It was innocent the glance , he looked quickly at his friend as he was frightened and unfortunately it gave him away , it's very sad , they would have found the child anyway regardless

Still one of my favorite films. The quiet moments between the two friends, the silent shots of courtyards and woods, a lurking menace permeating everything; the authenticity of the relationships between the boys, compared to the mother's superficiality -- it was magnificent. I used to show it to my high school French classes. The students were riveted. It's a masterpiece of quiet suspense. Long after the seeing the film, I visited Provins, and was surprised to recognize the setting instantly. A beautiful place. A beautiful film.

I'm taking a European History class through Itunes U (Open Yale), and this is one of the movies I'm assigned to watch. I'm looking forward to it.

I agree. And Yi Yi I think may be the greatest film ever made (your profile picture)!

@@ethidian3444 Yi Yi is great but personally I wouldn't even regard it as Yang's best film let alone the greatest film ever.

don't like this - too tough to watch. I wonder if the glance is true to fact - if so hard to live with for his remaining years.

Fun Fact: I think Tarantino was inspired by this film when he came up with the title Reservoir Dogs...

This was my favorite movie as an American preteen. I thought the two boys were so hot! I was absolutely mesmerized by this film and became obsessed with France. Many years later and now I finally live here 🇫🇷!!!

To their credit, Rog and Gene showed not too much of the restaurant scene.
