- CK3 or Crusader Kings 3 is a game where empires collapse.. in this case, the Mongol Empire. The CK3 mongols or CK3 mongol empire (or even the CK3 Mongol Invasion) always ends up collapsing because that's how it goes with a horde. This tengri horde presents a hard CK3 challenge in this alternate start date! You need to try this CK3 mod as it really does offer more gameplay!

"At this point and time, Genghis is 42 years of age.
So we are going to see if we can change that"
Well Laith, I assume he will indeed get older as time goes by
"My eldest will become the Khagan and the others will take up little provinces" Yes. Those famously small provinces that his children ended up with.
Like the mongol empire
Right now I'm playing my fifth ck3 campaign, I'm 180years and 5 generations in, Formed Wallacia, conquered the Peregense, half of Poland, and part of Hungary. Swore fealty to the Byzantines, usurped the Imperial throne, fought 4 civil wars l. and as I zoom out, all I see is a a sea of blue at my doorstep with 50k troops.
I know the Mongols are OP enough but to make it more historically accurate and less annoying they need to allow an option to threaten the smaller duchies and kingdoms into submission
Oh, c'mon. Richard "Lionheart" I only bankrupted his country for his religious beliefs, got nothing significant for England in holy land, got cought in his way home in Austria, had to pay for it like 3 years income of England and died shortly after in France. No biggies, he's not that bad, you know
Im pretty sure he liked his french lands and subjects more than the english ones as well

Agree

Handing out land with a big chunk just on one character seems like it'd be a tonne faster, because you won't be clicking like 3 times per province you could just give all the one conquests to just one character.
Also I feel like in CK3 the speed of Mongol collapse is kinda insane, like it did mostly stick around for a few rulers and then splintered into more like the sons get various emperor titles rather than, the entire steppe reverts to a bunch of tiny independent rulers. Even if the like various scripted hordes do form which is rare they often don't last. Still waiting on that Nomad/Mongol rework.
i know there trying to fix that an have the mongols stick around for a bit longer in the next update
Also the region where the Mongols did stick around the most is not included on the CK3 map
@@oakleafcurrents2976 iirc the chagatai were the longest lasting khanate of the empire
@@platypipope328 didnt know that, it’s interesting, I just assumed the yuan dynasty had more influence and time but I don’t know enough I suppose
@@oakleafcurrents2976 The Yuan initially did but they and the Ilkhanate were the first to collapse, considering everything the Golden/Great Horde and Chagatai did quite well
Great Liao is a Khitan khanate, I strongly advise to check out their history and their statecraft in China, it's quite fascinating
The slow descent into madness
John was given the name lackland because originally he didn’t get any land while his brothers were granted titles from their father
Enjoy your duchy inheritance son number 4 whatever your name is.
At 14:50 the army supply is going down because its hostile territory and un-sieged. The other stack is increasing supply bc that area was seiged down
Aktually 🤓 King John got the nickname Lackland because he never recieved any holdings from his father unlike his brothers. But he eventually still became king.
His stress is such a calmness to my soul.
Game seeing you do well:
"We can't have that around here."
"Hes currently 42 years of age. Today we're gonna see if we can change that"
Impressive
6:24 it wasn't Genghis Khans predecessors that conquered areas in Europe because they came BEFORE him... i think you mean successors? or some such similar word
This looks like an improved version of that video where you simulated the Mongol Empite in EU4 extended timeline
Day 35 of asking Laith to play as Krakow in EU4
What about Krakow in Vic 2 instead
Atleast you did better than the actual mongols who split once their fourth khan died and kubai tried to take the throne he managed to kill his competitor but since many other khans supported his competitor ariq böke. The empire broke apart
as a tunision youshud be proud of being mongolian
As a Brit, you should be proud to be mongolian
Pretty sure he’s Tunisian
6:30. Genghis went to Central Asia and Persia. And destroyed a lot of things there. He burnt cities down when he promised not to if city surrendered, took a lot of people in slavery, ruined irrigation systems to flood cities
Check some materials on this theme, I was impressed and terrified when I read about it
ah, you've been reading the propaganda I see.
@@Gustav_Kuriga like, whose propaganda?

