Intro track is one of your best! That end run on the Les Paul 😍
Thank you brother! It's the longest solo I've ever played!
This was amazing. Your mixes are God tier.
Thanks Joe!!!
The opening riff is just fantastic. You’re so talented.
I really care for this tone! Reminds me of the John Petrucci lead passages via the Awake album.
I'm digging the guitar choice!! PRS!!!!
I have the Friedman BE and the Fryette Pitbull modules. They are absolutely phenomenal! I have really been eyeing the vh4 module along with a couple others, but this Herbert kind of changes things!
I do think the Herbert is an improvement over the Vh4 (in general). It does a good job of capturing the Diezel sound.
That's a beauty of a PRS. I have a 2008 Core Line Mira and it's an amazing guitar.
SO MUCH ROCK!
That tone from that Les Paul is GOD TIER
Sounds epic. Can’t wait to get mine.
They all just came back in stock.
Hey Michael, nice intro song! Awesome playing and great tones. As always 🥳 Thanks!
You nailed it, Michael. I own a Diezel Herbert and channel 2 is indeed Marshall. Has a low/high gain switch which is very useful. Channel 3 is a beast with more mids which I love for metal rhythm playing and lead guitars. Great sound from the Synergy and your signal chain. And tasty playing.
PHAT!!! Sounds fantastic!
Very cool playing Mr Nielsen !!!
Awesome stuff mate.
Smoki’n hot intro! 🔥
My Herbert Mk 1 has been my #1 for almost 10 years now. Would love to get ahold of one of these to AB.
great playing my friend
This module is inherently midrangey, even with the mid-cut. It's not what you'd expect a Herbert to be like, other than the gain texture. This module is one that if someone could mod, it would kick absolute ass, but as-is? I'm letting mine go after playing with the Bogner and Friedman modules because all have EQs that are way more balanced and do what they're supposed to do. With the Herbert, I can't get the right kind of bottom end without sacrificing either the tightness or gain. SOMETHING ends up being compromised and I find myself always fighting with the EQ. It's not set-and-forget like the BE-BB or the Ecstasy. With the Herbert, one day you'll love how you dialed it in, the next day you'll be like--"what fuck was I thinking?!"
Nice PRS tone.
Your best playing demo yet Michael, Great job...you've spent some time now with MTS Modules, could i trouble with what is your favorite clean and then gain module? thanx
That does it !! I'm going to need you to stop these gear demoes and start recording your guitar album. It's way cheaper for me to buy your album than all of this gear you make sound so good which I can't do justice to.
Thank you.
It’s like…none more rock🤘
Sounds awesome man. I’m just wondering tho how much your sculpting the tone thru your effects and DAW
Hi thanks! There's mastering on the overall mix. Some reverb and delay in places. Maybe a touch of EQ to balance with the drums. I try to keep the sound as true to the raw module as possible.
No kidding, you’re an awesome player and all the content you release is really helpful. Thank you!
I was debating getting into synergy and running it in conjunction with my Axe FX 3.
Have you tried that at all or what would your thoughts be?
I’m missing the tube sound but wondering if I run it into a Axe FX and then into FOH or a DAW if I will still lose that tube sound in the transfer?
Thanks again for your content man
Glorious brutality. Nice melody and percussive right hand kung-fu in the opening track!
That intro track is rad as f*ck. So is your playing
Dude, absolutely beautiful playing! Those Synergy amps are scary though. Did you see what it did to Louis Torres's poweramp on his channel?
What did it do?
What?
It exploaded his KSR poweramp
@@ValSchnitzel When you go into anything but the Synergy stuff your taking a chance, it's not supposed tpo be that way but it is. Everybody I have known that has run it into the Synergy amp has had no problems at all.
@@hawg427 Than they should write this somewhere.
Just bought a syn 1 used with a couple of modules. Been playing through the ampsim out at home. Is there any ir manufacturers that may have the vht power amp with the greenback cabinet you know of?
