Also check out the Big Fat Christmas Bundle here: goldclassaudio.com/product/big-fat-christmas-bundle/ Hmm the dislikes must be Ableton users :D No worries I am not hating on Ableton. It's just not for me since I am so used to FL Studio.
I love the FL piano roll, but I also love the plugins and effects layout of Ableton. A fun thing I caught myself doing on more than one occasion is opening FL as a plugin in Ableton just so I could use the Ableton plugins and the FL piano roll at the same time.
Now you know how us Ableton producers feel when we try to use FL 😂😂😂 if you put in the time and effort and you get gud at Ableton, it becomes insanely good. It doesn't feel like software and it feels completely natural. Ableton Is known for its incredible work flow. 😁👍 keep it up and you might be surprised!
:D This is me, every time I've switched to a new DAW. I'm fully converted to Ableton Live now though. I'm not going to pretend that there aren't some things I'd like to change in Live 10, but the vast majority of things I found frustrating at first turned out to have an answer. You just can't drop into Live and fly with it like you can with some sequencers. I used Live occasionally for years but didn't get beyond using it as my "sketch pad" at the beginning of a tune, and then I'd move everything into my main DAW to finish. When I finally decided to get into Live properly, I had to spend a few weeks reading the manual, watching tutorials, and (most importantly) taking notes as I went along. When it becomes familiar, Live is great (but so is FL Studio, Reaper, Studio One, Cubase, or whatever; there are no bad DAWs anymore).
if you can produce in FL(Cubase,Logic, Reason etc..)you can produce in any DAW. It wont take you long , spend a week learning the DAW , shortcuts etc.. with time muscle memory kicks in and doing something becomes instant. I like FL piano roll, automation clips and Mixer but imo Ableton has better stock plugins and a better workflow e.g Ableton EQ8 is like combining FL paramEQ2 and SPAN. Editing audio is quicker in ableton as everything is done on the audio in the time line without having to "make unique..name it .. open Edison load it etc".. Edison is super powerful but overkill for most tasks and requires more steps. Ableton also forces you to become more organised.. my FL projects are so messy and long..and how much time i spend scrolling up/down trying to find that automation clip or sample I use once is a time killer. FL swing is a staple but there is the equivalent in ableton just gotta find it;) Ableton consolidate (Ctrl+J) , Freeze, flatten is something i wish FL would implement also. Yes you can do it in FL but it requires extra steps. I recommend challenging yourself to a new DAW ..if youre new to Ableton skip session view hit (TAB) and work in arrangement view . Get used to using the search bar (Ctr+ F) loading plugins , sounds, instruments is much faster. The best DAW is the one you have spent more time learning , your'e comfortable with and suits your workflow . There is nothing i cant do in FL that i can in ableton ...but! the workflow is winning me over. I will continue using both for now but if you are a young producer challenge yourself to a new DAW while your brain plasticity is at its optimum ...you dont know what you dont know...and you never stop learning ..no matter how long you have been doing something. Happy producing👍
oooh I just downloaded the trial of Ableton a few days ago and I can tell you it hurts so much trying to figure out how to control the piano roll and midi clips ahahah.. After 8 years in FL Studio I feel like it's almost impossible to make even a simple chord progression in Ableton hahahaa :D
I was an fl producer and switch to ableton a year ago... the piano roll and the overall daw is way faster, of you download some programs you can make it even faster
Arcade yeah, i see your point... i was forced to swap because all my producer friends were using Ableton and nobody wanted to collab with stems Ahah... btw i prefer the work flow of ableton cuz it keep the project organized without becaming mad on the mixer. But in fl looks more cool
Good job to be the first time!! I also find Ableton quite frustrating! What I do have to recognize is that its Looping / Recording function is something really cool that I think no other DAW has, being able to record clips of virtual instruments combining audio tracks (real instruments such as guitar, bass) or voice in real time ! It's a pretty good thing.
Just swapped from fl to ableton suite about a month ago. Feedback is that ableton is harder to get the hang of but once you get the hang of it. The workflow is so much faster.

It literally took me over an hour to figure out how to get out of the session view and find the arrangement view. I felt so stupid after reading about the Tab key. Then another hour and some RUclips figuring out how to get the clips over. Yeah, I’m old and set in my ways.
One feature that I like about Ableton though, is that you can see all the stock effects/synths at the bottom bar and you don't have to open it to view it
