The Nintendo Switch Lite currently stands as what I would consider the best value Switch available- at least until the Switch 2 finally drops. For $200, it's hard to beat- and I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo keeps it around at that same price tag even after the Switch 2 releases. But what about you, anyone have the Switch Lite? How do you like it, is it worth it in 2024?
Yea I’ve had a few different switches over its lifespan. Just recently scooped a LTE, for me personally it was a no brainer. I already had over a hundred games waiting. GG
*Switch* *Lite* Picked up another turquoise Switch Lite the other night from OfferUp in brand new condition for $130. Loving it again! But this better be my last time. This is the fourth Switch Lite I bought. Broke the previous two turquoises and didn’t like the coral. I feel like John Wayne in that I Love Lucy episode that had to keep making those footprints on wet cement. I think Switch Lite has become my most *rebought* gadget of all-time. But it’s my absolute favorite form factor of the Switch. Let’s see if fourth time’s the charm. And this is my third turquoise Lite which could be third time’s the turquoise charm. I’m still mad at myself for messing up the previous Lite I had. I will not make the same mistakes again. I’ll use my SN30 Pro so the left stick will not wear out after 7 months like it did with my first Lite. And I plan to always use the velcro strap when it’s inside the case. No more accidental falls when I forget that the zipper is open and then watch it crashing to the floor resulting in a hairline crack on the screen. Maybe I’ll get the Switch OLED again but I’m content with only owning the Lite. I just couldn’t tolerate the weight and width of the OLED. And I miss how sharp the graphics looks on the Lite thanks to the smaller screen but higher ppi. I miss the real d-pad too. Only thing to tolerate with my new Lite is the worse battery life. I only had the OLED for 6 days but it definitely had noticeably better battery life. If I got an OLED again and many do go for $250 or less on OfferUp considering the sellers know the Switch 2 is coming, then I would need to deregister my Lite as the primary console. That gets annoying. I would always need to have an Internet connection for a moment to play my games because it’s no longer the primary. Might as well wait for the Switch 2 instead of getting another OLED. I think when buying a handheld, I believe comfort is the most important thing to me and then battery life considering I don’t game for hours like before. Probably why I would go for the Retroid Pocket 4 over the Odin 2. True, it’s weaker. Worse battery life. But it’s cheaper by $100 and it’s smaller and more pocketable. Smaller, lighter, and cheaper are the key factors when purchasing a handheld for me. Size, weight, and hand comfort are all important for me. They’re called handhelds for a reason. You want your hands to feel comfortable when holding it. I don’t want to return to the days carrying bricks like the Game Gear and Atari Lynx. I’ll likely wait for the Switch Lite 2 by 2026. North American releases - DS: 2004 DS Lite: 2006 PSP: 2005 PSP slim: 2007 PS Vita: 2012 PS Vita slim: 2014 Switch: 2017 Switch Lite: 2019 Switch 2: 2024? Switch 2 Lite: 2026? Wait every two years. There will probably be a smaller PS Portal too which will include Bluetooth. With bigger consoles, it’s waiting three years (2006->2009, 2013->2016, 2020->2023) although PS5 slim is not that much smaller. We have these large smartphones already including foldables that weigh over 250g. Now you want to carry another brick for gaming? The PSP 2K and the PS Vita 2K models remain the most comfortable handhelds I’ve ever owned. It’s why I still own them and planning not to sell them. Weight - PSP: 280g PSP slim: *189g* PS Vita: 260g PS Vita slim: *219g* PS Portal: 529g Switch: 398g Switch Lite: *277g* Switch OLED: 420g Pimax Portal Retro: 306g Odin 2: 420g Anbernic RG405M: 260g Retroid Pocket 3+: 235g Retroid Pocket 4/4 Pro: 251g Steam Deck: 669g Steam Deck OLED: 640g So the Odin 2 is as heavy as the Switch OLED with the Joy-Con attached? I did get used to using the OLED but I still got wrist fatigue after 20 minutes. Not exactly the best size and weight while sitting on a toilet 🚽. I think my max weight for any handheld is no heavier than the Switch Lite but no taller and wider than the Vita. Steam Deck OLED is the best handheld out there but I’m torn if I really want a PC handheld or not. I really couldn’t tolerate the Switch OLED size, now imagine the Steam Deck? Then I’d play Red Dead Redemption at 30 fps on my Lite and start to think how much better the sequel looks on the more powerful Deck. I can barely hear what they’re saying in RDR because the Switch Lite’s speakers are so soft. Still waiting for that Switch 2 announcement. I still kept the slim case for the OLED and I’m hoping the Switch 2 (or Switch 2 Lite) can someday fit in it and be of similar size but be much lighter and thinner. This likely wins out for me thanks to the many Nintendo exclusives. I wish there was a Chinese handheld that looks like the RG405M but lighter and still have the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
yesss and if anyone want cheaper price dont buy directly from switch store, rather try to find retailer at ur local shop because sometimes its 20-30$ USD cheaper compare to original price. as for game, first party game: go for physical, its ALWAYS going to be cheaper from eshop. meanwhile for third party game: go for eshop since these game always on huge discount.
