This is the music I grew up on. My Romanian father played this music every Sunday afternoon after church. I can't hear a violin playing that it doesn't take me back to those lazy Sunday afternoons of the 60's. I think my brother still has all the LP's.

It's not 'Russian-Gypsy' music. It is just Russian. The background to the music is as follows: Ivan Vasiliev was a Russian choir director of a famous 19th-century Gypsy ensemble in Russia. After hearing the ensemble play, a Russian poet called Apollon Grigoriev was inspired to write a poem, which he named "Two Guitars" ("Две гитары"). Vasiliev was then inspired to compose the melody to the poem.

@@jono2177 regrettably, I suspect this is a private arrangement as I have searched for it as well. My version was in one of my “first solos” collections for young violinists. 😞.
I really feel the tone of the music and it stick to my innermost being as if I am soak with a cold rain.
Müziğin evrensel uyumu. Dünyada duyduğum en anlamlı beste. Kelimenin tam anlamıyla büyüleyici.
