- Introducing the most detailed sample library we have ever created, and the first in a new flagship series created in partnership with Abbey Road Studios. Crafted for professional composers, producers and sound designers, Abbey Road Orchestra will bring you every section of the orchestra in breathtaking detail.
Low Percussion offers you a whole new level of expression, thanks to over 20 years of sampling experience and innovation. Performed by internationally-renowned percussionist Joby Burgess (Black Panther, Mission: Impossible), and engineered by Grammy-winning engineer Simon Rhodes (Skyfall, Avatar), it’s like having your very own world-class percussionist.

As a percussionist, I LOVE that you sampled different sticks and mallets for each drum. I love that detail in a percussion library. I'll be picking this one up! I look forward to seeing the entire orchestra come to fruition with this level of detail with the sound of Abbey Road, though it makes me look at my BBCSO with sad eyes!
It'll be long years into the future before that ultra-detailed orchestra is complete. BBC SO will have 'lived up to its price' by the time that happens. So don't be so sad. Peace from Saudi Arabia. ^^
So it is officially confirmed that this _is_ indeed the long-awaited Abbey Road Modular Orchestra. Or at the very least, the first module of it. This is exciting!
As a percussionist, left and right hand separation is a GAME CHANGER! Take my money...
Pictures of the actual instruments included in the interface would be very helpful. I've always wished there were actual pictures of the mic setups as well.
This is definitely a trick they're missing. A simple graphic should be easy to implement in an update.
Congratulations @Spitfire Audio on this first release of Abbey Road Orchestra! This is a huge milestone for you, and I can't wait until we can see the rest of the modules.
The shear depth of this library bodes well for Spitfire Audio. If it is any indication of what we can expect from the future modules, Abbey Road Orchestra may very well become the most complete orchestral library ever created.
Please, please have fff dynamics on your future modules, especially brass. It's the one disadvantage Spitfire has compared to other libraries
I would love to be given the option to select which mic signals I want to download, like Orchestral Tools does. That would make downloads faster and, most importantly, save a ton of space on the hard drive.
Thanks to the entire team! This is a game changer. Paul with the great demo as always. Definitely saving up for this one. Thank you!
This Is Really A Very Detailed Percussion Library! I Am Eagerly Waiting For Other Sections Of Abbey Road Orchestra.
Ok… you got me…. I guess I’m willing to try out the entire library for free for the next 5 years to see how it sounds and give a positive review.
🤣
I never buy anything unless Justin says it's worth the money.
That is a class library for sure!
I LOVE Spitfire! This will be very interesting and a lot of fun.
I dream that this magnificent achievement will be the first stone of a total, ultimate and fantastic orchestra, like a new world of samples, like a world symphony! Is Spitfireaudio able to venture into this ascent?
And always this great musical class of Paul Thomson whose examples and explanations are always guided by great subtlety. Really, how not to love the SpitfireAudio spirit!
Another pinnacle yes!
What I'm always concerned about when you release new orchestral libraries is: all the instruments don't have these high punchy fff dynamics and everything feels like it's mf at best - but sometimes I need high dynamics. Thats the reason why I haven't bought your orchestral stuff in years now and after testing I was also really happy that I didn't buy any BBC library. I hope you expanded the dynamic range of the Strings, Woodwinds and Brass, because I'd really like to have a nice Abbey Road Orchestra on my computer to replace my current symphony orchestra.
Another thing is the disk space. When I think about the disk space of the BBC orchestra I'm really concerned about this one. Only the Low Percussion being 100Gb - I don't want to think about the size of the whole orchestra.
I agree that disk space is definitely becoming an issue. Thunderblade's are great but very expensive. Samsung T7s only are available up to 2 TB. I realize this is not a SpitfireAudio specific issue, but still something composers are dealing with.
@@OfficialStevenCravis wait... Can you actually run the libraries of an SSD? Cause I'm struggling with onboard storage
@@EnochAttey yes, especially if you have a Thunderbolt 3 (like USB-C) or similar connection, and NVMe seem to work especially well. NVMe (nonvolatile memory express) is a new storage access and transport protocol for flash and next-generation solid-state drives (SSDs) that delivers the highest throughput and fastest response times
@@EnochAttey what works well I find, on an external SSD is make separate folders for each company who’s libraries you get. I found that makes it easier to make sure if I’ve got sonething already since so many libraries are available and companies repeat their sales throughout every year :-)
@@OfficialStevenCravis how much does the response time matter? i've been running most of my sampling libraries off an hdd
I just got this for free included in the Jeff Russo bundle, by spinning the Black Friday wheel! This sounds very promising :)
I appreciate the all-in-one patch being there, because one of my biggest gripes BBCSO has always been having to load a new track for each individual articulation, and my Mac can only take so much. My Logic session's crashed few times because the load was so much. Especially made it annoying when trying to do mixing. I hope this all-in-one does become more standard practice from now on. It would certainly save my CPU load.
The Spitfire Player lets you create your own patches with your own configuration of articulations.
how always very good libraries, thanks a lot
The pinnacle of orchestral sampling? Now that's a tall order, so awaiting with little patience😁
Hopefully it's the Abbey Road sound with the Hans Zimmer mic selections, with the extra articulations of Albion IV/V
When will we know the release dates for all of the ARO installations. Very interested and I need it soon lol
Bank of America? I’d just like to let you know I’ll be making a foreign debit card purchase on Thursday morning. 9:05 AM Pacific. For what? I don’t know yet. For how much? I mean, fingers crossed, right?
😂
Same here!!

