It is easy to vote in the States. Most places have early voting and you have several months or years to register to vote. If you can't figure out how to go to a government building and ask how to register than you should probably not be voting in the first place. Hell I registered at the same time I was trying for my license as an 18 year old. As for requiring an ID almost every fucking thing here requires an ID. You can't be a functioning adult without one. My DMV is the only one in my county in my state. My county is also the second largest in the state. People manage to drive a decent length to it to take care of business at the DMV. Unless city DMVs have a limit to how many people they serve a day I can't imagine it being impossible to get to one in a city. Now fees might vary but again months or years to register so set aside snack or fast food for a few weeks so you have the money. It doesn't have to be a driver's license it just has to be a state ID.
