I just looked at a new GSX-R 750 the other day. That thing is sweet. Nice job changing all these parts. Always a crap shoot looking on the internet to find out how to do stuff like this. Glad it worked out for you.
Thank you! Maybe this will help someone else who’s looking for info.
Very nice edit ,crisp and to the point .What a huge difference in lever position from the old set to new .This will definately help many fellow bikers trying to accomplish something similar . Well done ,as always .Have a great Christmas and a solid 24 .Cheers
Thank you man! Merry Christmas to you and your family as well!
@@linksgarage1985what was the total cost
@@lynxeffect84 $400. Stainless lines, EBC brakes, lever, and R1 parts off of eBay.
great up grades brother !!! i love my 19x9
Hell yea! Thanks for watching. I appreciate it!
Thanks for the video, I got a K6 1k I’m rebuilding and plan to do this brake set up
Hell yea! This bike was wrecked. And I have a bunch of videos on the channel about it. Thanks for watching!
Nice job, man. It's 60° degrees here today! I just had to put the battery back in the Drz and fire it up. Then, I thought, what the hell, take a little ride... 75 miles later I pulled back into the garage! 😅. Middle of December, Man! That's a first for me..😅. Hope you all are doing well and having a wonderful Holiday. 🎄. Remember the reason for the season. ✝️
Thank you! Yea. I rode the other day and it was low 30s. I froze. I’m riding tomorrow on Xmas eve. Can’t wait! Merry Christmas!
I have a k7. Nissin master sucks. I had it replaced under warranty once before and I ended up buying the brembo 19rcs after it started to feel slushy again. I wish I had done it years ago when I bought the bike new. I’m saving up to overhaul the entire brake system.
I rode this bike yesterday in Xmas eve. 80 miles. Brakes freaking rock now! Yea. The nissin master was. Nothing to write home about.
do you know if this mod will work for gsxr600??
Noobie here. Did you have any trouble with “centering” the pads on the brake disc for maximum contact so they werent sitting too far in or too far out? Or did the spacers index the caliper at the right distance for that?
That’s what the spacers were for. If I would have just attached he’d the calipers, the rotor would have bottomed out in the caliper. Learn experience. Rode it yesterday. It did amazing!
@@linksgarage1985 I figured, was just curious. Great video anyhow, thanks for the response my dude 🤙
@@shnewsky6982 thanks for watching!
Whas the spacer size you used. I ordered both the brimbo brake and clutch (i like things to match).
Spacer link in description of video.
Will I have the same brake feel if I use just the brembo master cylinder? I have gsxr 1000 and the master is trash to say the least lol
The master is for sure the big contributor here. It should improve things drastically.
Can this mod be done to a gsxr600 k9 model ????
I’m not sure man.
From what motorcycle master cylinder brembo ?
Yamaha R1
@@linksgarage1985 thanks gonna upgrade.my k6 too , what difference between golddots and silver ones ?
@@adomaslesys not sure. And these were from an 06 R1. 04-06 fits. Spacing on other years may not.
@@adomaslesys not sure
What year, master cilinder r1, i can have a grab on a 2009 model. Is it worth the money?
these mf chinese doods that sent me the spacers are pissin me off lmao. female side that goes onto the dowels in the forks is too shallow. i tell the seller, after a week of them dragging out the convo, they sent me replacements. after a week of waiting for the "replacements" they just send me the same damn product again... thinking of drilling them out but then i have exposed aluminum.... gonna go crazy. hebron kentucky is apparently hub of chinese product fulfillment.
i jus wanna ride my bike again after doing the first half of this process… these guys suck lol
Man I had another guy tell me the same thing. Maybe I just got lucky. Sorry dude
@@linksgarage1985 yeah i think so haha. they started makin em wrong after you got yours. i found another company that sells as well so imma try them. thanks for the video tho. it’s helped plenty of ppl get pointed in the right direction for this upgrade!
@@apieceofreese48 for sure. Only thing I’d say to check is make sure the dowels on the fork legs are all the way seated and see if they will tap down. If they are, you might have to drill them out. Sucks man. Maybe try another spacer?
@@apieceofreese48 I can’t vouch for them because I’ve never used them. But this is what I was going to buy originally. The forums recommend them. www.twfracing.com/images/zparts/R6%20caliper%20spacers%20003%20bg.jpg. Check for yourself. Good luck dude
Great upgrade !! Im doing this to my gsxr 750 k6. Did you order the new brake lines for a R 1 or did you order them for the gixxer ?
R1! Gixxer has the single line from the master to the RH caliper then crosses over to the housing. R1, has 2 lines from master, to each caliper. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for your reply !! I have exact the same setup apart from the brake lines im gonna go with the blue one, my gix is blue / white. Other than that everything is gonna be the same, the lever looks great ! How is the setup doing, you are still happy with it ?
@@dickquist9483 I am extremely happy. It truly transformed the bike. I’m not 100% sure the calipers and spacing is the same for the 750. If it’s the same as the 1000, this should work for you! Just remember if you are changing the master, you’ll have to get a brake lever for an R1. The GSXR lever won’t fit. Good luck, and keep me posted!
Perfect ! Looks great too !! Yeah its the same for the 1000 and the 750. I ordered all the parts i just have to wait when it all comes in so i can install it. I will give you an update once its ready. Thanks again for your reply and great vid 👍👍👍
@@dickquist9483 awesome! Very welcome!