I was just playing this start date it’s really well made
Nah, I haven't aged one bit during this video, on the contrary. Seeing you suffer in paradox games is always just reinvigorating for me.
11:05 OK how many times has Laith dismantled the HRE to achieve his goals???
I would of loved to seen this done by you but not rushed in management. I would of liked to seen it as a 2 part edited series.
You can demand subjugation and take all the realm as your vassal
Is it really a CK3 session if you don't at least walk away 9+ hours later with a massive headache and exhausted eyes?
if the player unites the mongols instead of it uniting in an event does it also splinter like in the event (IL Khan, Chagatai, Golden Horde, white horde, Black horde etc.) ?
How do you start at 1204? Is that some kind of mod?
Does anyone know which mod this is? I imagine More Bookmarks
Chagatai is the kid that was born when Ghengis Khans wife was taken by another tribe. I think he overcompensated for it with the number of wives he ended up taking.
That would be Jochi, not Chagatai.
Also you are playing ck3 like its HOI or other PDX games. Like the reason you had to surrender the independence war was, your stacks did not have any siege equipment so it would take a year to get the siege done.
Don’t split your armies so much and invest heavily into siege equipment men at arms. Ck3 war is who can out siege the other. And keeping your siege equipment together compounds their effect
Also please start moving your rally point closer lol
He had to split his armies up that much because there is 0 supply in the steppes and the mountains where he was fighting
yo can u beat spain as inca in 1540?
Thank you my friend
Laith statecraft was literally the reason Ghengis Khan was an unstoppable force. The bow tech and military prowess don’t prevent rebellions and create unity. You should’ve micro managed state craft and just not meddled in succession and let high partiition be what rips you apart.
would love to see the date and maybe move laifs abit to the left of the screen.
This game is rebellion simulator….that’s all it is. Didn’t they just add more even harsher rebellions
Consider myself "outed as a [cycle path]"
Does anyone know why China wasn’t included in CK3? Is that time in Chinese history perhaps hard to simulate or something?
It's because crusader kings is about medieval Europe, the region of China was too far away to include in a game about the crusading period. At least that's why I think it wasnt included
Because they don't want to spend the time to represent the Chinese government system and all the extra land to add. I really hoped they would have added China and Japan in CK3 but they didn't and probably won't. There is a mod to add the rest of the east though it's barely compatiable with any other mod.
It doesn't have anything to do with what @Daniel Dato said I don't think. If that was the case why would they include Sub-Saharan Africans and India/Indochina.
This game lags hard enough once enough time has passed, and China is massive.
Engine limitations was the reason in ck2 and the fact that ck2's "governments" were incompatible with china's, and tbh byzantium's as well, bureaucratic government. My guess is that just how India was added via expansion in ck2 will china be added as an expasion in ck3
Laith is infuriatingly bad at vassal management
Ah, winning was easy, young man, governing's harder.
talking of the holy roman empire.. (eu4) i was trying dithmarschen (ps... is it best to stay dithmarschen? or swap to hanover then germany? or go straight to germany?) anyway.. annoyingly austria got pus over bohemia & burgundy... i keep warring austria but they stay strong.. i cant seem to weaken them... any hints? they keep allying annoying strong people like russia so i do a war against a small nation in the hre they are allied to and not cobeligerating them.. i released styria , they just took it back again before i could war them again...i took 3 provinces it cost me 99 ae they then re ally russia again..
if you can make their PUs disloyal (obliterate austria's armies while leaving the PU armies intact) and support their independence, thats one way to significantly weaken austria. Staying as Dithmarschen means you get more flavour, Hanover has better ideas
@@hashtagrex they had already integrated the pus by the time i was warring them.. how do i make them disloyal? i was dithmarschen & pretty weak for a long time... i got strong by getting an accidental war that included scotland.. so i decided to take most of scotland and ireland (not my original plan) and then i went colonial (not my original plan) i was allied to austria for a long time so they got strong, thjen i took out denmark allying sweden and then started to want to invade russia with help of poland & sweden by then austria had broken the alliance cos i had too much hre land.. and they kept allying russia just as i wanted to invade.. and as usual all my allies in this game like to be useless and even though we could win easily any enemy like austria always concentrates on fighting my troops and ignoring my allies
@@tigrecito48 theres a variety of ways to make PUs disloyal, id recommend getting some yourself and seeing the modifiers in the subjects tab by hovering over the % loyalty. The most important ones you'll see, which you can directly affect, are economic power and army strength. You can cripple a nation's economy with devastation, so sieging the senior partner of the PU and just ramping up as much devastation as you can can eke out extra disloyalty. There are times when theres not enough you can do. All you can really do is keep an eye on that loyalty percentage and know when's the best time to try to drive it up, and be careful not to accidentally drive it down by brutalising the junior partner.