The switch is my safe haven during the first few months of the pandemic being stuck at the hospital due to work. Playing animal crossing put my tired body and mind at ease. This small little handheld is special.
@@basedretard844 tbh you haven't lived I went through so you makes sense you don't know what I am talking about. And we do have a day/sick leaves still can't take care of others optimally if one is sick as well. Rest is not just physical but mental, emotional even spiritual as well. A few hours away from the stress even just a few minutes can work wonders.
I just bought a switch lite in Japan this January 24 because all the marketing materials look so good there. And yes for just casual gaming with nintendo titles like pokemon or mario, I couldn’t be happier with it.
I started with a yellow Lite (I bought it right before the shutdown specifically to play New Horizons). I was curious about what I was missing so I traded it in for a full Switch. I found that I still play handheld all the time. My husband bought me the Isabelle special edition Lite for Christmas this year and now I know that, for me, the Lite is my favorite way to play Switch games
I have an Xbox and a ps5 so I really don’t feel I’ll need it for the tv, as well as that my brother had a normal switch and with removing the controllers a lot to play with others his left one stopped sensing when it was reconnected so he basically couldn’t play it anymore
Anyone thinking of a Switch Lite in 2024 is in for a treat. Some fantastic deals on used systems, typically advertised as very little use (the reason for the sale in the first place) It’s the best way to play Nintendo games on the go. Add a Satisfye grip and case for a better experience and have fun.
@danielbradler6546 unfortunately that’s where Nintendo falls short🤷♂️ the Eshop is absolutely terrible they never have good deals on any Nintendo exclusives, the fact that games from 2017 are going for $60 is absurd
Just bought one with basically no use for 65€. Bought mod chip for it from china so all my games will be free 😉. With android dualboot it will also be amazing emulation machine. Unbeatable value.
Hi I bought mine yesterday, ppl saying the battery discharges fast but I see videos of zelda tears of the kingdom doing more than 3h of gameplay, how is that bad? 😂 Any opinion?
If anyone is considering getting this model, definitely pick up a silicone grip/cover. Just makes holding it so much more comfortable and then get a slightly bulkier case so you can put that with the cover in.
@@vinnydarrc3953 the switch lite comes with a screen protector already on it. I found that out after buying screen protector(s) to go on mine and noticed how thick the screen was. 😂🤦♀️I said "There's already a screen protector on it." My dad had been watching me struggle to try to put the first two on without collecting hair and dust under the cover (which I failed miserably at). I then noticed that the screen protector provided was crooked (probably my fault from trying to straighten the screen protectors on top of the one that already existed 🤦♀️). My dad said "pay attention. Now leave that one alone." So what did I do? Because I'm a perfectionist, I took the screen protector (that it came with) off. It has a pretty sturdy build and it's geared towards a younger audience, who tend to drop their devices more.
If you never bought a nintendo switch ever and you're wondering if you should wait for the switch 2, buy a nintendo switch lite USED. Save your money for the new console
The only games I’m interested in are pretty much the 2 Zelda games, am I making a mistake by not being able to play them on a big screen? I honestly couldn’t imagine playing an open world like red dead 2 on handheld
If Switch 2 is around the size of a Switch OLED, I hope they make an updated Switch Lite; hopefully being slightly smaller so it easily fits in your pocket (Lite has a lot of bezel, so making it smaller wouldn't necessarily mean shrinking the screen down). I wouldn't want pocketable handhelds to be extinct.
While I do like smaller handhelds that can be in my pocket, I'd be against that The screen itself is already quite small for what games you play, I'd rather they make use of the whole bezel space, but also it kinda feels bad to play for long if too small too
You know they will. The point of the switch lite is to give people a more affordable option and it's usually for the casuals. I got one because I was low on the funds back in 2021and still use it to this day. I would like a switch oled but at this point I rather spend the money on a the switch 2. I rarely console game so it was enticing to me
My ideal upgrade for the switch lite would be Oled screen and use the thick bezel as more screen so it can be just a tad bigger, and better battery life never hurts👀
I bought a lite over summer 23.. my thoughts, I only really wanted a handheld and figured there was something new coming sooner than later. This would also be my first console since GB advance sp and I wasn’t sure how much use it would even get as I mostly bought it for one game. I still use it often and am happy with my choice.
