"Fun isn't something one considers when balancing the universe. But this, does put a smile on my face. I know what it's like to lose... To feel so desperately that you're right, and yet to fail all the same. Let it. Run from it... Destiny still arrives." Thanos
Watching this 3 weeks after Endgame. Thanos in Endgame is the literal definition of savage. P.S. When he said GotG is coming out this year, I BIG felt old😂
I wish I had your brain/knowledge of Superheroes, etc... It is all SO interesting, but man it would take forever to connect the dots on things you talk about. Either way, appreciate the videos. Thanks, man.
When you mention Thanos in a good reading comic book do not forget the Thanos Imperative, it was the one time Thanos worked with the Guardians of the galaxy and star lord dies, best read ever.
I love Thanos. He's a villain who thinks BIG and has the power to back it up. He's on a scale so epic that he's sided with heroes on more than one occasion. He considers the universe to be his and he protects what it is.
I was talking about Thanos who was in the end credits of the first one and has been confirmed to show up in Avengers 2 and be the main threat in Avengers 3.
Man I really love this channel it gives me a great buy list options, and I love these histories of supervillians and superheros he does them justice unlike other channels.
For your recommended readings, you forgot to mention the post-Realm of Kings storyline, The Thanos Imperative. One of the best Cosmic Marvel stories that involves almost every modern Cosmic Marvel character that matters.
I just realized, at the end of Avengers, when The Other told Thanos: "Humans. They are not the cowering wretches we were promised! They stand. They are unruly and therefore cannot be ruled. To challenge them is to court...Death." Thanos just wants to impress his love: Death.
ADAM WARLOCK! One of the few rare, uncommon fan. Did you know the actor of Agent Coulson is a fan of Warlock? But yeah, Adam's an essential element of Thanos' history.
Paul Carrola I bought and read the Warlock mags as they came out in the '70's and the "Starlin" Captain Marvel issues that this guy refers to. For the uninitiated: Warlock had possessed one of the gems (the "soul" gem), that later became part of the gauntlet (I forget now). It was an awesome publication, also drawn by Jim Starlin, who I always thought was Marvel's best, better than Jack Kirby! Great stories, great art!
Just watched Infinity wars. This makes me feel old. Also his comments on the Flash made me laugh considering that the Flash tv show is now the most loved of all the arrowverse shows.
Dude how can you not mention his role in the Warlock Saga starting with Strange Tales into the Warlock series, ending with Marvel's Two In One......a much deserved mention one of the best Thanos stories.
In Guardians of the Galaxy, I wish Thanos would have been the one to ultimately destroy Ronin. He was insolent to the "most powerful being in the universe" as Djimon said yet never 'personally' paid the cost.
This needs updating since Thanos Rising. You also never mentioned the whole story line of Warlock, Magus, Universal Church of Truth and how he plotted to siphon off Warlock's soul gem power while helping him and later using this to build a large synthetic gem. One of the greatest comic plot lines ever since it happened over a long period of comics, building up to one of his universe ruling events. I still have those early Warlock comics in my Mother's attic.
Thanos abilities were powered up like crazy after the Infinity Gauntlet saga and with him being in the MCU . Captain Marvel was Thanos primary adversary , along with Drax the Destroyer . Captain Marvel and Drax are not on the same power level as the Silver Surfer and Thor , but they now have Thanos mopping the floor with them .
@Giovanni Balbosa-Mc Intosh , please research Marvel's comic history of the 1970s . Thanos primarily appeared in the Captain Marvel books of the 1970s , with some story crossovers into the Avengers books whenever Thanos opposed a universal threat when he had attained cosmic powered artifacts like the Cosmic Cube or the Soul Gem . Drax the Destroyer was specifically created by the cosmic entity called Chronos at the request of the Titan leader Mentor to destroy Thanos . The Destroyer mostly appeared in Captain Marvel books . Thanos was killed by Adam Warlock back in the 1970s when Adam Warlock emerged from the Soul Gem and turned Thanos into solid stone . Thanos character was rebooted in 1990 by Jim Starlin and was reintroduced in the new Silver Surfer comic book line in #35 as being the Silver Surfer's main antagonist . In Silver Surfer #35 Thanos is resurrected from the dead by Mistress Death to becoming her agent in reducing life in the universe ( The lead up to the Infinity Gauntlet ) . Mistress Death endowed Thanos with increased power and immortality in order for him to carry out her task .The Silver Surfer seeing Thanos didn't know who he was until Thanos had said his name ( The Surfer only knew of his name from what the Avengers had mentioned of him ) because their paths never crossed . Thanos wasn't on the level of a Silver Surfer until the 1990 reboot of him . The Silver Surfer has tangled with heavy hitters one on one in the past like the Devil Mephisto , the cosmic entity called the Stranger , the living planet Ego , The cosmic entity called the Shaper , fought Thor and the Hulk . Thanos didn't fight such powerful opponents by himself with his own natural abilities . Thanos needed a space army but the Silver Surfer didn't need an army because he was his own army . But Thanos did have his own helicopter .
I like Thanos as a character, but his motives are.....questionable. Not because of how evil they are, but because if he destroyed everything and killed off all life he'd actually be doing Death a disservice. No life means no more death, an omnipotent being should know that it's better to play the long game. A healthy universe produces more death than a barren and empty one.
you should do a history of Onsglauht; and talk about if he could have been the most powerful enemy in marvel comics, and talk about why Thanos and apocalypse fear him. thanks
So at first Thanos was going to be a rip off of Metron, then Marvel says no,no look give him metron's chair and while you are at it make him look like Darkseid, and while your at it make him a universal threat like Darkseid as well, also be sure to call him a titan so nobody notices, I mean its not like we can come up with something original right.
Not much of a challenge. The closing line would be "maybe im just a rip off with purple skin thats lighter but unlike you at least i wasnt directed by Zack snyder" mic drop
Thanos rocks ! the infinity gems and gaundlet in particular are just too OP to make into any sort of "logical" movie, the cosmic cube on the other hand,is also OP but will be a lot better if realized correctly for a future movie
I knew and loved darkseid first but after reading infinity gauntlet thanos is pretty cool and interesting character. I don't thing you mention thanos vol 1 where thanos is on a quest to redeem himself it's pretty good.

