  • Recipe from Tastes Better from Scratch
    ingredients
    1 package lady fingers (savoiardi)
    1/3 cup of sugar
    1 tsp vanilla
    1 cup of strong coffee (note original recipe calls for 1.5 cups but I found that I actually only needed less than a cup. I used instant espresso granules and for 1 cup used about 2 tbsp coffee)
    1.5 cup cream
    225g of mascarpone cheese
    8 inch (20 cm container)
    if you are going to do a piping design, I think you would need more cream mixture!
    To the cream mixture I would increase the measurements by 1/3 cup cream and 50 g more mascarpone and 1.5 tbsp more sugar )
    1. Cream, sugar and vanilla go into a bowl. Whisk till stiff peaks. This took me about 6 ish minutes on low -medium speed. Add mascarpone cheese and beat until incorporated (less than 30 seconds!). Set aside.
    2. Add coffee to another bowl. Dip the lady fingers in. I like how the recipe states it so I will just put it in here “Don't soak them--just quickly dip them on both sides to get them wet” - do exactly that! And put them into the pan to form the first layer.
    3. Smooth half of the cream mixture over the top and add another layer of dipped lady fingers.
    4. Smooth remaining mascarpone on top and refrigerate. Needs at least 4 hours!
    If you too are planning to make this a bit fancier and pipe the top ( I got this idea from Bromabakery!) . Instead of following the final step, smear a thin layer of cream mixture on top. Enough to just cover the biscuits (you will still see biscuits sticking out as it is a thin layer). Use the remaining cream mixture to pipe your design. Close knit bobbles are what we are after- they will look so cute - do better than I did :D

      Tirami su: in Italian language = Pick me up, lift my spirits and physical strength. It is a very energetic dessert thanks to the coffee, mascarpone and eggs contained in the biscuits. In the traditional recipe the eggs are also placed in the mascarpone cream like zabaglione.

    Tiramisu is suppose to have egg yolks in it

      Yeah and it doesn’t have whipping cream at all

      It’s supposed to have egg white whipped and folded into a whipped yolk-sugar-cheese mixture. It’s like an uncooked cheese custard mousse.

      @@g33xzi11a yeah it’s the white part of the egg whipped with mascarpone, and then the egg yolks

      @@kevinboshnjaku2407 to clarify you can’t whip the white with mascarpone. Egg whites don’t whip with fat present and mascarpone is like 30% milk fat.

      @@g33xzi11a I’m literally Italian, I know how to make tiramisu, you first whip the whites and THEN add the mascarpone, after you beat the egg whites

    This Tiramisu recipe is for people who have underlying conditions that can’t eat raw eggs.

      You can make a tiramisu with cooked or at least pasteurized eggs. Instead of a French meringue (raw eggs) make an Italian meringue which cooks the eggs with hot sugar. It will also be more stable and allows for the use of Gelatine. You can also pasteurize the egg yolks by whipping them over a double boiler until they’re reach temperature and then continue whipping them for a couple minutes after that before adding the mascarpone cheese

    Looks yummy & pretty! Homemade imperfections make it perfect!
    High end restaurants mught make their presentation perfect but the flunk out in the taste department!!

      Gli albumi d uovo non ci andrebbero anche se molto li mettono per fare una crema più spumosa.
      Il vero tiramisù è solamente mascarpone zucchero e tuorlo basta .
      Questo nel video del tiramisù ha solo la forma

      It is going to be very heavy if you do that. You could probably whip chilled non-fat dry milk (if you have that), then FOLD IN softened cream cheese. But hey, do you! How bad could it be!?

    This is not how u actually make it. Actual tiramisu is more soft and u keep it in freezer and use mascarpone cheese, it’s the most creamy cheese. 🤤
