlin , hope you enjoyed!
Katty Okie I have autism myself and sometimes I worry about myself getting put in situations where I'm getting taken advantage of. I often consult my mum about romantic relationships and that helps me a lot. If you keep a good relationship with your sisters and advise them about these things, even if they seem obvious to you, they'll be fine ☺️
I'm 26, diagnosed with "high functioning" autism, and yet Sam is light years ahead of me in the romance department and socializing in general. Just another anecdote to show individual functionality is much too complex to be reduced to "high" or "low". As always, lovely documentary!
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for replying. Once a channel receives a substantial number of subscribers and views, those running the channel can get a little big-headed and stop replying to comments. So I really appreciate the down to Earth personal touch here at Attitude as you always take time to respond to viewers individually, and I'm sure I'm not alone in that! Keep up the great work! -All my best, AR
this made me so fucking happy. Im very high functioning but after finally being diagnosed even though id always been sure i had aspergers, i told my boyfriend of 5 years, which we planned on spending many more years together, and when i told him he decided we couldn't work. it's kept me from trying to date for so long because of that fear. but this..well this just filled my heart with hope.
Thanks for watching Jami , hope you enjoyed the doco and stay tuned!
Jami T A diagnosis changes nothing about you, just that it helps you understand your own condition. I'm really sorry your boyfriend broke up with you over this but there are guys who will love you for who you are, trust me 😊
His Lost.
xTwilightWolvesx that bf is a pathetic pos. Who does that shit if he was with her that long y in the hell would he break up w her after she told him.
Jami T sorry about ur former bf. He is a pos. Breaking up w u bec u have aspergers. Who does that childish crap? I just don't understand it.
They are the cutest! The way Sam looks at her and smiles just brightens up my day.
I hope AttitudeLive can do a follow up on them because I would love to see what they're doing as a couple.
Thanks for the supportive message Naomi, we're glad you enjoyed the episode and thanks again for watching!
Why am I holding my breath watching the whole video. I get so nervous for them.
Omg Sam's reaction when Tania was opening her gift was so beautiful, it made me cry.
Tania's mom with the tablet hahahahah! thats adorable..
Lovely couple!!
I think Sam is so so cute!!watching him watch her open her gift was so effing adorable I could barley contain myself!
Jessa Jarrell I know right?
Good to see you're enjoying the episodes Jessa! Thanks again for watching!
"No one person on the spectrum is alike"
I'm yet to meet any human that is alike tbh. Their honesty is refreshing, lovely humans
My brother has autism, sometimes people take advantage of him it's really sad. Though he can't read or write he can speaking fairly well.
Thanks for sharing your story, Carrie!
Carrie North reason. Is humans r pathetic vermin and pos. No compassion to people that have disability. Hate humans like that.
I work with individuals who experience similar situations. Part of the work we do together is building social skills and setting goals which include things like self advocacy and looking for signs of people taking advantage. I am thinking positive thoughts for your brother
I have autism I'm not ashamed of being autistic
@@zaki.aka.bostic99 good for you, no reason to be. You're just as normal as anyone, and as different as everyone xx
Aww he was nervous/excited when she opened the present :)
That was cute
Thanks for watching Alycia! glad you enjoyed it!
I absolutely love this story. It takes the complexities out of love. It can really be so simple. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching Sara we really appreciate the support!
Sara Smil3 I feel like they truly enjoy being with each other and support each other, no games, no expectations for one another.
He finished the race and told Tania congratulations lol.
Some people with autism have a hard time understanding social interactions, so sense everyone was saying Congratulations to him and being happy he probably just though that it was the thing to say to express that happiness to her. It was very sweet.
It was silly seeing the mom in the window of the restaurant taking pictures of them as they ate. Very sweet story, though, and I wish them the best. I'm glad they found a good balance between them. I gotta say, he looked the happiest when Tania was opening the gift he gave her. :)
Why would anyone thumbs down such a video? :(
Gina nonnameforever bec humans are fucking pathetic and pos.
He's so handsome, and she's beautiful! good looking match!
Hope you enjoyed the episode ! Thanks for watching!
before Sam met Tania, did he ever have a girlfriend before? how old was he when he got his first girlfriend? because it seems people with Autism struggle to form relationships, to form boyfriend/girlfriend relationships compared to normal people without Autism/Aspergers
They say a couple of times within the first 6 minutes that he's had multiple girlfriends (at least 2 from what it sounds like), but he'd have trouble maintaining the relationship and basic relationship needs
cicada300 ya because it sounded like they were saying he had girls as friends but not as an official girlfriend, as in romantic/sexual relationship
Did anyone notice tania had a tongue ring
I can't stop smiling! I hope they have a wonderful future together. 💚
Thanks for watching Erin! Glad our video made you smile 😃
Wonderful story!!! Hope they're still going strong. The mum's are adorable and so very supportive! I thought the picture taking was endearing.
