Taxes tied to education....🤣🤣🤣🤣 that part was hilarious
That's how they keep you down.
I just finished watching the whole video. Amazing feedback. I hope devs listen and take action.
I think the game balance is actually better than CSL1. The fact that you have so much demand for single family + so much demand for farming, just shows that this game is not supposed to be played like CSL1, just going for the big busy town, but grow organically like a real town. First you are a farm town, full of farms and small houses and then start to grow. Like like Urbek city, you need a lot of farms before you became a real city. Even tho the game doesn't block the high rise buildings if you want to.
And the taxes by educations seems nonsense IRL but in the game makes perfect sense, because its the only way to control what kind of industry you are going to feed with workers. Because if you let a lot of low educated population grow while focusing on high tech industry you are going to get a lot of homeless and crime.
Also, based on the description of the taxes it self, more taxes, less money for that group, meaning they won't up level as fast. Just like you said: you want save money for education, you can't, cause you pay 30%. That was a problem in CSL1, everyone got great education and them you low level industries have no more workers, and high educated people refuse to work there. Its a way to give you control over that. Anyway, I heart in CSL2 well educated won't refuse low level jobs if they must and people can come to work from another city, so that won't be a problem.
Yeah but Urbek made you do a large wall to wall village which spiralled into a Self Managed Anarchist Utopia, but here in CSII its an endless suburbia which will be hard to get rid off late (Also the population numbers are inaccurate once again grumble grumble...).
Urbek still remains KING especially because of its business model smh🤧🤧
I dont mind the blandness in construction. But i do think there needs to be some improvements in the ground and snow textures and where snow is distributed. The motorcycles in winter are odd as well.
Deciduous trees not loosing their leaves is disappointing. Maybe that will be fixed.
Not by release. Trees are trees. No color change, no snow. They confirmed on stream a while back.
Thank you for the info
@@MoveTheMouseand yet, now, still before release, trees do change colors with the seasons
@@MoveTheMouse hahaha.. The most "advanced" city builder yet! A complete joke.
Umm taxing people based off their education level is crazzzy bru 🤣
To be fair, you’re comparing a game that has been developed for over 10 years with many expansion packs, to a new game. At launch, CS1 didn’t have the university campuses etc. Either. Give it time and either expansion packs or modders will add all these features. And things like motorcycles in the winter are minor tweaks that’ll surely get fixed over time.
the point is that they have built all that stuff before and have it in an old version of the game. how is the new game a downgrade and required more time to have upgrades that are already in old games? that doesn't make sense. ALL the features in CS1 should be in CS2 from the start.
otherwise wtf are you buying a new game for? this game is hardly an upgrade for people that have been playing with mods.
I actually like the 'bland' graphics - it seems more realistic to me than SC1!
Agreed but I would like it to be just a bit brighter
Part of the bland for me is the repetitiveness of the models. Similar colors, same shapes. It needs variations, but that will come from modders or DLC it seems.
As somebody who lives in an area where it's basically Winter from November through March (much like Mouse does) I can tell you thought winter, especially a snowy winter is far from just bland & bleh looking on real life. Actually with a constant layer of snow it's usually brighter out than the middle of summer.
AS they said this is in a beta build. TwoDollartwenty who made the city used by CO said that the snow is not finished and looked different when building New Dollarton.
That is correct but new Dollarton is an older build. Creators are using a more recent build of the game as they work towards release.
It's the motorcycles year round for me. I did double check, and those cars were in the lot, you had just scrolled over an empty one to get to the one you ended up zooming in on, and your brain hadn't registered that one had cars (nor did mine, I had to rewind to look)
I'm glad you figured out what I did in the edit, but was too lazy to notate on screen.
Thank you for the honest criticisms. Sometimes the game looks great and sometimes it looks quite bad.
It's fine, it's Beta things will improve 😂
are cims driving around with windshields covered in snow?
Yup 👍
Thanks for another CS vid! Quite a bit of gray between parking lots, roads, and the buildings. (And I agree the parking lots are a little over kill) hope your health is well! Looking forward to you diving fully into the game once it’s released!
It seems to be a problem with the traffic light 6:34 the lights are not working
I’m glad they finally added dynamic weather I’m tired of having to select a map that’s always snowy or never has snow
You can never turn it off though. That's really disappointing. Hope they change their minds but seasons are baked into the game at this point.
