I just made this with scallops. I didn't have my rice cooker, so I replaced the rice with yakisoba! It was very delicious, and one of the best meals I have had in a long time. Thank you, Chef and Francis! :)
now really she is such an amazing chef ! I love her I learned so many things from your videos, even though it is impossible to get many essential ingredients ( like mirin and shiitake ) in my country, and I cld not redo the recipes as they were but they were an inspiration for me to make many easy dishes that come in handy :) thank you
***** Well, technically, Tenshinhan got outstripped by Gohan-- heck, at the end of the Cell Games everyone was outstripped by Gohan. And considering the meaning of Gohan... The strongest dish is a simple bowl of white rice. Considering the importance of that bowl in Japanese cuisine, that's as it should be!
Corn starch will also thicken the sweet vinegar sauce but cook it thoroughly to remove its smell. The sauce with the potato starch is clear but the one with corn starch is translucent :)
Even better than Mama!!! ^^ I have been away from home for almost 6 years and this lady reminds me of my Grand Mother she always cooks the best foods... Miss you Grand... One day I'll be home... ^^
I'm eating my version of this dish for breakfast! I altered the recipe to use ingredients I already had on hand, which included making a Korean sweet vinegary sauce instead of the one in the video. Delicious! One day I will make this recipe exactly. Thanks for sharing!
I know right? I actually made this recipe multiple nights in a row to practice flipping it like she can, because before I had trouble with it. I'm still not very good at flipping large okonomiyaki yet imo. But that could also be because I was made it too big for the pan I was using and it wasn't on an electric griddle.
I vote that we get a chain of restaurants everywhere that has all of the dishes made by Chef on her channel as the menu. New items added as they update. I would be in tasty heaven.
you cant win them all but your a genius and a very nice person you are the best my favorite cooking show is cooking with dog these recipes are the best you deserve the best!
I was searching for crab meat recipes and ended up with a bad one two days ago, wasted a can of good crab meat. But this looks so delicious and easy, I've never failed with your recipes, i'll definitely try it!!! thanks!!!
this recipe is so similar to fried egg with rice in my country. The omelet is made in very hot oil and crispy at the edge, eat with chili sauce. Smell irresistible for all hungers.
This looks so beautiful, Chef! Thank you! I think I might have to substitute lobster for the crab meat, though, since lobster is really inexpensive where I live. I can't wait to try this!
This looks amazing I had never heard of this. I like eggs with rice and will try this. I don't eat much meat or seafood so I will use tofu instead and maybe additional vegetables. Your recipes are so easy and well presented! Thanks!
I like this recipe very much. But I make substitution. I use no rice, but chocolate cookie. And for egg I have ice cream. For sauce I use chocolate sauce. It is very tasty. I love your show. Your dog teaches you very good cooking. Your dog is very nice to give you good food.
Don't mean to stir up issue here but looking at the amount of oil in japanese cuisine compared to the western cuisine, we can now relate the rate of coronary heart diseases and its mortality between these two countries.. PS: I loveeee both cuisines! Typical foodie here lol
Harmony Wolfe54 obviously they mean that japanese people use less oil than westerners in cooking which contributes to them having lower rates of coronary heart diseases
When chef flipped the omelette, I had to rewind it just to see her do it again! And when the video was ending I was thinking to myself that I gotta rewind it again! And than it showed her flipping it at the end of the video and I was happy(: Lmao.
I think it is a more concentrated flavor because it's been through the drying process and then slowly absorbs the rehydrating water. I buy dried mushrooms a lot, especially for stir frys and fried rice.
Jamie Montes....you can find potato starch in a Wholefoods Market if you have one...or you can find it in the health food section in you grocery store. If you still can't find it, regular cornstarch will be a good substitute.
I just made this with scallops. I didn't have my rice cooker, so I replaced the rice with yakisoba! It was very delicious, and one of the best meals I have had in a long time. Thank you, Chef and Francis! :)
I will feed this to my child in the hopes that one day he will become a great, bald warrior that saves the world from aliens.
That has a midget clown friend/ partner.
who is also bald. every great warrior shaves their head. Right Master Roshi!
Force him to meditate for every day of every year, and he might get a third eye
Just like his best friend and tall homie.
now really she is such an amazing chef ! I love her
I learned so many things from your videos, even though it is impossible to get many essential ingredients ( like mirin and shiitake ) in my country, and I cld not redo the recipes as they were but they were an inspiration for me to make many easy dishes that come in handy :) thank you
TENSHINHAN IS THE STRONGEST DISH
***** Well, technically, Tenshinhan got outstripped by Gohan-- heck, at the end of the Cell Games everyone was outstripped by Gohan. And considering the meaning of Gohan...
The strongest dish is a simple bowl of white rice. Considering the importance of that bowl in Japanese cuisine, that's as it should be!
Kenko706 Gohan can't make a square come out of a triangle.
+Kenko706 maybe, but the strongest food is vegetables and the strongest vegetable is a carrot
Casandraelf
Only because the editors and fans wouldn't let Toriyama go where HE wanted to go...
All these triangles make a square. All these squares make a circle
Hehe, Tenshinhan on top of Gohan :3
+MyHatori xDDDDDDDDDDDD
oh you naaaasty
"I need an adult"
Cooking with dog always makes me smile. Love chef, she rocks!!!
Love the ingredients. It looks very delicious, gotta try it soon. Thanks for sharing, cookingwithdog team!
I extremely love the way she flips the egg over .
I've made this dish many times now thanks to this recipe, and it's delicious. My family all loves it as well. どうもありがとうございます、シェーフさん ^^
The way she picks up and holds stuff is really graceful.
Just something I noticed.
Seems like Chef always has a new pepper grinder in each video. :P
Corn starch will also thicken the sweet vinegar sauce but cook it thoroughly to remove its smell. The sauce with the potato starch is clear but the one with corn starch is translucent :)
I could almost smell it once the sauce was put on top! This looks simple and amazing!
We made this last night with a driving rainstorm outside. Perfect for a cold night. Thank you Chef!
Even better than Mama!!! ^^
I have been away from home for almost 6 years and this lady reminds me of my Grand Mother she always cooks the best foods...
Miss you Grand... One day I'll be home... ^^
This is one of my favorite recipes I've tried from you guys so far. I LOVE the sweet vinegar sauce! Very delicious. :D
I always love how when Chef eats the food, Francis is always right by her heard like "I want some too"
I'm eating my version of this dish for breakfast! I altered the recipe to use ingredients I already had on hand, which included making a Korean sweet vinegary sauce instead of the one in the video. Delicious! One day I will make this recipe exactly. Thanks for sharing!
The music in this video is amazing, totally mesmerizing
WHOA SOME SKILL. I literally exclaimed out loud when I saw that flip. (haha :p)
I know right? I actually made this recipe multiple nights in a row to practice flipping it like she can, because before I had trouble with it. I'm still not very good at flipping large okonomiyaki yet imo. But that could also be because I was made it too big for the pan I was using and it wasn't on an electric griddle.