Absolutely! Bankruptcy here I come 😂😅
This is looking really impressive, Hoping a legato AR Strings is on the horizon 🤞
Nexus 3 and VPS Avenger also got many "live loops" for long time . In Avenger you can also do whatever you want with sounds , only "no idea" can stop you . Here i dont see that freedom .But to be honest i see here some unique ideas which are only here so that is great that aren't " copy and paste " only with many samples . Not for me but i can recommend that for few people which i think will be happy if they can use this :)
*Spitfire Audio* if one records into the DAW each instrument on separate tracks, centered stereo, do they all fall into their own stage position, or do we need to pan for different positioning?
Absolutely brilliant 👏 Bankruptcy here I come 😂😅
I am wondering if this new series is meant to replace the Abbey Road One libraries. I would like to think that new AR1 libraries will continue to be released, including solo instrument libraries, and that Abbey Road Orchestra will simply supplement our other options with more nuanced performances and mic arrangements.
Seems like the Abbey Road One libraries are ensembles. Pre-orchestrated instruments, while the Abbey Road Orchestra libraries will be like traditional orchestra libraries. Individual instruments you can then put together on your own to orchestrate
@@ErnestoComposer You might be right about Abbey Road One being comprised of ensembles only. I am trying to confirm this by reviewing Spitfire's own descriptions of Abbey Road One vs. Abbey Road Orchestra. Maybe this new "Orchestra" series is what Paul was alluding to in their introduction to AR1. (ruclips.net/video/vUnylkQsDrU/видео.html at 5 min. 6 sec.) If this is the case, it sounds like these two series are intended to be used together?
@@ErnestoComposer The intro to a new video by Spitfire Audio Clips (ruclips.net/video/N4X_0gB8J0Y/видео.html) describes Abbey Road Orchestra and Abbey Road One Orchestral Foundations as two "totally different" ranges. Still not clear whether Abbey Road One will ever feature solo instrument libraries.
Following up, it appears that the two ranges, despite being "totally different", are being produced to play well together. If ARO supplements rather than replaces AR1, then I think all is well.
@@musar03580 AR1 is like Albion One. All in one, quick to work with, less detailed. ARO is like Spitfire Symphonic Orchestra. Individual soloists and sections, more expensive, more detailed.
I hope this is High Strings selection . It's been too long not to have the complete AR library.
Or... soloists?
Thanks & Congratulations !
While I love how the drums "bloom in the room" in isolation while auditioning sounds, it's sounding a bit unrealistic/exaggerated in full mixes due to the lack of dampening from the lack of other players present in the room. Do you have guidance on how to resolve that with separately recorded samples?
Very nice sweet spot of each instrument!
Individual sections recorded in Abbey Road One would be amazing
That's what this is going to be. It's just a question of how much is released today, as this is the Abbey Road Modular Orchestra. We don't know yet how the modules will be divided, but the first one releases in just over 30 minutes!
@@Justin.Franks yes, I saw thr IG posts! I’m beyond excited. I’ve been waiting for them to begin this journey ever since AR1 dropped, and now they do and it just happens to be my birthday hahah

