I read an article about him landing great deals with multiple leading supermarkets just a few months after appearing on Dragon's Den and one of the judges from the show admitted they were wrong. His business seems to be doing pretty great and growing steadily 😊

50% margin, not profit. They have to cover all their expenses and overhead from that, of which there is an enormous amount. Wages, rent, utilities, insurance, spoilage/shrinkage etc. Most grocery stores run in the single digits of net profit margin percentage.

I still choose my favourite flavour of Wrigleys off the shelf, I barely even have to look at the shelf, which is full of one brand only. It's not even a shelf its a stand alone unit in almost every shop.

Yuca is wrong, every retailer works off a 33% margin and he knows it. Tuca is the outsource mogul, he knows he he can’t do anything for this business. They can’t have the network they claim they have or can’t offer the kind of exposure that is necessary to make products a success. If they could do what we think they could they should be able to make many of these products cheaper and easier to sell but we don’t see that, they only invest in companies that have everything already in place and then also demand massive %s to get involved, if they add so much to a business why wouldn’t they invest at the lower rates if this is going to be the big player and open the doors they need.
I've seen entrepreneurs who pitched a million times worse than this and got investment. Very unfortunate - I thought he was fantastic and can imagine he'd also be great to work with. I wonder if the Dragons regretted their decision