@@servantbyday bought for RainWorld originally but I also ended up getting a year of nintendo online after the fact. Mostly for the n64 Games I grew up with.. Have bought a handful of other games too but still have the most time into RW by far lol
I have had the lite for a few years now and am overall happy with it. I have been thinking of upgrading to the OLED but at this point, as long as it's backward compatible, i might as well just wait until the switch 2.
I think a second hand Switch Lite is the best option right now for those who want portable gaming on the cheap. I have a gaming laptop but it's too big to be able to just take anywhere> Even Steam Deck and other portable PC's are just too expensive for someone who just wants a device to take for weekends or holidays away from home. This device is perfect for that.
In my opinion, the last mayor update from one home console to another for Nintendo was the Game Cube. Ever since every new console is the previous one with more extras. Wii = Game Cube with motion controls Wii U = Wii in HD Switch = Wii U portable with a Dock
That's..... super reductive lol. Calling Wii a gamecube with motion control literally miss the whole point of the console IS the motion controller.... If you want to call 3DS as DS with 3D gimmick then that's okay, but the whole Wii library is games for motion controller....
I am the owner of a Switch Lite. In the beginning I got a lot of use and joy out of it. The regular Switch has the advantage of couch co-op like the good old Wii days. But I can recommend the Switch Lite as well. My favorite game is Brilliant Diamond, even though it's not a great game, for the nostalgia.
Can I get any of your opinions? I'm thinking of buying a Switch Lite in the coming weeks. I tend to like games that I can pick up for 30 minutes then put down. Think Mario Bros, Donkey Kong Country or any puzzle game. Eg something to play while on a flight. Am I making the right decision with a Switch Lite?
Just got it last month. Already own an v1 and oled. I dont know whats the point, but the lite become my main switch and its always in my bag when i got to work, outside etc. Damm portable
I’d have to agree. I own an OLED and recently purchased an Lite 4 days ago and I prefer the lite of the OLED. The form factor is more comfortable and with talks about an Oled mod coming out for the lite, I don’t think I’d ever touch my oled mode again
I like the oled more even tho I don’t own a lite my friend let me borrow his because he goes on base. I really enjoy the oled gonna be Gonna be honest yes it heavier and stuff but it just dies faster but it really could just be his battery on his since he used it so much..
I bought a switch lite second hand for 50 bucks, best purchase ive ever made. Im in awe of how many food deals there are for games on the e shop, ive boughten quite a few collections of great games for less than ten bucks. The south oark games i got both gold editions for less than 15, the portal collection for 7 bucks. i think the value of this console is amazing and has endless hours of fun to be had.
The issue with the Switch lite is that they did not make it a clam shell design for optimal handheld design. With the tablet design u need to re angle the entire unit instead of just the screen like on the DS. And it helps so much with portability if u could just fold it and toss it into your backpack without worrying about scratching your display.
The DS and 3DS lines were the only clamshell handhelds. Every other handheld by Nintendo and anyone else has been a "tablet" design for lack of a better word.
Still wishing to get a switch lite. Healing my inner child and wanting to playing pokemon violet. I'v only played until black 2 through emulator. i miss playing Pokemon a lot
That's literally me lol. Next you'll tell me you played through a phone emulator back in 2017 after getting burnt out from pokemon go cause that's exactly what happened for me
After year 1 of the Switch it was "Switch Pro/2" talk..... It may not even be a handheld!!! I started with a Lite 3yrs ago and then a year later on release the OLED. Great system STILL!!!!
There's always a contingent of late adopters. To them I'd say wait and see if Nintendo puts out some late stage revision this year, either a few months before or after the Switch successor. They've done this before. Game Boy Micro, DSi XL, Wii mini, New 3DS XL etc.
Yeah I've held off long enough thinking they'd do an OLED Lite so I'll wait to pull the Tigger around holiday time. But as you said I could wait a bit longer but I do want it by this year. I might get a Dbrand Skin too but that new Zelda themed Lite is VERY TEMPTING.
About stick drift - you can buy replacement stick and replace them under 20 minutes. I had Switch OLED and many times switch lite, and few days ago I bought again switch lite in yellow and I love it again. It’s beautiful color. Compared to OLED model - I play mostly in handheld mode and yes OLED screen is awesome, Lite is much more comfortable and portable.
