Finally, I see real wildlife! Kingfishers in the wild, not lured to a fish tank so a photographer in a hide can take a perfectly sharp shot. None of those photos will ever win a contest because the judges know exactly how they were taken. But here - this is real nature! An otter not from a zoo, but truly wild and free - and that’s what matters! This is the kind of content people want to see. Real expeditions, wild animals, nothing tamed. I love this kind of photography!😃😃😃😃
Thank you 🙏🏻 I do still feel that hides have a benefit in photography although they are not for some. The fact you can get some really unique photos without disturbing them is a positive. Obviously it’s all down to the hide owner, my friend owns one and it’s done in the right way over a natural lake and he is rewilding 80 acres of land to help the wildlife. I host a podcast called WildX and the episode with David Plummer we discuss this in details it’s well worth a watch 👍🏻
I 100% agree with you on the mental health benefits of photography, I have a very dangerous and stressful job and if it wasn't for my passion of photography and also my dog, I don't know what I would do. while I was out today shooting Osprey I bumped into a mate I used to work with. He lost both legs above the knee, 1 arm above the elbow and also his right hand. He was also out shooting landscape with the help of a mate carrying the tripod, but he has an attachment of his right carbon fiber hand that holds a pen to operate the touch screen on the back of his camera - amazing and inspirational
Great video, always enjoy watching your videos, your enthusiasm is contagious! And well done to you for taking out your friend who struggles with his mental health. Nature and photography sure does help. I suffer with severe depression and it’s the only thing that helps me. Thank you
Thank you 🙏🏻 yes I myself have been in very dark places following a traumatic event whilst I was young and wildlife photography saved me, so it’s important for me to encourage others to get out in nature too 🙏🏻 thank you for your honesty ☺️
Brilliant video Mike so pleased for Harry to have a great mentor with his mental health issues and looking after him taking him out for the wildlife 👍🏻👍🏻
Lovely video and I like the incidental music that you use for the background. You had a phenomenal day with both otters and kingfishers, astonishing to see them in the same shot. Appreciate the field notes…next time I see a kingfisher I’m going to be looking for the otter👍🏻

Very much enjoyed your latest adventure with Harry. What kit is Harry using?
I recommend you stealth gear photographic trolley, better with yellow, wheels full of silicone. Beautiful video and photo 👍🙋🇮🇪
