Wells Fargo was still keeping tabs on him. There is a letter from him to his wife that describes how he was starting to get quite annoyed that they were still following him.
Nice story but not factually correct. Black Bart ( Alvy Boles) is buried in the Old Placerville Cemetery Plot 81. The photo that has been thought to be Charles Boles was taken in a San Francisco photo studio. Wells Fargo claims the rights to the photo since they feel he owes them so much money. The man in the photo is Alvy Boles. They did look similar when dressed in top hat and tails which was the fashion of the day back then. Alvy Boles lived out the later days of his life in Genoa, NV. I am Alvy Boles great great grandson. David Boles.
That is not correct. Alvy Boles was a totally different man and was not Charles Boles. The man buried in Marysville is also not Boles. That story is totally preposterous. Wells Fargo messenger George Hackett lived one block from the supposed Black Bart, the druggist, and would have recognized him in an instant if he was Black Bart. John Boessenecker
Did you take a DNA test?
Why was he hiding.. He did his time.