Fantastic little device, perfect for playing older AAA games and very convenient to use. For reasons I’ll never understand, I actually use it more than my PS5 and PC. There is a big issue though, I bought it specifically for a 9 hour long train trip to visit the family a few months ago, for the majority of that trip, the Switch was essentially unplayable due to how much the sunlight affected the screen. I could barely see a thing, so unless you have a portable blind for public transport, the Lite is far from ideal to travel with on bright days. PS, The Batman Arkham trilogy is not as bad as what was made out in the video, Asylum and City run perfectly, Arkham Night isn’t perfect, but I didn’t have stuttering in the Batmobile anywhere near that bad in my entire play though. There is lots of noticeable FR drops until you clear out a lot of the bad guys on the street, and the graphics aren’t great, but I found that game more than playable.. 🙂
I ended up ordering a switch lite used once the OLED and HDMI mod became available for preorder. I got it on Thursday and already liked that it was smaller. That said, I just sent it out to have a modchip installed, and will add the OLED/HDMI mod once I get it. That will be the ultimate switch!
I already have a pc and ps4 and I don’t really think I’ll play switch on tv much because I’m buying it for the handheld mode and totk but standard switch has a larger screen so now I’m confused
I sold my normal switch and only kept my switch lite. Being more of a pc gamer i only ever use the switch while traveling or on the go so the lite is just better for me... sure it doesn't have the oled screen, but it's just easier to bring along. I think deciding between the models is just a question of what you will use it for. If you wanna couch game or invite some friends over for smash bros get a proper switch... If you just want a cheap(ish) handheld to use on the go the lite is superior in terms of size, weight and just general portability.
Dude that shell, bezel and button combo is so sick! Can’t wait for the gold one to drop so I can give my OG to a loved one, handheld only is just fine for me till the successor
I bought it this February and I love it because I get to play all the best games on the Nintendo switch catalogue and it really wasn’t expensive at all. All the best games are coming down and I don’t have to expend a lot of money. Sometimes with new consoles they take a little longer to take off between they develop games for the console and then you have to pay full price for a game that isn’t really tested by the public. Honestly this is the best time to be a Nintendo switch lite buyer you have all this games coming down and a 7 year old catalogue i mean common?
I was surprised how many people are mixed on the Lite since I see it as a great addition since its a whole 100 dollars cheaper then the base Switch, sure you lose the ability to Switch from handheld to Tv, but if you really want a Switch and need the money for other things, or to simply buy at least 1 game with your tight budget, I'd 100% say its worth it
4:46 Yes the Wii U was a very different console and did not sell well. It makes sense, that the Switch does not have backwards compatability with it (where would you even fit the disc haha). But what about the 3DS ... the Switch is also a successor to the (3)DS line and unlike the Wii U, the 3DS sold well (enough) and also had cartridges. Are the internals very different? Ok ... but the Switch has such a higher power level compared to the 3DS, that it could easily have powered a translation layer or an emulation. Maybe to much time has passed and there is something / some reason I missed, that my memory has lost to the inevitable fading of time. But this question has come up again and again recently in my mind. Also ... Sorry, that this comment is not directly related to the video topic.
It's a very nice little console. I purchased it for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (never cared about Mario, Pokemons or Zelda) and had a nice time. I'm also a huge Piranha Bytes fan, so I enjoyed returning to Gothic on this console. :) It's cheap, especially used so I recommend it if you are looking for something new, but don't want to spend much money
What do u think now? Where the switch 2 is rumored to be release in Q1 of 2025. Im thinking of getting the switch oled, but still comparing it. Is it worth it or just wait another year to potentially buy the switch 2. (Im a new user, and this will be the first time im buying the switch)
Everything about the switch 2 is just a rumor at the moment. Literally, nothing has been confirmed. I read somewhere, that if you keep thinking about "what if", you will have a rough ride. Wgat we do know for sure is that the nintendo switch is available now. Sure, it seems possible we get a successor, but who knows what is certain. I would say you can still get any switch, because of the fantastic library. That being said, I am myself contemplating between a switch oled and lite for mainly handheld play.

my switch lite (blue color) coming tomorrow and i dont have any worries because i just want have fun while playing games.even though switch 2 gonna come soon switch still have at least 2-3 years so i think its still worth it but not oled. i think nintendo should've make oled version pro version of switch... by the way im definetly play persona 5 royal and master detective rain code. i want to play those two more than nintendo games.
i want to buy a switch lite to play the smt v vengence. is there any problems with the drift and is it hackable using the mig switch or even a modchip?
