  • I had this one of newest Garmin watches, Forerunner 55, for almost 3 months - putting it through its paces and running hundreds of kilometres to get a good comparison and undertand how it stacks up with Fenix 6X or Forerunner 745, while being much cheaper. I noticed for really amazing aspects, as well as some negative ones. This is what I am talking about in details in this video - helping to understand who is this Forerunner 55 best for. I am talking about fitness tracking, battery life, durability, other features like body battery, recovery tracking etc. I also touch on connecting heart rate monitors, like Garmin HRM Pro and if it really brings any benefit (spoiler alert - Forerunner 55 does not support any running dynamics features of HRM Pro) and other aspects such as Training Status, which might be a deal breaker for some.
I had some issues with focus in this one and used a bit different style of cutting in to most important parts - I wonder if it make any difference for you while watching. Happy to answer any questions about the watch or its features. Enjoy!

Accuracy is as good as Fenix or Forerunner - didn’t see any discrepancy which would make any real difference. About Charing port - in manual, as I remember, it says that charging port need to be cleaned before carving to avoid corrosion. I personally cover it with rubber cover which you can get bunch of for very cheap on eBay or aliexpress. To be honest I saw bunch of preppie not caring about port at all and having no problems, but not sure if everyone is not taking a watch for weeks off their hand. Also salty water - I would be worried about sea water - it cause corrosion easier, so I would wash the watch after submerging into salty water or would further use rubber cover.

@@wza360 what a wonderful information you gave... i am confused between forerunner 55 and 245, could you suggest me one.

@@Aspiringpsychologist fr55 is much newer device - mostly you can feel it in battery life - Garmin applied some new tech used in Enduro watch. But 245 has few more exercise features (like load tracking). So if you choose between these two, compare features and pick ones you will use + have price in mind. You might get a good deal on 245 because it’s older ie