I love Thanos. He's a villain who thinks BIG and has the power to back it up. He's on a scale so epic that he's sided with heroes on more than one occasion. He considers the universe to be his and he protects what it is.
to be honest, i dont think he is a villian, he is what we all imagine ourselves being but are to scared to fathom becoming, a conqueror!
Thats pretty deep :P
His ultimate goal is to end all life in the universe... Seems pretty villainous to me...
Project_Worm you never thought some sick shit like that before? he is just taking that action.
MrNotThatFamous™ you might be a villian as well
samuigohan in a world with no hero's? i would gladly take that title.

I have the time and space gem.
Good one
It’s wild watching this in 2019 with Arris talking about Guardians and Winter Soldier about to come out, and Flash having not even started.
Is it weird that I find Thanos and Deaths relationship in Infinty Gauntlet kind of adorable?
Yes
Unless I was incredibly morbid as fuck
what about de@dpòol fucking death???????
10 years ago. The MCU and the world were a much simpler place, if only I could go back in time.
Espically back in 2014 maybe earlier to be honest
I have all issues of Infinity Gautlet, i greatly recommend it!
U r not real super sand lesbian
Completely agree about the Flash costume. Brighter red and a non-leather material would have been better. Still a good costume though.
I just realized, at the end of Avengers, when The Other told Thanos: "Humans. They are not the cowering wretches we were promised! They stand. They are unruly and therefore cannot be ruled. To challenge them is to court...Death."

I think it's been settled that the MCU "cosmic cube" isn't the ACTUAL cube; being that it's already an Infinity Gem (Space Gem).
just read Thanos Rising the other day, very well done origin series... Thanos was a friggin nutter man!
He was bugged out in that comic.....sheeeeeesh XD
Nice! No ads!!
Right... he "came up" with Thanos after seeing Darkseid
If there's no darkseid, thanos wouldn't have existed😢
Thanos was just a very stronk simp in the comics.

She's like one punch man, a joke character.
Marietta McCoy She's a gag character, she's meant to beat characters like thanos with squirrels because it's funny.