I found a well conditioned switch lite for 100 usd. I live in Sweden where a new switch lite is priced in 300 usd (we have high taxes). I actually want to get a switch oled, but since the switch 2 Is releasing THIS year. I dont want to buy the oled right now. But I still really really really want to play the Mario games. so as a temporary device for a couple of months I am really considering getting the switch lite (used for 100 usd) is this a good idea? yes? no? tell me
You’re in a tough situation haha. If I was in your shoes, I think I would just wait for the switch 2 and hope that it’s backwards compatible with switch games. But the switch 2 is most likely coming with an lcd screen and not an oled. There’s also a switch lite oled custom mod that is being worked on right now. It’s not official, it’s not out yet, and you’d have to take apart a system yourself and change out the screen. (I’m excited for that bc I already own a switch lite). If you have a computer, you could try emulating the games you want to play. I don’t think you need very powerful hardware to do that.
För det priset tycker jag absolut. Sålde min men ångrar det nu några månader senare har en hel del spel digitalt så funderar på plocka upp en begagnad i morgon för 1700 tydligen 2 månader gammal
I believe in 2019 the Lite, V2, and later the OLED all got an upgraded processor (that was downclocked for better battery life) and while docked, you could make it be a little bit more powerful (or efficient) than the 2017 OG model.
Switch Lite is great but it's still a little big for a portable - 3DS still the best. Also, there is no guarentee that the "Switch 2" will have any backwards compatibility at all.
I bought the switch OLED for my sister and myself to use and its great, when she is using it i just emulate the switch games on my pc so we both can still play whenever we want 😎
So yesterday i finally decide to get switch lite because i can't stand sit down in front of my PC anymore to play game for more than 1hours+ Pick switch because most of game that i want to play avaiable in this thing, Got switch lite pokemon sword&shield edition second hand for 150$ with bonus 512GB mmc, travel pouch, thumb grid, and 6 month warranty from the store
Hi I bought mine yesterday, ppl saying the battery discharges fast but I see videos of zelda tears of the kingdom doing more than 3h of gameplay, how is that bad? 😂 Any opinion?
last year I bought a busted switch lite for like 40 bucks, it only needed a new digitizer and i decided to shell swap it too, fantastic value and i love this little handheld
I was about to go pick one up but all the reviews on targets website say the battery is fried and defective after a few months- a year of owning. Can anyone share their experience and what kind of user they are (heavy gamer or lighter gamer)
I’ve had mines since 2021 but didn’t use it actively until late last year I’m scared of it getting drift and tryna see if I should wait for switch 2 or just get oled
i switched from a lite to an OLED purely for portable play and i regret it. Images were much sharper on the lite even at lower resolutions. The oled makes everything look grainy even at 720p. Sure, it's a nice addition to be able to dock the console but it actually provides a downgraded portable experience.
Despite the switch not having better performance, power, and graphics like ps4/ps5 or the xbox one or series but still damn good system. The switch lite is something my brother loves after getting him for christmas last year as he wanted something more portable and use on the go. Bro only wishes their was updated oled model. bigger stretched oled screen, better battery life, more memory, and if possible updated thumbsticks. But that might happen with successor so few more years he has to wait.
I enjoy playing my switch more than all of my other systems. It feels like the games for the bigger consoles are so caught up in micro transactions and graphics that they don’t even care if the game is actually fun to play.
Going to buy my daughter one. So can you play over wifi with friends or its more like story mode. On your own kinda system? Basically like agaisnt the computer? Which is fine cheap and nintendo dam i miss game boy lol
Just got a switch lite and got a bunch of non Nintendo titles like red dead, borderlands collection borderlands 3 resident evil bundle ect, really excited I have a 1500$ gaming pc and own a ROG ally but I wanted something smaller and easier to travel with also a plus I got physical media kinda miss that
Been thinking of selling OG switch, and getting a Lite. Has anyone done this, just can’t decide. Would it be downgrade? I am not to bothered about dock mode.