Firelit Inspiration her spatulas are also very wide - right tools make life so much simpler
I am in love with this channel. How awesome would it be to be guests at her dinner table?
idk why but my favorite part about watching this is the dog it just makes everything cool
You can just leave out the sake :) Chef suggests adding Doubanjiang (Chinese chili bean paste) to make the sauce spicy.
I vote that we get a chain of restaurants everywhere that has all of the dishes made by Chef on her channel as the menu. New items added as they update. I would be in tasty heaven.
congratulations francis and chef for reaching 300,000 subs and still going strong.. Thanks you for making me love cooking thru your channel.

this recipe is so similar to fried egg with rice in my country. The omelet is made in very hot oil and crispy at the edge, eat with chili sauce. Smell irresistible for all hungers.

I love all your videos, Chef. I watch them over and over again because the dishes you prepare always look oishii!! ^.^
Thanks!
I'm with Chaeley. I'd never manage that flip! Chef, you are the best!
2:47 Loooove how chef flew in the air with the egg when she flipped it :)

Chef, that looks absolutely delicious!
I just cooked that dish today. Delicious!!! Thanks Chef.
Chef, as much as I love your videos and recipes, I end up craving enchiladas when I see the opening picture. It sure looks like enchilada sauce.
Another fine video...so appetizing...(and we miss you, Francis ✨🐩✨)

Tried this for dinner and it was good. I still need to improve but thanks to Chef for the clear step-by-step guide...
I think it is a more concentrated flavor because it's been through the drying process and then slowly absorbs the rehydrating water. I buy dried mushrooms a lot, especially for stir frys and fried rice.
