Sounds like a good plan. You'll be making some good distance each day for sure. That northern route that you'll be taking should be easier in the winter than the Sault Ste Marie route due to the flatter terrain.

I use to drive from Toronto to Marquette, MI. That would be a nice time lapse. It took me 11-12 hours to drive that distance