This episode was so chaotic and I love it
Regarding the education tax level;
Logically it could have been an income based system and it would also make more sense.
However the education level (not the actual intelligence of the person) usually reflect income level the individual gets. It's not always true for everyone, but for the waste majority of cases people with low education have lower paying jobs and higher educated jobs have higher paying jobs.
Not 100% but I get the idea they had behind it.
I play with rain because there is no other weather except sunny and rain in CS1. I wish we could turn it off in CS2. Not because I don't want to play with seasons but only because there is sunny, rain and random white texture on the ground.
I was most excited for the weather and seasons in CS2. And I'm as much disappointed with all green trees and weird winter.
Can’t you turn off parking on your roads and maybe they will park in lots more? Anyway I always look for your input for this game.
Or metered street parking so at least you make a little money off of it
Unfortunately that makes them take taxis instead. Something they need to fix with AI pathing and how they value parking options.
Apparently they'd rather pay for a lot nearby over free parking at their destination.
Not only in pre-release version but they didn't fix the snow textures after launch
I would love to be able to tax low residential to encourage high density. Or the fear is that is making this into a Sims City 4?
There's alot of tweaking to be done for sure. The over compensation is a bit much. Eg parking and the fact sims don't use it alot (u can force them to however imo u shouldn't beed to lay roads to stop people parking on the street when there's a perfectly good car park) the weird car covers have to go to. I think they are alot rarer than this game shows them at every other house. People keep trying to say assets are not an issue, but the lack of variety is clear to see. It was always going to be hard coming from cs1 with 8 years of additions, dlcs and mods. But I'd have thought the devs would have realised this. I'm hoping the release will have a bit more to it at base with regard to variety of home buildings and services. Hopefully it's jst a feature showcase/bug finding build 🤞 but yeh kinda confused if this is the finished product with jst bugs and certain features being worked on eg lights and seasons.
Even the eu buildings does not look like eu buildings. This is like a picture of someone not been to EU ever. Not even in the winter. It riminds me of a teenager doing porn. I have seen it, but never done it. Said it before, the game looks rough and close to a downgrade atm
Why are you watching teenage porn?
23:34 "Death by Single Family homes" 💀💀
Winter is looks bad bc this is a beta game, I am pretty sure the snow will cover the building and gardnes etc. I have to agree with the low dense housing demand, its too much, and same with the motorcycles, its also too much. You can force the people to use the parking lots with the road tool, addig side walkway or grass or charging the people with high amount of money for road parking with the district rule. The highways dont have power cables or pipes, its was not elevation problem.
It's getting close to release so hope they fix the snow soon. We are getting weekly updates.
As far as parking, it's messed up. If you turn off street parking or or add paid parking lots, cims just take taxis instead.
They tax by reference to education but see it as it being based on earnings, eg low education means low wages
Hey Mouse, has CO given you the opportunity to play CS2 on a console yet? If so, is it easier to control with a keyboard and moose or controller?
Two words
GREY & FLAT
Is your video sped up at 3:30? Or are the cars really going 600 MPH?!?!
Video is normal speed. That's the game.
tbh even in cs1 i had to use the simulation speed mod to slow things down. hope there is one for number two
@@stevengaines5856 Indeed! It bothers me to see cars flying down city streets in CS1 at 600 MPH!
in cs 2 everything looks cartoon, there is no texture, it's just smooth. When you zoom out the city looks great, but when you zoom in... no detail. I hope they will add more stuff really soon like the modders, cause without them, cs1 will not be as cool has it is now
That would I wish for real live: when its snowing the snow and the rain avoid the streets
The cars are covered but the trees are not. Trees are usually cooler than the ground and will collect snow first
if you keep giving them low density, they will keep coming. Based education works when you need specific level education for jobs, and you can decrease taxes to for those populations to invite them to move in town.
Wow snow was one of the main improvements I was looking forward to, but man this looks so disappointing. As someone who has lived in New England my entire life, snow is a big part of our lives. And yes, no motorcycles are here in the winter, at least where I am at least. 😂 Thanks for the video!
6:27 im sorry but we need to talk about the performance cuz wtf is this? 10 fps? what are your specs
RTX3080, 10700K, 64GB RAM, 2x NVME and medium settings.
My build is linked in the description if you want the full details.
I won't be 'upgrading'... the 1900 hours in Cities has left a mark on my soul...
