YOOO! on god i went to high school with boosie. i graduated '02 and I still remember seeing Boosie rapping in the hallways. He always gave the impression of being an incredibly kind dude (if you deserved to be treated kindly, obvs not if you start chirpin bout something you shouldn't be). I also used to work with some of his cousins/aunts at Zeeland Street Market, which is still a great restaurant, maybe 1.5-2 miles away from McKinley once you pass city park. They were also wonderful people who were a joy with which to share a work environment. Best thing about McKinley was that even though the white students were the minority, I don't remember EVER seeing any overtly racist shit going down. I'm sure it happened to some people, some of the time; be they white, black, or otherwise. But that was 100% the exception and not the rule. We all got along and respected one another. I'll never forget the day the guys in my PE class decided I deserved a nickname. We were doing track and field exercises and I happen to be an incredibly fast sprinter. We went up in groups of 4 and it was always super competitive. So when I smoked the guys I was up against, the class went crazy and decided I earned the title of "BREWSKI #1". There were two other white guys in that class who, as you might guess, became Brewski #2 and Brewski #3. Never had I felt more accepted at McKinley hahaha. In fact, I started this three piece punk rock band my sophomore year, and on the early dismissal days (first wednesday of every month) they'd let my band play in between the two main buildings. Obviously, the majority of the black student body weren't necessarily fans of the genre we played, but it didn't matter everyone would pack out the area and cut up together. All smiles and love the whole time. There was a deep respect for music at that school and I think that was in no small part due to Mr. Frank Williams, the band teacher during my tenure. Man is/was a legend. McKinley, Boosie, (most of) the faculty, and the entire student body all get my endless love and respect. Thanks for making this video.
One other note about McKinley, I could be wrong, but I believe Kevin Gates also attended McKinley when he was living in BR. He may have only been there a semester or a year at the most before moving to New Orleans, but I'm pretty confident he did attend McK for a little while.

Thanks for the tour!
He lived in the house to the left behind the trees that overgrown it.
