Nakashima is now 3-0 vs Rune lifetime. Seems like Brandon has figured out Holger’s Game, or Holger can’t get a hold on Nakashima’s game. Either way, very impressive from Nakashima and very disappointing from Rune. Holger has gone on record by saying him, Alcaraz, and Sinner are the next “big 3.” Well Holger, in order to be in the same category as Alcaraz and Sinner, you need to actually WIN a grand slam! Not get eliminated in the first round by a wildcard ranked outside the top 100!!! Rune is WAY closer to Alexi Popryn than he is Alcaraz or Sinner. Just because you won a Masters 1000, doesn’t mean your on the same level as Alcaraz or Sinner.
@@brandonchan8255 You need to read the post carefully actually, not the guy you're talking to. Nakashima is ranked 50th in the world right now, he isn't a wildcard "ranked outside the top 100" like the post above says.
actually, he hasn't done badly the last 4 tournaments at all (round of 16 or better losing against respectable opponents). this was his first truly bad defeat since May.
I am really sorry to see Rune hurting like this :( he obviously need to find a right coach and a right aproach at the moment. his serve became weak, his shots became weaker, playing more safely but that was really not his gamestyle that made him great player. he had some arrogance outbursts but overall i really like him as he seems like a really nice guy and a fair player. i wish him to find his old form asap as he is truely a great player when he trust his shots and his gameplan
When has Rune ever been a great player? He mostly beat himself, particularly in big matches. I was excited for him working with Becker, but ever since they split Rune never made any impact again.
You realise he is only 50 in the rankings right now at 22 . I don’t even think he gets past Cazaux . But he could have a run . Maybe this could be his breakthrough .
I remember Nakashima v Alcaraz in a Nex Gen match in Italy, and it was a great match. Nakashima has the groundstrokes to be much higher ranked. I'm rooting for him.
@@Windansea You cannot but love Brandon's on court conduct. What a focused, sober demeanour. But what he is lacking ,somewhat, is certain athleticism - or footspeed. @@Matthew9818 As much as I like Nakashima, I am a huge fan of Arthur "generational talent" Cazaux. And it might very well be that the French baguette will be too tough a lunch for the Californian to swallow. We will stay tuned in.
I'm shocked that Rune was able to get a tight last set against Nakashima. Winning 4 games in one set against a Top 50 opponent is quite suprising and an amazong achivement for a player like Rune
Firstly, take nothing from Nakashima- he played a great match. Secondly, comments about Rune much too harsh! A brilliant player had a bad day. Typical social media stuff here…thousands of experts in the comments section with tips for the world’s best players. Really, we have no idea what it takes to get where they are, support them!
It was not long time ago when Rune was playing with the same level as Alcaraz. What happened to his performance now? There are many factors such as coach, attitude, team, etc. Rune should seriously find-out and correct this or these immediately. He is still young and his future still looks bright. That is if he still wants to return to top 10 ranking.
did rune make major changes to his game? cause it seems to me like he was an alcaraz type player once, aggressive with lots of variety, and recently pivoted to a more measured, defensive approach
As much as it pains me to say it, the "next big 3" does not include Holger Rune. The best candidate for 3rd is Ben Shelton, unless Musetti fills out his frame and brings power to the top-tier grit. Shelton's pure power is only rivalled by Alcaraz -- add in mobility, and you have a multi-time major threat, annoying yells, grunts, and celebrations notwithstanding 😅
That was an underwhelming performance by any standard. Rune needs to distance himself from his mother’s influence in his tennis career, find a professional coach, and genuinely commit to their guidance. It's time for him to mature. The league now understands his current capabilities, so he must evolve his game and redefine his playing style to stay competitive. He is too talented to waste his career like this.
From all the Nordic players, the only one to trust is Ruud. Is a fighter, whereas Rusuvuori, Rune or the Ymers even trying hard are players with a lot of work to improve.
Rune sembra tutto fuorchè un giocatore promettente. Davvero deludente vederlo perdere al primo turno 3 a 0 contro Nakashima che al contrario ha giocato benissimo.
When a player is coached by Kenneth Carlsen, known for the highest amount of first round grandslam-losses in open-era, then this result shouldn't come as a surprise.
What a beatdown. Holger believed too much on his own hype. All those i'm a member of the new big 3 are quite absurd. He should try to focus as soon as possible or he'll become a shadow of what he was supposed to be
rune showed no ❤ here, not sure what the issue is but if you want to play at a major, you need to turn up!! terrible performance from a seeded player.....👎👎🎾
Rune is wasting his talent. He needs to fire his mom and get a proper coach and team of professionals around him otherwise he'll end up like Tsitsipas at best or Felix Auger Aliassime at worst.
What a massively mid performance by Holger.. at least based on what I’m seeing here. Brandon didn’t have to do TOO much it looks like really.. Is it me or was Rune playing really deep behind the baseline too?
Holger- Patrick, why did I lose?
Patrick- wrist loose, throw the racquet on the ball, woosh woosh... Bravo.. Next time do this
