📲 Yay! Our Pick Up Limes app is finally here (1-week free trial!): bit.ly/PUL_app 🎉
3 things you’re thankful for. Go!
For me: when Robin makes dinner, awesome finds at the thrift store, for the comedians that give me a good laugh before going to bed. Also, thankful for the flowers we bought one month ago that are somehow still alive, the yummy recipes we’ve been experimenting with lately, all of your heart-warming comments and emails, thankful I get to see my family soon, thankful for the amazing book I’m listening to, love it when the sun comes through the window where I sit and work, thankful for kittens and babies, my warm cup of tea each morning, sci-fi movies… okay that’s way more than 3, so I’ll pass it to you now :)

Why is everyone so obsessed about chasing happiness? In my opinion, this is a very narrowed way of thinking. Feelings are so multidimensional - why choose one above all others? What is about being satisfied with your life, grateful for a special friendship, proud of an achievement, excited for going to yoga class, sad because a book touched our heart, relieved because we managed to go through a tough situation - or the best: just feeling incredible alive after facing and then overcoming one of our fears? There are feelings teach us so much more and are more important than happiness. Just saying. It ist not meant to be criticism, because I love your videos and you really are an inspiration. If my thoughts sound harsh, please consider that I am not a native speaker - it is not meant to be rude.

Yea I totally like your response. I suppose it's more about contentment. This chasing of happiness has become a toxic travel for some. I love the image you created about how life is just all of our experiences and emotions. Not one more valuable than the other. And that happiness maybe is over rated or misinterpreted.. Pushed to be better than others. I remember times where I was just content with what I had and didn't look at others all the time like how it happened when social media started... thank you Siaphan.

YES, and this starts in how we teach our children gratitude. Teach them grace and gratitude when they are very little - so they don't struggle with always needing more in their adulthood. Teach them empathy for others less fortunate, and teach them 'want vs. need'. It all begins when they are young.

Appreciation is another good word, because when we look for things to appreciate in our lives right where we stand, we become overall happier.
Limiting my time on social media to only the content that is going to help me has helped me feel better as well.
I appreciate this video, thank you for taking the time to make it 😊

I'm almost in tears of emotion, a friend of mine just made me feel so bad, minutes ago, because she's pregnant, she has my same age, and she told me things like that I SHOULD have a baby already, she literally said ''don't be the grandmother of your baby'', and I'm only 23 years old... I don't have a degree yet, I don't have a I do not have job stability, even mental and emotional stability, I'm starting Psychologist career the next month, and I want to graduate, THEN i want to have kids, probably I will marry before that because I have a beautiful and stable realationship with my boyfriend, we live together and we want to get married, but, it's so annoying how people, how society, even your friends, wants to put you all the time through the stereotype of having a degree at a certain age, to be married, to have kids, to have a house and a car and a dog etc etc... it's a lot of pressure for us the young people, and for not so young people... questions like 'why you don't have this or why don't you do this yet?'' make us so sick! every single human being has their own rythm to do the things in life, and the reasons why we don't do it, sometimes we don't have money, we don't feel ready emotionally, there could be millions of reasons... we don't know how is the other person life, why should we question them or hurry them? I really want to be a mother, have a baby, or two, or three, but, I am not ready! I want to have my degree, my work, economic stability, emotional too... I have some dreams to fulfill before becoming a mother... etc
This video made my day and makes me feel again peace in my heart and in my sould. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR COMING AT THE EXACT TIME! lot of hugs

for God so loved the world that he created a massive torture chamber for 8 billion people 'cuz one couple ate a magical fruit. How many loving parents create torture chambers for their kids? You know what, nevermind. The Bible is a morally bankrupt, historically backwards, scientifically backwards fantasy-fiction book with talking trees and talking animals.
I am thankful I have a working brain that allows me to distinguish fiction from reality.

I had very similar thoughts lately. And I realized that chasing happiness could and often makes us even more upset when we fail in something or when the achieved goal doesn’t bring this highly expected happiness... just as you said.
In my opinion we should rather concentrate on being good humans - for others and for ourselves - that means kind, helpful, affectionate, creative ... and I believe that by doing so the happiness will come naturally at some point.

I love this message. Sadness is an emotion too, and it's important to allow ourselves moments to be vulnerable and grieve. Feigning happiness is exhausting, so I've always tried to find natural ways to maintain a positive outlook by being grateful for the people and opportunities in my life.

I love your videos. Seeing others doing great and beautiful isn't a motive to feel down and depressed, quite the contrary, it is inspiring and motivating, the better everything becomes, the better everything feels about life and cosmos. Yeah, I can recognize that I too am the If... then psychology about happiness, but I can recognize as you say that happiness is something we all can tap into any moment and that it is there with us at every step of the journey hiding behind the ideals. Thank you attitude is something I am working too. Thanks for your videos, you bring beauty into RUclips Pick Up Limes channel. EK

I'm going to be honest here, I completely appreciate the sentiment of your words, and what you're saying. And I wholeheartedly agree with the words. However, I feel that the visuals are completely juxtaposed to the content and it's not presented as genuinely as it could be. The footage is romanticized and as you mentioned "social media" perfect. It's what people imagine will bring them happiness, walking around in a field, or trekking amidst forests. But seeking happiness isn't this picturesque in my experience. It's messy, and painful, and yes, it is looking around you saying thanks to everything positive you have in your life. But I have found that most people don't tend to be saying it in a perfect living room surrounded by beautiful plants or cute furniture. Rather they're likely feeling really disheartened, or sad, or stressed, and pushing themselves to feel positive and hopeful.