Thanks for the kind words Gina!
I feel bad but I was shocked to see him driving. So happy to see them happy 😊
I know I was completely shocked xx
He has issues with communication but is fully functional young man
I was wondering what his Mum meant when she asked Sam, "what time are you gonna pick up Tania, 6:30pm?" But, I was pleasantly surprised to see Sam actually driving to literally pick up Tania. They're an adorable couple. With love&relationships being such a fleeting thing sometimes as a young person, I hope they've been able to remain great friends, at least.
What the heck was up with that tailgater at 17:21 pissed me off.
I wouldn't of thought Sam would be allowed to drive a vehicle, But if he passed his driving test what can you say but congratulations good on you Sam.
what wonderful mums!
Thanks for your kind words! Hope you enjoyed the episode!
I WISH i had someone who loved and cherished me like these two do with one another.
God bless them 💓
I have Aspergers and there is no way you would ever get my into a theme park. Sam does so well!
the noise is too much ...I have aspergers and I can hardly bear supermarkets as too much contrasting noises and lights too bright
It’s great they choose to expose themselves to a challenging place sensory wise. I’m sure that was difficult for them
what a beautiful and innocent love story.❤
It sure is! Thanks for watching Adri!
Love how he just stops and waves to say hi .
Hope you enjoyed the episode Jesse! Thanks for watching!😀
My son is 26 years old and he has autism. I would like this for my son with all of my heart. I'll keep praying for it.
Omg I'm the same age as Tania and have some things I've had to learn to adapt to, and I definitely wouldn't be anywhere without the support of my family and super close family. Music is my outlet too. This story just warms my heart seeing the two of them together!
Thanks for sharing Rikki, hope you enjoyed the episode!
man I don't usually like videos like this, but this was really sweet and genuine. they really do suit each other well. I was getting the impression that Sam really didnt display any emotion at all, until the part where she opened her gift, he was stoked.
It's interesting how drastically different people with autism can be from one another. The diagnosis "autism" can mean a million and two different things.
This is precious! Makes me so happy to see representation of dating on the spectrum. Lots of people think that people on the spectrum don't date, but this perfectly shows that they do! It just takes the right kind of people to understand :)
*We need an update on them!*
my daughter is 45 years old i have looked after her for that time and will do so till i die she is just lovely xxxxxxx
How wonderful! Sending nothing but love to them. He is a very handsome man. I hope their relationship progresses. 😊
The way Tania's mum talks about her just breaks my heart
Gives her daughter no credit ...cuts her no slack !!!!
And she could use all this because she is so progressive !!!!!
I don't know why people think that a disability erases the basic human need to have a partner or desire to have children.
Thank you Ni Ni Par, hope you enjoyed!
Diilali bec humans r brainwashed and don't think for themselves
Radius right... I'm just like them and I never was labeled with a disability like that
Simple. Cause autistic people have a harder time understanding social cues and norms of human interaction. Why would a woman pick an autist over a normal person? Sucks, but it is reality
@@Victimxofxprogress good thing there are autistic women too. I am autistic and I would love to date an autistic guy.
Does anyone know how they went. Such a cute couple.
Emily Kate theres an update
Gamer Chika where is the update?
There’s another video of Sam competing in the Special Olympics where they state that they’ve been together for 3 years. Unfortunately that video is also 4 years old, since then she’s moved on. Don’t know if Sam is single or found someone else too. He’s still competing and setting records in long distance swimming.
Eata Peeta
Thanks for the update
They are such an adorable couple together my heart is literally bursting for them. Also as a female not going to lie Sam is very good looking.
So cute to see Sam’s keep smiling while Tania open the present 🎁
in a few years am hoping this for my son.
Thanks for watching Minerva!😀
you commented this two years ago, any update on your son? hope everything is going excellent with him
Love to have an update on this sweet couple. Hope they are together!
Lol he and his mom are funny how they interact.
Hope you enjoyed the episode ! Thanks for watching!
I hope both Sam and Tania have a great life together, It all bought a tear to my eyes as my son has Autism and he is very much like Sam and I always worry about him getting to this stage but seeing Sam and Tania fall in love puts my mind at ease.
I hope that both Sam and Tania see this message and I want to say I hope your life together is forever you are both beautiful people MUCH LOVE from Brett from Australia xx.
I love both of their moms. I especially love the moment where Sam's mom is teaching him how to order for Tanya. This is great.
“He’s confident” bc he had a wonderful mother who raised him and loved him with every last portion of her heart!
