    This tells me that front neck curls and neck extensions are sufficient for neck development. No side neck curls needed

    would love to actually see the action for better understanding

    • @AnatomyHero
      @AnatomyHero  3 года назад

      In some of my later muscle videos I start by showing the actions, unfortunately I don't have anything on the neck!
      Neck flexion = bending the neck so the head tilts straight forward (chin towards chest)
      Neck extension = bending the neck So the head tilts backwards (like you are trying to look at the ceiling)
      Lateral flexion = bending the neck so the head tilts sideways (like you are trying to touch your ear to your shoulder)
      Elevating the shoulders = raising your shoulders straight up (like you are trying to touch your ears with your shoulders)
      Hope that helps, good luck in your studies!

    Do you have one about the insertion and origin of these muscles? I get confused on these as well as lever systems

    • @AnatomyHero
      @AnatomyHero  Год назад

      Sorry, I do not have a video that talks about origin and insertion. Are you just having trouble memorizing them? Or are you having trouble finding information about them? If you have a specific question I can try and answer.
      I don't have a video on level systems either... but I think this video does a good job of explaining it: ruclips.net/video/A0y_2b8SSbs/видео.html

      @@AnatomyHero Both. The ones my teacher discussed I don't understand what makes one the insertion vs origin. I have a hard time understanding them. But I haven't found a video naming them.

      @@MsPslater I think a text book would be your best bet to find origin and insertion. I highly recommend Marieb's human anatomy and physiology. The 9th edition (It has a volleyball player on the cover) can usually be found for cheap... It is the most student friendly anatomy and physiology book with the best pictures, including big charts of all the muscles with origin and insertion. If you are located in the US, search for it on Amazon and then go to used copies. (The search results will say several hundred dollars, but that's not accurate. You have to specifically go and look at the used ones).
      Until you get a good book, I suggest you look for free charts of origin and insertion on the internet.
      As far as what they are... Muscles only pull in one direction. The insertion part is the part that is going to get pulled and the origin is what it gets pulled towards. Just think of it like a rope. You attach a rope to the insertion and then pull your rope towards the origin. So for example the insertion of the sternocleidomastoid is on the mastoid process, the origin is on both the clavicle and the sternum. If you attached a rope to both of your mastoid processes and pulled then towards your sternum and clavicle... Your head would bend forward. (Neck flexion)
      Hope that helps!
