TEST NOTES:
We conducted multiple trials on each device to get the most accurate and consistent results possible.
Devices are tested with a robotic arm in a controlled environment, and temperature readings are taken after each trial to account for any thermal throttling.
Screens were calibrated to 200 nits with auto-brightness turned off, except for in the second test where auto-brightness was turned on.
Speakers calibrated to the same decibel count.
Tested within equal distance of a mini cell tower.

@@GrigRPthey're not, the nothing phone 2 has a 2 year old chip. The iPhone won against the galaxy s24u which had the latest chip. There's just no way for the nothing phone to win.
Phonebuff, this is how your channel was back in those days with iOS 11, you normally test almost all smartphones then, but recently, you limited it to only iPhones and Samsung high end phones, not knowing that some people still use this other smaller devices. Nice job, please do even more videos with the other smartphones

No way nothing Phone 2a after usage for 4 months battery drops like 20% when device is idle
@Crosstrack_Chronicles it depends on the person, I don't lose more than 2% of battery while my phone is idle for 5-8 hours

Also a suggestion of video: Test the same phone, example iPhone, and see the difference between native apps and "external" like Safari vs Chrome, Mail vs Gmail, Apple Maps vs Google Maps

Thank you for this comparison. Phone 2a is such a great phone but I might upgrade to the future flagship of Nothing. For now, I will enjoy this cheap midrange device.
This battery test was very interesting. Alot different to the times listed by GSM Arena that puts the 2a ahead in pure browsing, video and gaming. Standby and call time was high too. This test feels like a better comparison
Nothing 2a have a wide bigger screen & have beautiful images when u play games
I like the new variety in content, as everything doesn't always have to be a competition between Apple and Android, solely as there is a large variety of Androids to make more interesting content. Thank you.

Valid point. I failed to mention my experience testing similarly priced phones like the Pixel 7a that led to the minor disappointment. In hindsight, we probably should have included the Pixel 7a in this video. We’ll try to anticipate this better in the future. Thank you for your comment.

the 7a chipset Tensor G2 was released in October 2022, while the dimensity 7200 released only four months later (February 2023). the 7a has UFS 3.1 storage while the nothing 2a has 2.2 ufs which is older.@@duckmoment680

I definitely check your videos most of the time and was thinking of commenting that you shoukd cover all the phones. Before i use to watch all the tech RUclipsrs but now i only watch you lol. So doing a poll on RUclips community and doing this type of test if the way forward for you man. And theres none that does speed test like you so make it happen. Phone buff Supremacy

Great tests. One suggestion to incluye as part of the battery test is Wi-Fi sharing, for instance while streaming from media platforms (Netflix, HBO, RUclips,...)
No need to be disappointed, the difference in knowing the difference in hardware it is not even a comparison

Nothing phone 2A , UFS 2.2
So the nothing phone 2 outlasted the s23 ultra with an older chipset and a smaller battery than it. Imagine it with the 8 Gen 3 and a 5400mah battery (especially because of the lackluster performance by the OnePlus 12 in the app cycle test).
I think the lower native resolution helped it out.

Can you test the nothing phone 2a with Infinix GT 10 Pro? Since both are using almost on par SoC.. I'm currently using the GT 10 Pro..pretty smooth so far after some updates..well the software and UI experience maybe behind compared to NothingOS but since it was almost identical in SoC performance..want to see how they performed against each other..

I believe phones (touch screens) will feel slow until they reach the speed at which our brains process things, so... around 0.35 seconds between any single tap, and the expected action _completing_ (such as an app loading after initial launch)

they removed a few scenes for the video export otherwise the 2A wouldve taken too long to finish it so the 15 pm did more work
because they didn’t do the same tasks. nothing phone at its price point is never going to outperform an iphone 15
for 290 dollars you get a snap 888 plus with 144 hertz screen 6.8 inch with 108 mp camera and "fast charging"
I wish the phone 2 had 5000 mah battery. That would make it perfect. Another 300mah would have made the comparison to the 2a closer.

For the speed test results it would be interesting to see a comparison without the gaming tests. Not everyone plays games on their phone, and it really makes the results look much worse.
Still do the gaming tests, but have a second conclusion with the gaming times subtracted.
If it helps, the app load time chart at the end of the test provides data for individual app load times.

Just came here for the battery test although when you do IG in the future you should consider 1 hour scrolling plus an additional hour going thru reels to see what part of IG takes more battery

I think the performance is adequate for the price. $700 for the flagship is cheap. They gotta make the flagship enticing somehow. 2a is only $350. At least it ain't $450/$500 and the Flagship $800.

in iPhone 15 vrs s24 ultra iPhone completed the task at 2.07. in this test nothing phone 2 did it in 2.03. nothing phone won
This test has different variables (for example the video export is 1/3 as intensive) so the two results are not directly comparable.
