    i see a lotta people hate the facial expression which is fair but tbh i respect it since it just shows how much this music means to these guys and how into it they are

    why are people hating on the dude with facial expressions? he’s just adoring the moment and what he does, let him be. even if it distracts you, he’s doing it for himself.

    Sorry for not meeting the so called "Cadets standard" I'll practice harder trying to not have as much fun or getting into the music! But for real just how I drum and emote, my bad lol 😂

      “SoRrY fOr NoT mEeTiNg ThE CaDeTs StAnDaRd”
      -the literal son of the caption head
      Screw everyone on here hiding behind a keyboard making negative comments. Like I said to someone else earlier, you guys were one of the most enjoyable lines to watch in the lot this year, and definitely surpassed the Cadets standard in my eyes. I’m really looking forward to what you guys bring in 2023!

      Seeing people enjoy what they do is important and exciting. Fuck the haters. Reminds me of Matt Halpern and i love watching him drum.

    Folks: for 30 years I’ve heard, “those drummers are so stoic” and now they are showing expression and people have an issue? Has one considered when in competition the audience is 25 yards away, or more….they need to project to the crowd and judges.

    • @spadetrotter7400
      @spadetrotter7400 Год назад +5

      Stoic was a feature, not a bug.
      They have big noise making devices strapped to them that can project everything necessary.

    • @Jayhadd21
      @Jayhadd21 Год назад +1

      The percussion Judge is right there with them he can definitely see everything he needs to. Stoic was the standard, find you place, stare, play your heart out.

    Not every note, nor every phrase, deserves that amount of hype. Play clean and people will get it, you need not convince us that what we hear is the best thing since sliced lefts.

    • @TimmyK916
      @TimmyK916 2 года назад +10

      It’s embarrassing. Look like you’ve been there before and you aren’t so impressed with yourself. I’m much more likely to be impressed by clean beats with a ‘this is easy’ flat facial expression than some cringe acting trying to sell every lick.

      then pay attention to their playing? i dont see how their mouths have anything to do with the quality of their performance. If anything it makes it more engaging and energetic

      DCI is supposed to be played as a unit. I respect the aggression but it looks off if the whole group isn’t doing it. Mad chops though I have to give you that!