I have both and I prefer the Lite. If I didn't care about playing on a TV, I would go ahead and trade it in for a Lite. It is much more ergonomic and portable to carry around and I only use the Lite on the go. The regular has way too many moving parts that can get broken if you drop it but the Lite is all in one piece. I saw a post online of someone whose kid completely ripped the joycons from the rails. When something like this happens or if it suffers a bad drop, the joycons won't pair in handheld mode because the sensor that detects the joycons is damaged. This also means that the Switch itself won't be able to charge joycons, even if you buy a new set of joycons. It will still work in docked mode using Bluetooth because Bluetooth doesn't required the sensors required to detect joycons but what's the point if you your sole purpose of having it is to use it in handheld mode? The Lite is much more reliable because fewer things can go wrong. I wouldn't say that it's a downgrade from the regular but an upgrade💯
For 350 dollars I bought 3 games and a brand new switch lite and a screen protector and case and 4 year protection plan it was a really great deal at gamestop.
I just won a switch lite on my job. I have namco museum. What game should I get first. My last nintendo system was my lovely GameCube. I play on the PS5. I pretty much play everything except racing games. Thinking about advanced wars
Switch lite is an insane indie machine and the price is a sticking point for games, but if you keep an eye out on sales and 2nd hand games, you can get around that with a tiny bit of effort. The fact its 7 years old means there are a lot of deals and 2nd hand games, you just need to look around. In terms of value for money nothing comes close besides a Steam deck if its available in your region.
I am not a “gamer” and despise huge tvs and the extremely bright color that comes along with them. My husband games with his Xbox and I get dizzy and nauseous anytime I look at his game. I’m considering the Lite for some throw back games like Super Mario, and I feel like the handheld device addresses the issues I have with traditional gaming systems. I love that it’s handheld and I don’t have to stare at a 65 inch TV to play.
The switch is perfect for me, I have literally skipped this generation of consoles because of it, it really is the console for the casual gamer and I love it, though I'm not interested in games like call of duty or whatever is the biggest online game now, I like to pop in a game and play a fun solo experience.
Like honestly, it's an extra $150 or $100 dollars.. you make it sounds like you're getting a 200 or $300 up charge like you would on a cell phone to go up slightly screen size and slightly better battery life.
And there comes me. I have all the consoles: ps5, xbox series, oled and switch. I buy all the aaa games for ps5 and xbox and always end up when I have time for gaming chilling with the nintendo switch lite playing mario or hollow knight :)))))
i'm not gonna lie lmao i own both the oled and the lite and i actually prefer the lite over the oled, it's just such a solid unit and it gives me nostalgia of playing on my old gameboy pocket back in the day and also feels like a "successor" to the 3ds. i also feel more comfortable taking it around with me, not that i've ever damaged any of my switches (they're both in pristine condition) it's just less likely to have anything break due to being one single part.
I have a Steam Deck OLED and a Switch Lite. I prefer my Switch Lite, because with Steam Deck games can look a bit fizzy and text in some games is impossible to read as they are not designed for it. The Switch doesn’t have this problem and to me it feels better made then the Deck. I’ll probably sell my Deck as soon as the second gen Switch is shown off, if not before then. Sorry I think PC games need to be played on a PC, the ones I play anyway.
I got a switch lite because it was cheapest at the time abd easiest to take around with me, whilst the graphics arentm't amazing and it gets warm really quickly, its not bad for sure. I enjoy using it, but i do hate that we have games that are purely switch exclusives and others which are made with the switch in mind that end up sucking because of its limitations.
When the Switch 2 comes out, they should ditch the base Model and keep offering the Lite and OLED versions at a steep discount, like $150 and $250 respectively.
GG
*Switch* *Lite*
Picked up another turquoise Switch Lite the other night from OfferUp in brand new condition for $130.

So the Odin 2 is as heavy as the Switch OLED with the Joy-Con attached?
I bought a gray one on offerup for $100 flat in great condition. I’ve been using it for a few months now and it’s awesome.
I got the camecube blue one, and it's really awesome. I have surprisingly have had no lag spikes in any game, and it's performance is just incredible
yesss and if anyone want cheaper price dont buy directly from switch store, rather try to find retailer at ur local shop because sometimes its 20-30$ USD cheaper compare to original price. as for game, first party game: go for physical, its ALWAYS going to be cheaper from eshop. meanwhile for third party game: go for eshop since these game always on huge discount.
The switch is my safe haven during the first few months of the pandemic being stuck at the hospital due to work. Playing animal crossing put my tired body and mind at ease. This small little handheld is special.

I bought the yellow lite for my mama, and she now has over 1000 hours in it.
@@MathasarSalazar2 that your real mama or girlfriend?
Anyways. 1k hours is a certified gamer
Some fantastic deals on used systems, typically advertised as very little use (the reason for the sale in the first place)
It’s the best way to play Nintendo games on the go.