42 to 52 second mark is so good!!
Michael, love your videos. Interesting, informative and educational. If I were to buy a Synergy Syn-2 and this module, would I need to buy a power amp or something else to record direct into my Roland VS2000cd?
The syn-2 does have a switchable cabinet simulation, so you could use that without needing to buy anything else. I currently run it into the Two Notes Wall of Sound plugin for power amp and cab sim, which could also be achieved with one of their Torpedo Cab M units if you want to run into the Roland!
@@Erik_Nordlund Hey Erik,
Thanks for responding :) Do you feel that it lack punch without a power amp?
@@geoffreymerrifield5666 No problem! I’ve only been using the SYN-2 into some kind of IR since I got it, and I’ve been pleased with the results! I find it much easier to get a pleasing/reproducible tone with the IRs compared to miking a power amp into a cab. The built in cab sim is useful too, but a little more scooped and bassier/darker than the V30/Creamback H combo I use the most. Maybe a bit more like a G12-T75 based on samples I’ve heard online.
Always on top ! Great tones from this preamp ! Have you ever tried the vh4 pedal ?
Thanks. Yeah, I thought it was fine/good. I was a little bummed that it was totally solid state. I thought it was tube when I bought it. It still felt more like a pedal to go into a clean amp, rather than a stand-alone preamp to me.
I can listen to Michael play a 1984 gorilla amp and still be impressed.
An amp like the Herbert has so much to do with the power section. I wonder how they addressed this with cloning the sound. Simply EQ and compression artifacts?
Do I really Need another Synergy? Let me know, please. I already have the Fryette Deliverance, and Fryette Pitbull, the SLO, the Friedman HBE, and the ENGL Savage. I only use 3 at any time running into the Randall RM 100 COMBO into a 4 x 12 MESA Rectifier cab. The RM 100 has the Salvation MDA board installed. I don't use the Synergy 2 rack preamp, and the Syn 50/50 rack power amp that much,. To me the Randall RM 100 ( limited to One channel per module operation) sounds much more complex, and lively. Go figure? Do I really need this Herbert? LOL
Great song....I was listening on headphones and it sounded a little dark?
Just skip to 6:04 everything before is really cheap sounding 80's stuff (which is great for the right module)
Although Sunergy stuff is pretty good, you'd need a Diezel powersection because that is an essential part of the sound. And the Diezel transformers. But for Live shows, this thing cooks. Any clips through the almighty 2150?
I might be able to swing that in another vid
but this can be also very interesting if you have a syn 1 or 2 you can try different poweramps with each modul, man i thought it sounded a little weak the vh4 for sure until i paired it with a mesa 395, now this its a new universe of sound, no joke, the syn 50/50 poweramp is also not the way to go here in my experience, much to weak causes by the little transformers to fit into 1HE
what do you think would be the best way to get the Custom Audio 3+SE tone without actually having to get the amp? i’ve been trying to get the Countdown to extinction tone, but i don’t know what would be the best amp to do it with without having to spend a lot of money on reverb for one of the preamps.
I need to pay off my current Sweetwater account before I buy anything new so can you do more videos without gear in them? Thanks!
Which model is your Les Paul? And what pickups are installed in it?
What's the title of intro song? sounds so cool!
Great video, which module is higher gain, the Herbert or the VH-4?
I think the Herbert is the one for the Diezel tone
Ha! First Comment!!
👍🇺🇲❤LOVE YOUR DEMOS, BUT I ONLY LOVE LESS THAN 1% OF ALL GUITAR GEAR ( THIS ITEM IS NOT 4ME )
Why can't I just make my chords sound that powerful? sheesh
Try drop d.
@@diezelvh4133 I was meaning more of his guitar and tone. Sounded monstrous!
If you were playing a real herbert, the house would be falling down around you. You wouldn't realize it till it was to late. I've spaced off, lost 2 houses already.
HAHAHAHA
I like my soldano Hot Rod 50+ better 🙂