😱 so much parking! 😱
Yes, compare a full release to a beta
This is the version of the game they gave creators to make content with.
Do you mind sharing which graphic card are you using?
RTX 3080 from MSI. My full setup is linked in the description.
Nice video. Sorry you're getting motion sickness. Hopefully they will give us an off button for rain/snow. Whoever designed No. American residences has no idea what they are doing imo. Can hardly wait for the Workshop - hopefully King Leno, Smilies and others will give us lots of residential assets.
This has been by FAR the most honest CSII video on RUclips yet, holy shit it looks so amateurish 😭😭
Maybe it will get tweaked in updates/patches/DLC?
This is super disappointing! With 800 hrs in CSL1 with mods I dont have any desire to play 2. Looks so dull and alot of game mechanics seem really strange . I usually play with weather off. That snow just looks ridiculous😂
I almost never see car ports in the US
At 13:20 you start talking about parking. Why not force them to use the parking lots by not allowing parking on the street. Or better yet put parking meters up so if they park on the street, you can make some money.😀
Only a small thing but I've never seem motorcycles parked like they do in the game.
the fact this game is full of harley davidson motorcycles and smart cars is f-ing ridiculous. they gave american style homes a massive front yard of driveway for harleys and smart cars. and the way they park does not reflect real life.
Hi mate
I hope you are well
Thank you for your honest opinion on snow yes it does look odd
I feel for snow cs1 at mo
Am interested to see how this game plays on ps5 ect
Keep safe ARP
I was also hoping to see Cities in Motion pancaked into CS II
Shame on the snow - seems like CS1 was a bit over the top but they have miscorrected in CS2. Yeah - your visuals seem a bit janky, i get why it would make you nauseous. Re: Taxes on education level - i think this is an attempt to decide taxes based on job and income level. If the game doesnt calculate resident taxes by income level then they are using Education level as a surrogate for income: the thinking being that higher educated people can demand higher wages - i imagine. Course that means - Do they tax the homeless? and How? I play with weather on and have enjoyed a few winter maps in CS1.
Apart from a few added features I think cs2 is worse than cs1 in every aspect, I'm so disappointed in it
The road tool is way better than vanilla CS 1. But I still want MoveIt, Node Control, Traffic Manager, PropTool...
@@MoveTheMouse it's CS 1.5
basically some QOL upgrades for console players
Cities Skylines II just announced the console editions are being delayed till 2024.
Saw that, I am disappointed asf. I was so damn hyped and now they surprise us (console players) with a 6 month delay. How fun. 😐
give it time, i will buy it when it gets cheaper and few years
Damn... Your FPS goes to sht when you move the camera around. Is your CPU usaged maxed out? And how much RAM is this game pulling?
I've got 64GB of RAM. My full specs are in the description. Can't really talk game performance yet. I can tell you my 10700K is just under the newly updated recommended specs.
Gotcha. NDA and all that. I'll see when they release it then. @@MoveTheMouse
We don't know yet because this is not the final version of the game that people are playing.
What don't we know? Were you trying to reply to another comment?

@@Itsatrap365 And?
@@gscurd75 oh your not a console player you kinda sound like one
Lot's of bugs in the release you guys are building with... I have no doubt most if not all will be addressed by launch or with a day 0 patch
Cs2 on console is now spring 24
What a joke
PlayStation still say 10/24
@@kenaldrich1117 not when I checked
It's delayed@@kenaldrich1117 stores may take a while to update. "Spring 2024" is all we know.

Weather off usually it gets to be too much.
First mod I want to install is Realistic Population lol. That is way to much for 10k residents
you chose american style gameplay so the game is demanding single family suburbs like america. have you ever seen IRL development of low density residential? hilarious to see all the bugs, hopefully they get worked out and the game looks more life like and not so bland
It's NOT theme based. Same thing happens with euro unfortunately. It's how the game works now.
lol they been talking really highly of this game i figured that was a mechanic they implemented.@@MoveTheMouse
Bro just hurt my feelings about this game
Sorry.
I do hope they hear feedback for stuff like this and might fix it later on
This confirms my decision to remain with C:S1 and avoid C:S2 at least until after a collection of useful C:S2 mods and assets become available.
All moot now that its cancelled i guess
Well, this is pretty sad to see. Taxes & demand should be tied to wealth, not education. What an odd choice.
Also, the whole north american theme seems like a parody of it, not the actual thing.