No switch 2 get the Oled 😂😂
Hi I bought mine yesterday, ppl saying the battery discharges fast but I see videos of zelda tears of the kingdom doing more than 3h of gameplay, how is that bad? 😂 Any opinion?
If anyone is considering getting this model, definitely pick up a silicone grip/cover. Just makes holding it so much more comfortable and then get a slightly bulkier case so you can put that with the cover in.
Good advice! Thanks
Add: screen protector.
I have such a stigma over used products, I always get worried despite the outside looking great that the battery life could be significantly lower
While I do like smaller handhelds that can be in my pocket, I'd be against that
The screen itself is already quite small for what games you play, I'd rather they make use of the whole bezel space, but also it kinda feels bad to play for long if too small too
You know they will. The point of the switch lite is to give people a more affordable option and it's usually for the casuals.
I got one because I was low on the funds back in 2021and still use it to this day. I would like a switch oled but at this point I rather spend the money on a the switch 2. I rarely console game so it was enticing to me
It's bigger. Switch 2 is 8 inch screen
All the information regarding the switch 2 including full specs have been out for awhile now.

Wii = Game Cube with motion controls
Wii U = Wii in HD
Switch = Wii U portable with a Dock
That's..... super reductive lol.

Switch Lite is a somehow a great successor to 3DS.
The best since you can play game made for big screen every where and with a good experience unlike oled/switch
Get a modchip for $15 and be set for life
The issue with the Switch lite is that they did not make it a clam shell design for optimal handheld design. With the tablet design u need to re angle the entire unit instead of just the screen like on the DS. And it helps so much with portability if u could just fold it and toss it into your backpack without worrying about scratching your display.
get a clamshell case? or just get a ds??
@@samu-chanor maybe they dont want a flimsy clamshell case? Or to purchase a completely different console??
The DS and 3DS lines were the only clamshell handhelds. Every other handheld by Nintendo and anyone else has been a "tablet" design for lack of a better word.
Still wishing to get a switch lite. Healing my inner child and wanting to playing pokemon violet. I'v only played until black 2 through emulator. i miss playing Pokemon a lot
That's literally me lol. Next you'll tell me you played through a phone emulator back in 2017 after getting burnt out from pokemon go cause that's exactly what happened for me
If they’d redone the lite with an oled display I would LOVE it,but since it’s a pretty low quality LCD I prefer my oled.
As Someone who owns the switch lite ill say its worth it
For reference, Switch Lites screen is about the same size as a 16.9 pic displayed on a iphone 15 pro.
Your video editing and fluency in explaining stuff is very smooth and good, thank you!
If you travel to work or school by public transport, it's totally worth it 😊 my steam deck was way too heavy in the bag
I bought a beat up one at a pawnshop for $70, cleaned it up and refurbished it, and it's been good to me.
Exactly what I wanted. I don't need it to hook up to my TV, and I got a used one which makes it even cheaper.
Bought a switch lite on fb marketplace for $50. Felt like a king that day.
Dude that shell, bezel and button combo is so sick! Can’t wait for the gold one to drop so I can give my OG to a loved one, handheld only is just fine for me till the successor
If Switch 2 is backwards compatible then the Lite looks like the best value.
If you can get a mod chipped one it’s unbelievable
In my country you can get your Nintendo Switched modded about 80 dollars
I was surprised how many people are mixed on the Lite since I see it as a great addition since its a whole 100 dollars cheaper then the base Switch, sure you lose the ability to Switch from handheld to Tv, but if you really want a Switch and need the money for other things, or to simply buy at least 1 game with your tight budget, I'd 100% say its worth it

Yes the Wii U was a very different console and did not sell well.

How did you break 4?
my switch lite (blue color) coming tomorrow and i dont have any worries because i just want have fun while playing games.even though switch 2 gonna come soon switch still have at least 2-3 years so i think its still worth it but not oled. i think nintendo should've make oled version pro version of switch... by the way im definetly play persona 5 royal and master detective rain code. i want to play those two more than nintendo games.
i want to buy a switch lite to play the smt v vengence. is there any problems with the drift and is it hackable using the mig switch or even a modchip?
I have the Oled but am thinking about getting the Lite due to the bulkiness of carrying the Oled around at work etc. Does anyone else have both?
i’m always tempted to buy one because it’s so cute 🥹
i wish they’d make an OLED version
(with hall effect analog sticks!)
They have it but I got the blue Switch Lite in blue I’m not playing on tv
taki udon is making a $50 oled screen mod.
