I hate how everything centers around freaking diamond dynasty, the other modes need work! DD is constantly updating and evolving but not offline. So ridiculous. The show was built on franchise and rtts I mean come on....
I am a DD player, and most of these ideas have merit however one thing I hate about SD Studios is that they did not focus on the game engine in the last 5 years. The PS5 version of the game is not a next-gen game. The announcing is bad (it could be so much better and vibrant with AI), and the graphics have been the same for the last 5-6 years. Having the possibility of playing NCAA teams or NCAA scenarios would be interesting. WBC too should be playable with all national teams. There also should be more ''official'' retro stadiums and real MILB parks.
Its official, the show has gone the ea route. Everything revolves around the money making online card collecting mode. I miss the old days when they focused on the "little things" and strived to make the most realstic looking and feeling baseball game imaginable

Add in brawls and mound charges. Also a fun mode like MLB Slugfest 2004 style. The catch fire… crazy leaping and diving abilities. Insane crazy pitches.
I practically skimmed through the video because every poll question was about DD. I do not give a single fuck about DD. RTTS and Franchise is what fans really give a shit about and for years SD Studios have done absolutely nothing with real weight and value that improves those game modes.

More/different cosmetics almost always end up just being a way to make more money for the devs. The thing where DD possibly has different rule changes every week? No thanks. Unless they make it a separate game mode (like what EAFC did with Rush for 5v5 soccer) I want no part of that. I don't want to log in on a Monday and find out my pitcher has to hit all week. I'll pass on that. SDS should be focusing on making The Show look and feel like a PS5 game in 2025. It feels like a 2020-ish game right now, maybe even older. Updated graphics, lighting, commentary, etc. Work on that, SDS.
The problem is that there’s not much they can do to make the game both more realistic, while also making it more fun. It’s baseball. You score more runs than your opponent to win. Not much they can do in terms of new gameplay to make it more fun.
Maybe with the Rival Diamond card it’s like when the cards that have 3 players from the same team in a program. Maybe it shows the players that are featured in the rival card series in that same format?

Literally none of these things matter. If they need to make modes like Franchise and Road to the Show money earners, than do it. Most people can't stand DD and don't play it.
What about some sort of create your own captain type of thing. Maybe a create a manager type of thing where you get to pick your own perks that level up in some sort of way. Bronze being the lowest, Diamond being the highest, and as you progress with gameplay challenges, your stats for the the perks you have chosen increase incrementally as well. It’d add an extra layer to team building, and allow for more team variation, instead of just playing with the most meta team.
This is a hard no, this results in the same issue that mob the show 23 had with created players being able to be used in diamond dynasty every day one no life will have a 99 max out hitter or 99 pinpoint demon on the mound. If there should or would be anything I think Evo cards just like 2k would be the only fair and balanced way to go.
@ I was thinking more like the captain boosts rather than the created player boosts, that also got boosted with equipment. Nothing crazy, just a way to give a boost to the players you want to use that may no longer be relevant.
They should add new quirks for hitting and fielding… just like outlier for pitchers and pop time for catchers, they need to add a outlier exit velocity for some hitters that are in the top 5-10% on baseball savant… or add some type of outlier for getting good jumps on defense to make the elite defenders more valuable… they could also add something for stealing to make those players have more value
I think it’d be cool to have a different parallel system maybe a little less xp but if you have a favorite player and always like to use them let the system go all the way to 10 or X then it changes the whole color of the card instead of the border and a massive boost on the card
That Rogue series is a bigger more in depth version of the old Evolution program. I liked the evolution but remember it went quick enough and something that keeps us playing with a card longer is a good thing
An idea is transferable team captain boosts - for example, if someone wanted to use a different (better) version of a team captain card AND also get a boost, allow the boost to be transferred to that different card. Or transfer it to another card from the same team to allow more team build flexibility. Eh?
If the game engine and gameplay haven’t changed any, it just doesn’t matter what gimmicks they add to the game. Not buying for first time in many years. Not gonna feel obligated to play this game every day and it’s gonna feel awesome.
One of the best things they can do is stop nerfing other game modes outside of DD. One thing I always try to remind people is that no matter what you nerf trying to affect player progress, there will be those that will min/max the progress no matter what. Stop killing the feeling of accomplishment/ reward by nerfing progress based on power players.
I know this will never happen in DD again but I want the live series cards to actually be useable … I would limit active players to only be able to have 2 cards of themselves (1 live series and 1 special card) and legends only 1 card of themselves
-add managers(coaches) that give a +5 to 3 different attributes for the entire team (different coaches give different boosts) maybe different tier levels of coaches, higher tier coaches give higher boost -bring back being able to use your RTTS player in DD( no submarine bullshit, or weird ass pitchers, just like they wouldn't let you use a knuckle baller last year) -similar to captains, have DUOs or TRIOs, players get boosted when you play them together on a team -similar to 2kMyteam, make it so you can apply new Quirks to players - on fire, basically when a player gets a hit, their next at bat they have boosted stats, and they continue to keep going up until the player fails to get another hit, like if you get 2 hits your first 2 AB , you have +10 to contact for your 3rd AB (maybe boosted by 5 every hit, or more if you previously hit a HR) - Old School, a mode where a lot of older rules apply, no DH so pitchers have to hit, + any other old school rules they could implement Obviously theres a lot of issues with the gameplay and the entire engine needs to be revamps, but these were just some fun things I came up with as I watched the video lol
How about add a Cage Match game where the roof of the dome is a cage and the ball glows in the dark, of course to play the steel cage match just pay a small micro transaction fee and play in the dark. why not?
I think you could do the rare autographed card thing and to make it meaningful, just give the card a plus one speed or a plus one power. It would separate the cards without going crazy.

