I feel like it’s isn’t just the ToP though, not speaking about Masako specifically, just that the fandom really loves ragging on Goku for every little thing for some reason. I mean the only act Goku ever does that can be considered 100% truly selfish is sparing Vegeta and MAAAYBE staying 7 extra months in Yardrat, although that wasn’t really selfish just a necessity to learn IT. Goku realizing if jiren wasn't a good guy he a his firends would've gone for good. (Of course Jiren ended up being a jerk and Goku learning nothing)
@WikiThis Didn't they say they were expecting the winner to wish all universes back to prove those universes were worthy of being kept alive? Also it is not like the shock of losing your universe at the moment has no impact. Ex. My sister dissapeared in a "mall" on a dangerous zone. No phone calls were reaching her. We spent hours looking for her thinking the worse had happened. She appeared a couple of hours later with her friend and told us they were robbed while they were walking to our meeting place. Her friend had a panic a attack and she had to walk inside to later on getting to her place via another route thanks to a restaurant worker. In the end they were not entirely in danger (aside for the moment they were robbed) but that didn't meant our whole family was laughing minutes later. We were happy she came back unharmed, but we also developed some protocols for this kind of situations and we are grateful we haven't had to implement them. So yeah I guess if in the end there are no fatal consequences doesn't mean you don't change at all.
@WikiThis If the entire end result was a deception from the start, why would you trust anything they said? It was outright stated after the fact that, had Android 17 wished for anything except the return of those other universes, all participating universes would've been erased permanently. World Tournaments 21-23: Goku pushes himself in order to win, with the help of his friends. Tournament of Power: Goku pushes Jiren in order to lose, with the help of Frieza.
So when you lose and fail you can only rise again stronger and better and overcome that lose and learn from it, or you just simply lose and never evolve as a person. I like it.

@@supershenron9162 I personally think you're both wrong, honestly. Masako's interpretation of that what-if is quite extreme, but it'd also be silly to suggest that Goku wouldn't change at all. Master Roshi took efforts to curb Goku's arrogant, prideful nature... something that we see become more and more prominent as Goku continues to find less and less legitimate competition. Not only is it more prominent to the audience, it's apparent to the other members of the cast, and they point it out as early as the Namek Saga of Z.
@@dontmisunderstand6041 He wouldn't though not really not any other opponent has ever really changed him after hes won except for maybe focused him a little bit more
@@supershenron9162 That makes his defeat at the hands of Jackie Chun all the more important. The Dragon Ball storyline extends for 30 some odd years, and Goku only really gets humbled by his opponents 4 or 5 times. A very clear growing problem happens with his character, losing one of so precious few events that curb the problem is huge.
I'm still fascinated about the fact that even Vegeta believes Goku defeated him. And that never happened. Vegeta outclassed Goku and only "lost" to the Deus Ex-Machina that is the sudden growth of a second tail... Just amazing.
@@IvyHilts I think Vegeta has gotten so used to curbstomping folks that he's mentally unprepared to actually have to fight someone. Semi-Perfect Cell was clearly " his bad " and Majin Buu was clearly way to broken in power to overcome. Still training with Goku and training against Goku is not entirely fighting against him and is generally great for both characters power wise. But is not so great when you have to fight against something wholly different like the manga Moro for example.
Sure don't know how Cell would have the energy to destroy the planet after his fight with Kakarot. Maybe if a CLOWN gave him a senzu he'd have enough. Even in his semi-perfect form he had enough.
@@bhgameman We don't actually know that. In fact, it could easily be said that the Super Saiyan 3 transformation takes Goku such a long time to actually pull off that doing it mid-battle would be nearly impossible against such an evenly matched opponent. And even if Vegeta just let him do it, there's no guarantee Goku would have the time remaining on earth to secure a win once he did pull out Super Saiyan 3. And we don't really know how the battle would've ended if that cheap shot didn't happen, either.

Discussion on Ginyu?
Guy switches bodies as a hobby. Who knows how many bodies he's had over the years.
Salza.
@@thecrowe20 what
@Pokémaniac Guquiz he means Salza supposedly knows what Ginyu’s original body was