I found a well conditioned switch lite for 100 usd. I live in Sweden where a new switch lite is priced in 300 usd (we have high taxes). I actually want to get a switch oled, but since the switch 2 Is releasing THIS year. I dont want to buy the oled right now. But I still really really really want to play the Mario games. so as a temporary device for a couple of months I am really considering getting the switch lite (used for 100 usd)
is this a good idea? yes? no? tell me
You’re in a tough situation haha.
@@EthicalAllele hmmmm yeah I know it makes sense to wait. but its easier said then done hahah. but am gonna try to wait.......
So yesterday i finally decide to get switch lite because i can't stand sit down in front of my PC anymore to play game for more than 1hours+
Pick switch because most of game that i want to play avaiable in this thing,
Got switch lite pokemon sword&shield edition second hand for 150$ with bonus 512GB mmc, travel pouch, thumb grid, and 6 month warranty from the store
Hi I bought mine yesterday, ppl saying the battery discharges fast but I see videos of zelda tears of the kingdom doing more than 3h of gameplay, how is that bad? 😂 Any opinion?
I am impressed with your video about Nintendo switch lite ❤
I have both and I seem to use the light the most
If what I think about MIG flash carts is correct, then that makes the switch lite enticing to me.
THANK YOU for acknowledging the high prices of these games.
it's truly rediculous !!!
there must absolutely be something done about it !
i just bought switch lite couple of days ago playing xenoblade chronicles definitive edition and i'm lovin' it!
last year I bought a busted switch lite for like 40 bucks, it only needed a new digitizer and i decided to shell swap it too, fantastic value and i love this little handheld
Just thinking. Kinda defeats the purpose of owning one, if not to utilize its capabilities? Unless……unless you’re a collector? :/
Bought one 2nd hand for 92 euros in fantastic state, it's amazing especially 2nd hand.
i switched from a lite to an OLED purely for portable play and i regret it.
My switch lite will arrive tommorow, im excited. I cant wait to play monster hunter and Pokemon legends: Arceus
It’s basically the same as the normal switch in regards to playing online or offline so it can do both
i hope there will be a switch 2 lite. I just love the little smaller all handheld
I have the Zelda OLED and I want the Hyrule Lite. I’m trying to find justification for getting it. It’s hard because the OLED can leave the house too.
Can you, or one of your awesome viewers, comment on the comfort/ergonomics of the switch lite in adult hands?
Mario odissey
Switch lite is an insane indie machine and the price is a sticking point for games, but if you keep an eye out on sales and 2nd hand games, you can get around that with a tiny bit of effort. The fact its 7 years old means there are a lot of deals and 2nd hand games, you just need to look around. In terms of value for money nothing comes close besides a Steam deck if its available in your region.
I still used my Switch Lite and played a lot of Pokémon games and some other RPG titles as well.
I’m getting a switch lite soon jus for the future possibilities of modding ie psp, psvita, DS line of families
This sytem is literally made for you in that case.
Bought one second hand today and totally love it
How much did u pay
£100 UK with the same colour case. Mint condition. Came with no games, but my 1st game was 2nd hand Zelda, Breath of Life
i want a switch but dont wanna commit to the 300-400$ price since it seems like theyll come out with a new one soon
Still worth it. I have all three versions but often use them in handheld mode.
Is the screen to small? And is it good for games like breath of the wild? Like is it a worse version on the lite due to the smaller screen?
Im waiting my pokemon sword and shield addition
, such a helpful video thank you man
I had the oled and didn’t like it, got the lite and love it. The oled screen was really nice, but something about the lite is more fun to me.
And there comes me. I have all the consoles: ps5, xbox series, oled and switch. I buy all the aaa games for ps5 and xbox and always end up when I have time for gaming chilling with the nintendo switch lite playing mario or hollow knight :)))))
Plan on buying the Switch Lite this month.
I've had one for over a year and I can't complain about it play it more than my series s
i'm not gonna lie lmao i own both the oled and the lite and i actually prefer the lite over the oled, it's just such a solid unit and it gives me nostalgia of playing on my old gameboy pocket back in the day and also feels like a "successor" to the 3ds. i also feel more comfortable taking it around with me, not that i've ever damaged any of my switches (they're both in pristine condition) it's just less likely to have anything break due to being one single part.
This man promoted switch 2 more than switch lite
Im waiting for switch 2, thats why i just got a lite instead of oled
13:30 breath taking 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾....i saw what u did there
I got a switch lite because it was cheapest at the time abd easiest to take around with me, whilst the graphics arentm't amazing and it gets warm really quickly, its not bad for sure.
