Because I have created a lifestyle that allows me to walk across Spain for 45 days and I believe that should be celebrated. To spend my days doing what I love most, that is cause for celebration.
I started in Saint Jean Pied du Port May 13th, 2024 and arrived in Finisterre on June 21st, 2024. The Camino de Santiago now seems like a distant memory. Something that I can’t quite grasp although I lived and breathed it so intensely for several weeks.
The Camino becomes a lifestyle when you’re out there. You wake up, walk, stop for coffee and breakfast, continue walking, stop for lunch, wash your clothes in the sink, sleep in albergues, etc etc for days on end. It becomes hard to imagine a life where the primary goal isn’t walking. And then, in the blink of an eye, it’s over, and your days return to however they were before.
My first thought when I arrived at the cathedral was “I want to do it again.” And so I know that I will. I hope that you’ll commit to the things that light you up, too.

what do you do for work that allows you to go on these hikes?
@@Chellebeller Great question! I work in real estate investing which is really flexible, I manage rental properties, and I also host group trips which means I travel a lot for work too!