With a fast computer and sufficient storage I'm not concerned about technical issues, but I'd like to see a video about integrating this with BBC SO Pro.
I think this would be great for scoring Vangelis songs
WOW!
Does anyone know.. if this eventual entire set "replaces" the Abbey Road One stuff I paid a bit for? Or is this going to compliment it? I am just a hobbyist.. and spent a bit on Abbey Road one.. hate to think this is largely going to duplicate (but add to and/or improve upon) what I already spent a bit on. If there were an upgrade path for example.. that would be great. That's probably the one thing I appreciate about NI's Complete/etc.. you can usually save quite a bit with upgrades.
Hi Kevin! Abbey Road Orchestra has been crafted for professional composers, producers, sound designers and music editors, bringing you every section of the orchestra in breathtaking detail. Abbey Road One: Orchestral Foundations and the subsequent Film Scoring Selections are a range of ensemble libraries captured in Studio One. The Selections are smaller and more focused libraries inspired by classic films, offering pre-orchestrated instrument pairings and themes. If you already own Abbey Road One during the promotional period you will save an additional 11% off the introductory pricing. This will be a full 31% off the RRP.
Good!
Amazing!😮 Whoa!
Too many mics for me, but sounds good :)
Is it very promising for the rest to come 🤩🥳
Why do you ignore MIDI 2.0?
How long will the introductory pricing & AR1 discounts be available for?
(ignore me, should have read the FAQs. 1st December incase anyone else is wondering :) )
Great sound! wow
The biggest question is... will those of us who have bought Abbey Road Collection, get this at a discount like all other installments?
I feel like I just got screwed. I was hoping for high strings to round out AR One....but nope...gotta buy a whole new set now and start from scratch.
I noticed upon log in, the $349 intro price shows as $309.
Hi Josh! Yes, owners of Orchestral Foundations during the promotional period will save an additional 11% off the introductory pricing. This will be a full 31% off the RRP.
Let’s go!
When will the next library be released? and how many modules will there be? At least provide a roadmap/schedule.
Nice video for a definitely interesting product, if the economic crisis was not here I would certainly use my credit card tonight. But, even if we all love to see Paul, it would have been great to illustrate it with images of the real instruments and their associated beaters/sticks. How a "jun" does looks? Or a "daegon" and a "gong bass drum?
Absolutely great point. There is certainly room in the minimalist UI to include a high res pic of each instrument. For ALL the libraries would be great!!!
@@blue-balance @F L H 3 , I totally agree!
@@blue-balance I was not thinking about the GUI but about the video itself.
(For the GUI, in order to avoid to clutter it up, a switch to open a series of photographs of the selected instrument could be an idea)
@@FLH3official Adding visual of the drums and the associated beaters/sticks to the video would be super helpful!
@@blue-balance I know Spitfire people read the comments, if Paul or Christian think it's a good idea they will maybe do it next time.
Amazing again. X)

Abbey Road actually doesn't allow IRs to be recorded. As does most of the best recording spaces. AIR Lyndhurst doesn't allow it either.
@@Justin.Franks he's joking, i believe
Is this and will the rest of the collection be NKS compatible?
Hello! It's not NKS compatible yet but we're working on an update very soon!
@@spitfireaudiollp excellent! I'll be looking out for it.
Great sounding library! Are all your sample starts finally 125 ms with this library? I really hope for the day Spitfire emulates Audio Imperia's ease of use and attention to detail for user experience.
Hmm, a guess: ‘Abbey Road Cinematic Percussion’?
Is he using Doepfer Mk4 Midi keyboard?....
YEAHHHH
I have a feeling i'm going to be out of money after this one...
🤣🤣🤣 I have the same suspicions
@@tonikit3613 Spitfire audio...Bizness Bizness 349 € ....😂😂😂😂
Hmm, this sounds awesome, but also feels like a bit of a marketing trick... What about the modular Abbey Road One stuff? Those modules were affordable. 449,- € for JUST low percussion?!?! So what will the string section cost? 1399,-???
This is definitely Abbey Road Modular! Right? An Abbey Road Percussion library would be great too though :)
I'm thinking Abbey Road soloists? It would be like Albion and BBC all rolled into a new environment.
I think that it's classic orchestral percussion with Abbey road...this is the only thing that they've never did with them
I think you could call it: Final Abbey Road Toolkit, or FART, for short.
Edit: Where's the Roadmap?
I Can't believe this is absolutely free!!😊
Nice! I was hoping there would be more to ARO Selections like Legato Violins (and a patch with 8va) but I guess the focus is to sell a whole new orch library instead putting BBC Orch out to the pasture.
Hmmmm i wish they had done a comolete Percussion pack. Somebody Else missing Timpani, cymbals, Glockenspiel, celesta, harp?
Why so many downvotes

Nah, certainly it sounds really great....." crafted for professional composers, producers " etc. But I want to say this - I feel myself to be basically a hobbyist in the music production, although I try to achieve the best possible results......I bought " Hammers " some time ago - also quite expensive, again some 100 GBs (!) of percussion (!) sounds....but at the end I've got a feeling that I could really use some two gigabytes out of it :-) - in other words : it is too big, too expensive, giving uselessly too much possibilities, that I never needed until now. I personally wouldn't invest in such a stuff again. Of course - if they would invite me to create the music for the next " Lord of the Rings " movie, I would think about this one seriously....🙂 Anyway - if someone is capable enough to use all the features, congratulations - I wish him all the best. Enjoy !
as amazing as the quality of this is, I have to question the level of effort one has to put in to program the automation for this, as opposed to just recording an orchestra with your score. don't get me wrong I love my spitfire stuff, but the level of detail going into this makes me feel that the price for all of this to include the sample libraries themselves, and then the programming time to make it as realistic as possible, might not be as cost effective as you might think. this first module is expensive for just low percussion. if you were to think about the full orchestra when its available, it'll be very expensive. and also we have to wait for all these new modules to come out. remember, if you have composed your own score, an orchestra from Budapest can record all of your work in a session for £1k
Give me the same deal as Justin Potts wants and I'll give you a review from the Emerald City, USA.
Disappointed. Was hoping for Abbey Road One high strings....but no....now you have to buy another orchestra and you only get low percussion right now.