This was the first year I’ve ever grinded The Show or played at all for that matter. Former madden and fifa player. Love the game but would love for The Show to overhaul franchise mode. I actually enjoy DD and found their monetary system the best out of any sports game, they better not 2K or MUT the game.
I just want dedicated servers.. I don't need their hair to flow. Gameplay I think is fine, assuming we had dedicated servers I'm assuming the turbo slides and teleporting wouldn't happen... The randomized pitch speeds, etc. And yeah, no more shield woods or similar stadiums

Pros sprit is a better at everything expect animation and player design just copy what you have over to Konamis engine. We been playing the same game for 10 years it’s not a content issue imo.
Also a better captain system…I’m somewhat new to the game (few weeks) but I’m still confused as to why the options are so limited. As much as I like my home team I don’t want a team full of mariners or Yankees players. There’s like 6 options to have players with shitty stats like “less than 70 contact.” Why can’t there be options for people that have grinded to have captains boost players over 100 power and fielding. The finest series captain boosts are pretty laughable. Are captains for beginners only and by the time the squad is deep you don’t use a captain? Or maybe I’m missing something. I get it that you can make a pretty good team with overlapping team boosts but it takes away from creating the squad you really want to play with imo. The devers/kershaw or Corbin combo is decent but I like my other teams way better.
Psa system would ruin the current way the market works. You can only buy low not select what price no one would want to sell psa 10 card lower than non graded. If they change it the would crash the diamond market with friends or second accounts transferring stubs millions at a time

As someone who has played NBA 2K MyTeam for years, 99% of these ideas are things 2K has done in MyTeam...not a good sign tbh. RIP Diamond Dynasty.

I literally bailed on this year's game and started working on a Challenger Hemi as a hobby. I'm bored with The Show to a point I stopped gaming altogether. They really need to redevelop the game from the ground floor.

This was the first year I’ve ever grinded The Show or played at all for that matter. Former madden and fifa player. Love the game but would love for The Show to overhaul franchise mode. I actually enjoy DD and found their monetary system the best out of any sports game, they better not 2K or MUT the game.
I just want dedicated servers.. I don't need their hair to flow. Gameplay I think is fine, assuming we had dedicated servers I'm assuming the turbo slides and teleporting wouldn't happen... The randomized pitch speeds, etc.

Half of this video focuses on the online portion of the game. I think that’s what has ruined this game.
I think there should be more options for rtts not just out of high school maybe you play some college games or maybe we come from like the dr and get sign not just high school then combine

I think they are stretching it a bit. This tells me they have no idea what to do to make the game better. This is a Fly on the Wall in a meeting they we are seeing. "So everyone, I want you to come up with some crazy ideas from 25 and we will ask the community to decide what to bring to 25". I can go on and on with the stupid things that they were saying in that meeting. All they have to do is play the game like they don't work for SDS and they will see what is really wrong with the game. And if this survey is really what you just told us, they were not at all understanding of what the game needs and what most of us want. I am a bit worried about the future if this is true. Nice to get us involved but, the ideas seem a bit out in far left field. Like in the trash can by the concession stand.

I know it won't probably happen for '25 but MLB The Show needs to go exclusively current gen and leave the PS4, XBOX One and Switch behind so it isn't held back by last gen and can pack more features into the game to make it better.

2K has card cosmetics but it is literally pay to unlock the card art and different positions for the card
We have to real with ourselves here….franchise mode and RTTS hasn’t been upgraded since DD came in….they make more money off DD than the actual sales of the game….its sucks but in order to get better franchise or RTTS we have to get rid of DD….they could just put all the legends in the game off rip like other sports games…like 97 Yankees or something but DD has to go….dead ass!!
The only thing that ruined 24 for me was overpowered pitching. Facing the same pitchers every game got stale. They should have some sort of team overall cap or some salary cap based mechanic

Pros sprit is a better at everything expect animation and player design just copy what you have over to Konamis engine. We been playing the same game for 10 years it’s not a content issue imo.

Also a better captain system…I’m somewhat new to the game (few weeks) but I’m still confused as to why the options are so limited. As much as I like my home team I don’t want a team full of mariners or Yankees players. There’s like 6 options to have players with shitty stats like “less than 70 contact.”
Why can’t there be options for people that have grinded to have captains boost players over 100 power and fielding. The finest series captain boosts are pretty laughable. Are captains for beginners only and by the time the squad is deep you don’t use a captain? Or maybe I’m missing something.
I get it that you can make a pretty good team with overlapping team boosts but it takes away from creating the squad you really want to play with imo. The devers/kershaw or Corbin combo is decent but I like my other teams way better.

Psa system would ruin the current way the market works. You can only buy low not select what price no one would want to sell psa 10 card lower than non graded. If they change it the would crash the diamond market with friends or second accounts transferring stubs millions at a time
