Hey there! Curious why you chose the rx7 over the eclipse bow from Hoyt. I have similar draw weight and poundage and wondering what points helped make your decision. Thank you for your input!
Rachel just prefers the feel of the cams and the efficiency provided by the RX-7 over the Eclipse although the eclipse is a fantastic bow as well. We strongly encourage you to test shoot both if you’re able to help make a decision on what is best for you and what you like between the two.

My wife is just starting out in archery. She is petite and has tiny hands. Are there any special considerations when helping her select a release aid for a woman? Thanks for the great videos.
Most hand held releases have small sizes. Stan makes some great releases in the smaller sizes. If she wants to go more of the wrist strap route, I would recommend a release with a youth sized wrist strap as this will fit her much better. Hope this is helpful! Please let me know if there’s anything else I may be able to help with. - Josh
If you set your nock point dead center, Maybe could have added a half twist to slow down the bottom cam… that would have helped that tear where you wouldn’t have had to move the rest up so far from center… that’s just my opinion of what has worked for me though
Typically best to keep the cams in sync and adjust the nocking point and rest accordingly. Although the half twist adjustment may fix the initial tear up close, it typically would effect the arrow flight further away.
@@BowOnlyOutdoors I just seen that you had to move the rest up a good bit to correct that tear…and I can get a more fine adjustment by adding or removing a half twist then trying to move the nock sets… half twist never seems to take it out of tim.. and it seems to have improved flight down range..
@@potatostomatoes4599 bahahahahahahahaha stfu… you ever heard about creep tuning? If you gotta move your nicking point out of center to correct for a low or high tear, then your bow isn’t perfectly in time… moving your nocking point is adjusting your nock travel to account for the timing issue… hence why I said adjust major tears by adding or removing a “HALF TWIST” to a cable…
Unfortunately I shoot a 28.5 DL on a Hoyt. Does that make this bow a bad idea for me, because I will be at the bottom of the module with less speed and less efficiency? Doesn’t Hoyt want to sell to consumers with 28.5 draw lengths?
It depends what you want out of your bow. Since it is on the lower end of the cam, it will draw much smoother and easier even at the same poundage as a bow on the top end of the cam. If speed is your objective, I’d recommend shooting their speed bow. If you like a smoother bow, you’ll love shooting them with the cams on the lower end of the adjustment range. If you want in between, get one with slightly more draw weight to compensate for the slight speed loss with the easier/smoother draw so that it feels the same. No matter the brand of bow or the company, you can not have a smoother draw without taking energy (and speed) out of the cams. Just like you can’t have speed without putting more energy (and a stiffer draw) into the cams. It’s a give and take correlation. You can find a balance of both, but you can’t increase the one without giving up the other with today’s technology.
Haha, good eye! It’s solid so we haven’t messed with it. Not a problem since it’s just the single piece quiver that attaches at the top but would be if you planned to run the different quiver.
@Bow Only Outdoors 20/15 vision will do that for you. That's why I'm a hunter. If it seems solid then that's perfect, just thought you might get slightly more stability because of the lower mounting point. Would need less weight and maybe add a degree of angle downwards aswell depending on how heavy your quivver and sight are. May seem like I'm being a keyboard archer or whatever but I geniunly just want people to love archery as much as I do. I know how much confidence in your setup matters when hunting aswell.
I left a message for you about your/mine question for where you hunt, the disadvantage about especially deerhunting, is the fact we all have way too many two faced deer hunters, they will show reasonable manners to your face, if they think they can get away with it, they would poach in a heart beat, and think twice about it,
We live in Nebraska and Iowa and hunt all throughout the midwest. Deer activity has been good the past week as bucks are cruising around looking for the last remaining does in heat. As far as population goes, it seems to differ depending on location, in Nebraska, the deer numbers have been reported to be low throughout the state this year
@@BowOnlyOutdoors yeah, it's from state to state, another hunter friend of mine, it just depends what the state DNR thinks about what they think their accurate about, especially when their not as accurate as they think they are, we have the same bs here in south west Indiana, our sporting stores don't sell actual hunting tags anymore, everything goes through phone internet, so who knows how many are really getting turned in legally, it's probably a standing fact that everywhere has their fair share of poachers, it's one hell of a bad shame they make the good hunters look bad,
That’s a sweet setup. Good work!
Really really enjoyed this video!
Thank you Jaci! I hope you and your family had a happy Thanksgiving!
I enjoyed your video. Good job.
Also, you have an extremely BEAUTIFUL shot… very clean pull through and break… very impressive
The slow mo arrow flight is bad$ss. Nice work.
Any tips on getting far shots with low powndage

Josh has sure taught form well. Rachel is looking like she’s done this for years! Ps. Where can I get that hooded sweater Josh?

How often is shimming of the cams needed on these bows? Thanks
It's only done once in the tuning process and I seem to only have to do it on every 3 or 4 bows.
Thank you!

Nice set up. Just goes to show you don't need to shoot 80 lbs to be a successful hunter/huntress! Good luck this season!
I’m looking to move my wife from the Eva gen 3 to the RX7 or 8. Can I ask, what is your draw weight and what arms did you get?
40-50lb limbs. She shoots around 42-45lbs
Everything nice👌👌👌 I will say how ever, that release looks a little big for you.😌
How fast are your arrows?
We have not shot it through a chronograph but believe it to be around 235-240fps.
Awesome. Nothing like a good bow set up that’s just fits you. Makes shooting so much easier and way more enjoyable. Which release is that? 👍👍👀
Thanks Tim! This is the Stan Element resistance release. Happy Thanksgiving!
what broadheads are you using at your 43 pounds. im shooting low poundage now too because of a shoulder injury
Slick trick viper trick! Great cut on contact fixed blade head.
Great video , very helpful information .
I do have a question . Does the RX 7 , your bow have split yokes ?
It does not, it is a binary cam system so it uses spacers instead of split yokes.
Thank you !
Great job, guys! Question: what release are you shooting?
Thank you! It is the Stan Element resistance release!
Nice set up, what release are you using?
Thank you. It is the Stan Element!
@@BowOnlyOutdoors thank you for the info... 👍🏻

@Robert Williams if you add or take away twists you will mess with cam timing and sync. Stick to your day job.

Very helpful. Thank you very much. I’m very close to buying the RX7. Now I’m wondering if I should wait for the RX 8 lol. Great channel, keep it up!
the last chance draw board is priced pretty decently ;) lol
I’ve also had experience with them breaking!
@@BowOnlyOutdoors yeah that's a little frightening. Just the string/cable I'm assuming?
@@sportbikeguy9875 actually the metal hook connection to the pulley got worn and pulled through.
Might help to put the sidebar in the actual sidebar mount hole instead of the bottom quivver attachment point.

What part of the country do you live in
The midwest!
Just a suggestion, next time show her doing more of the actual setting up…Josh could coach her from off camera.
Otherwise a good setup video 😎
Will do next time! :)
If you are hunting with a side quiver, you should keep that on the bow for paper tuning. The weight will change the flight dynamics of the arrow.