However, know that a nation that has integrated the PU is actually *far* weaker. Keeping a PU means a second manpower pool, twice the mana generation and an extra "brain" to control armies during war. Often, the lesser partner is also able to eke out more income from their own lands than youd be able to get, so they upkeep a larger army. I could go on, like having twice the number of accepted cultures, but you get the point. While initially it seems that integrating makes a nation much more powerful, in reality integration causes a slight loss on the land than kept under a second nation
@@hashtagrex ive never worked out how to get pu's other than by random luck or with missions & events.. for example my most successful playthru was my second plathru in playing the game as spain.. i allied england and russia and got both as pus... i invaded portugal cos i didnt know you can pu them and aragon also cos i didnt know its better to ally and pu back then... then i took france... then i luckily got russia & england as pus and i owned all the colonies back when colonising was easier cos natives wewrent super amazing at conquering & becoming huge nations.. austria gets tons of bonuses for being leader of the hre so its not that weak without its pus... for example im playing a custom italian nation now was trying to see what ideas could make me the best possible at diplo annexing.. diplo reputation, ae reduction, and others.. i took virtually all of italy and all the Mediterranean coastline, beat the ottomans & mamluks, & france have 11 diplo slots... byzantium syria, algiers, gascony, i went a lot more military wins than diplo annexing cos i fell into my old ways of playing.. what i dont understand is how to know if i will be able to convince nations to become a vassal after allying them? i used to try that when i first started playing and often relised after hours of wasted time theyd ally me but i couldnt get above 190 or theyd have some big negatives saying they dont want to be a vassal or something.. i was originally going to see if i could do a just diplo vassalising expansion or warring forcing people to be vassals and then integrating really fast.. i dunno if i chose the right national ideas though. also it takes so long to fully get the ideas that if you just did that you wouldnt be expanding much and would stay weak & be bored.. i initially thought id just take italy forcefully and after that id just force vassalise everyone or diplo vassalise and keep expanding that way but like i said i fall into my old ways of doing stuff.. warring taking land.. so i ended up with a pretty huge area within 120 years with spain austria & england as allies also.. and you say austria is weak when integrated stuff.. but austria got bohemia & burgundy again and they have 110k troops and even though i got a huge empire with most of the Mediterranean i only have 60k not including my vassals.. mainly due to my bad economy (probably one of the things im worst at in the game and mostly seem to be broke) youd think if i owned all of the mediterranean apart from spain & nearly all of italy id be rich and yet with 60k troops and only 7 forts and 3 advisors of 2 points each i get like +3 ducats a month...
Do you use The Movies soundtrack all the time?
I am here once again to petition for Laith book recommendations
Such an weird timeline. Based gigachad khakas kicked mongolian asses and live peacefully in their own country. (I was in Abakan museum. Their culture was very progressive before they met mongols irl.) Also Rus' and Ruthenia exist simultaneously. They are literally two names for russian principalities. The east slavic one and the west european one. Vladimir principality of that times called itself Rus' as well.
What are you talking bout.i enjoyed it and not only that but also would love to watch a world conquest series🤣
No wonder the British language sounds like throwing up,
The Mongolians gave their language but not any of the pronounciaton,
So it sounds like throwing up now.
Laith plays as Genghis Kahn? turn up the throat singing as he burns the world!
Where's the Galicia Volhynia playthrough though?
What about this challenge: see how far you can go in a playthru from the west (ie. Iceland) to the east (ie. Pagan) just through marriages. No conquering. I think we all know you're just the right bloke for the job.
Do this but nestorian
You overestimate my knowledge of history. You could tell me Marco Polo and Genghis khan were homosexual lovers and i would probably believe you
is this a dlc?
Love it

It would be great if you repeated this with the Asia Expansion Project mod, that adds Asia.
Ikh Chinggis Khaan ftw (the K in Khaan/Khan/Khagan/Khanate/Khaganate is silent and semi silent in Ikh.)
Wait, Laith is 23? We were probably born in the same year!
discord said leave a comment.
what one should do when managing an empire is to give a kid of yours a kingdom title a county and that duchy and then if that kid also has kids give them their own duchies and transfer vassalage to that kid and the rinse and repeat for every kingdom.
And if you are in the late game always go for the primogeniture fascination so you can open either primo- or ultimogeniture! if one is smart one also chooses equal inheritance on the start screen before one accepts which character one chooses!
the problem with first tactic the problem becomes if one has children with high martial.
well civil wars are a part of life in a tribal or nomad empire.
Demand subjugation from the ai bro its for the whole empire war
I’m 23 as well 😂😂😂🤦🏾♂️
Day 25 of asking Laith to play Imperator: Rome with the Invictus mod.
so why isn't China in the game, that would be a good dlc
It might be because of how the Mandate might work? I’m not sure, but China (+ Japan) would be very cool to see