Why does everyone act like goku wasn't selfish before super?
Basically, losing makes everyone better.
When people saying Goku never defeated vegeta, tell them Goku did Much Much worse than Defeat (Vegeta Standard)
I just realized Goku has not won many battles
In DBZ and DBS
I still want Majin Piccolo...
It won't work. Evil in Piccolo is gone
World Tournaments 21-23: Goku pushes himself in order to win, with the help of his friends.
Tournament of Power: Goku pushes Jiren in order to lose, with the help of Frieza.
So, he really hasn't won much, barring maybe the movies
With the movies, having Goku take the win is an easy way to wrap things up in a 40-50 minute timeframe.
So when you lose and fail you can only rise again stronger and better and overcome that lose and learn from it, or you just simply lose and never evolve as a person.
I like it.
so may people are fluent to the art of losing like goku, yancha and vegeta
GOKU: the biggest loser?
Me: No, we all know who is the biggest losser, Yamcha
I love Krillin cause he’s down to clown, they be like sooo evil threat that goku and vegeta can’t beat is coming down the street and he just goes *sigh* guess I gotta go shave my head
Vegeta is the character I feel benefits the most from his losses
When's nappa what if?
What if gokus pod landed in penguin village? Fun way to merge slump manga and dragon ball
What if piccolo jr. Won against goku?
did u give goku voice in dbz adbriged
Yes.
something not related to the video:
i find intresting thst ever since dragon ball z theres always people that are against training for believing that there couldnt be a stronger oponent to face than piccolo, cell or buu
Two teams. Two Saiyans. Two diets. One goal.
It won't be easy. The Z Warriors will be pushed to their physical and emotional limits.
However, instead of counting power levels, the winner will be counting zenni.
Will they survive the challenges, and each other? In the end, the biggest loser... will be the biggest _winner._
Goku really doesn't win as much as people think he does, unless you allow the movies to skew your perception. Then for the most part then you'd be right lol.
You know who has the biggest loss in the entire franchise? Future Trunks. He repeatedly lost against the androids, before repeatedly losing against Goku Black, and then lost an entire MULTIVERSE. Poor guy can’t catch a break.
At least he didn't lost his arm...
True, but I’m sure he’d rather lose an arm than everything he was fighting for and then some.
@@Hawkcam1996 I agree with you, actually. I was just joking about future Gohan (which I think is the most interesting and sad character of the franchise), and his arm...
"Bad Winner"?
... Jiiireeeen?
Goku win loss ratio is horrible really but he is the master of the zenkai boost comeback.
This was on my mind for awhile, which I like, I'm glad he's not unbeatable and far from perfect, just like Superman who some think he is.
Seriously, saying Majin Vegita's love for his family made him sacrifice himself is saying much.
Majin Vegita is pretty much an allegory for a middle-aged man looking at his current life, feeling unsatisfied and wanting to recapture the glory of his carefree youth. After choosing to throw his life away to feel young again, he realizes what he did and kills himself because he can't own up to it.
The "omg Vegita lub his kid he hugge him" bit is just cringe...
Besides you don't want to diss on the character you voice in TFS
Goku got humilated by golden frieza
Goku got one shot by black frieza
Broly makes gokh trampolined
vegeta always beat goku
goku got crash his bone
Saitama really wanted to help.

9:23 are hinting at your next what-if?

We just ignoring the red ribbon army out here
No, Sal is
Oh yea it’s Thursday.

Im suprised he has more L's than frickin Vegeta
If you lose, say nothing.
If you win, say even less.
YES
goku procreated and is the main character of the series.
yamcha ,tien and choatzu ..... lmao
That what if goku won against Jackie series is my least favorite as it's so far from goku's personality. Not in the good way like the what if Cell turned good series
That's the entire point, that's why Roshi disguised himself as Jackie Chun in the first place. To prevent that reality.
@@dontmisunderstand6041 No I mean I just don't think it would have gone down the way that masako has portrayed this. It's not in gokus nature even at that point when he was a kid. If he won it wouldn't have changed anything except that he won. It's kid goku
Wolverine is the original One Punch Man and Vegeta never lost to Goku.
Just the facts folks.
"winning" define victory condition. Technically Goku "won" against Cell if Cell lost enough energy to be unable to destroy the planet.
Sure don't know how Cell would have the energy to destroy the planet after his fight with Kakarot. Maybe if a CLOWN gave him a senzu he'd have enough. Even in his semi-perfect form he had enough.
This is Yakon erasure
Hello
I don't know about all that, but Vegeta is undefeated against Goku.
First time yeah, but Buu Saga was a cheap win that he wouldn't have gotten in an on guard fight.
@@bhgameman
Plus Vegeta soon realized Goku was holding back during that fight because he busted out Super Saiyan 3 later.
Nice bob dylan reference
16 shall dunk all the Gokus

9:46 Then in that case why not try What If Piccolo Never Turned Good?
Sorry, but to me, Db Super is NOT Canon, its destroys a lot of established lore, and deconstructs a lot of characters, main characters like Goku, Piccoro, Gohan and more
