Idea behind this short
In the past couple of years Oaxaca has easily become one of my favorite places in the world. It has become a place that fills me with joy and inspirations to create and tell story's, but it hasn’t always been that way. As a kid my parents used to bring us here to visit my abuelitos and family members, but I used to not care much about it because at that young age I didn’t understand its significance. I was so close minded due to the fact that growing up in the states, I never broadened my horizons to see past my little home. Now that I am of age, now that I am of my own comprehension, I have become intrigued with the art form of visual storytelling; and when I think about why it is that I’m intrigued by this art form, it all points back to this place. This place contains stories beyond my years. It holds the stories of my ancestors. It holds beautiful traditions that have become embedded in the everyday lives of its people. It is because of this place, that I am a storyteller.