I can't help but find it sad how her mother was talking about her as if she's not normal while she's sitting there. Just because you're different, does not mean you are not normal. The way we talk and the language we use is important. There's nothing abnormal about Autism.
The mother is not ignorant she knows what she's on about she's lived with her daughter for a long time..
16:50 THAT ONE KISS, SAM IS IN LOVE
Can this please be a tv show!!!! I'd love to follow their journey!!!
Netflix has a show called love on the spectrum. There are two seasons of it. It’s a good show.
shame job Mama bear with her tablet at the restaurant 🍴 lol, fair enough 💜💜
I love Sam’s mom! ❤️ i like how she talks with him and includes him.
Her mum talks like she isn't sitting right next to her. I'm sure the daughter doesn't appreciate her mum saying she's too naive to look after herself.
I grew up in a narc household so I get where your coming from!
At 16:48 to 16:55 the way Sam looks at Tania melt my heart 🥺❤️
Tanya looks so pretty in Pink. Her Mother needs to let them have a date. I understand if she wants to wait outside. There are already cameras on them filming.
I thought it was a bit much threw the restaurant window.
Tanya has a tongue ring
Sam & Tania Mums did an awesome job. What an inspirational documentary this was. Thank you for sharing.
Her and her mom playing music was so heartwarming 💕 what a lovely voice! Xx
Can't stop smiling. Thank you for a wonderful little documentary!
Thanks for watching! Hope you enjoyed our channel and keep coming back! 😀
Few autistic people can achieve this with the right support system.
2 things:
1. tonia seems pretty cognizant and aware of what's going on usually but she seems super uncomfortable when people are watching her or there are cameras on her. She also doesn't say all that much herself but idk how much of that is her condition and how much of that is being self conscious while on camera...
2. sam should get a speech coach so he can practice his conversational skills. no it doesn't have to be quick or even normal pace but he has incredible difficulty just saying simple responses. it would do him some good to just get used to a rythm.
When he’s looking at her before their dinner date it’s so cute. I love this episode 😍
I hope my son gets to experience this
Laura Noyes he will
I hope mine does too❤
Laura Noyes me too I hope my son does also
I hope my lonely ass gets to experience this
He reminds me so much of my son, he is high functioning as well and this actually gave me a lot of hope for him. He is 14 now and all he talks about is finding a girlfriend. I am trying to find a group where he can meet other ASD teens to be social with.
So he has his drivers license ? Amazing. 🥰
Update: Sam is doing well with his Olympics, Tania is now in a new relationship and i believe she has recently had a baby! Unsure what happened, i think Sam went to LA for a few months... They seem to be very happy though!
Daniel N ooooh really they were so beautiful together if Tania is happy in her new relationship that’s wonderful God bless her
I'm still smiling! Sam is amazing, going forward with a relationship when he's so nervous. The more he went out, the .ore confident he became. I hope they continue too be together, hopefully marrying. The mothers are fantastic - incredibly involved and supportive. Dedicated to enabling their children to have the fullest and happiest lives possible.
Sam has encouraged me to walk through social fears, acknowledging them and still following through instead of isolating so much t home. Thanks to you, both! Best wishes!! 😀
I have a 3 year old son with autism and this makes me so happy to see anyone can find happiness 🥰
I love your documentaries, so inspirational and all those beautiful people are just amazing.
Thanks Elena, we really appreciate the support - glad to have you as part of our community!

Attitude please always update about them :)
Sam, you're absolutely handsome.
You shouldn't have any problem finding the right girl. My daughter has high functioning autism. She's going to be 19 in a week. She's been dating a boy for a while now. Best of Luck
Lovely people. It is interesting Sam can drive yet has difficulties in making decisions and other fields of life, this is an interesting condition , their mothers are wonderful and supportive.
Good luck to them. That's beautiful. And yay to the mum's for staying back and not getting in their space. The way he looks at her is so beautiful.
Sam, the excited gentleman. He will make a lucky girl happy! Good luck, Sam! A great vlog, people living their lives, and letting others see them! Fantastic!
he is such a beautiful energy! no words needed. And she gets him.. pure love
what a sweet couple. I hope the best for these two. they seem really good together.

This absolutely melted my heart..such beautiful people...
I hope to see my son be that happy and well-adjusted. I know it's a tough road ahead but stories like this make me hopeful.
I'm autistic and didn't know I was until age 34. I realized I was masking most of my life.
I couldn't stop smiling while watching this...I wish they had their own RUclips channel...I am also proud of the mothers they are amazing women...just Love the love that was is all up and through this video!!!
That was great.! My nephews son has autism and it great to see his development over the years.
