Amsterdam: Venice of the North

Amsterdam is the capital and largest city of the Netherlands.
Aside from walking, the best way to see the city is by taking a canal boat tour. 25% of the city consists of navigable waterways, with 165 canals in Amsterdam that make a combined length of more than 60 miles. This is more than the city of Venice!
Amsterdam has approximately 90 islands, which are linked by more than 1500 bridges. No wonder the city's nickname is 'Venice of the North.
