The last song my boyfriend and me listened to before he died. It's his 2nd anniversary. I love this song, even though I get goosebumps when I listen to the lyrics, they were like a prophecy. "it could have been a wonderful year, instead we might not make it to the end..." I'm grateful for this song even though it makes me cry.

I have just found out the meaning of this song, and it is so beautiful. Simon Neil's wife had three miscarriages. This video portrays how Neil reacted each time. The first time he receives the news on the phone from his wife, he is angry and wanted to attack everyone else. This only leads to him getting beaten and hurt. The video then replays itself with Neil getting another phone call, telling him that his wife has had another miscarriage. However this time, he reaches in a kinder way. Ultimately, this still hurts him (he gets beaten up). At the end he receives the third phone call, and his face screams out that he can not go through this again. The line 'You gave me magical' references the children that sadly died.

lina sayed a song doesn't necessarily need to specifically state what the meaning behind it is. However he did say in an interview with Kerrang! in late 2012 how its ''about that time last year where I felt like everything was falling apart," after his wife's miscarriages and how "It's about trying to give someone something and it's not helping; you're not going anywhere and you've reached a point where it's f---ed. There are some lyrics about hanging from invisible chords. It's not literally about suicide, but that's the idea - partly about the band, partly about me and my wife; that idea of 'stay together or end it.'"
+David McConnell well, I don't think the song's about Simon reacting about the miscarriages. It's more about how they dealt with the aftermath. The struggles and almost falling apart from constant touring and not being able to be there for her and how that took a toll on their relationship. So he's asking if given the chance would she change anything. If they could've done something different to avoid this pain and heartbreak. The video is showing sometimes the pain is inevitable no matter how you react. So it's up to you how you are gonna deal with it.

They're amazing live, even better than on recording.
I seen them last week and was absolutely blown away. I remember them years ago and then just recently got reintroduced to them and it just happened they were on tour and actually playing in a city near me. Unbelievable. Never heard a band sing so amazing live before. Absolutely unreal...😊😊😊
It shows that there are two ways you can deal with a situation and two ways you can be remembered there's the first where you make a scene and vent all you anger around you or you can go down with a smile on your face and be good to everyone around you either way though you are still going to be remembered for these actions

I was never really a fan of Biffy, I'd only ever been played many of horror and bubbles and I couldn't see why there was such a hype, but after seeing them at reading I was blown away. They were so so amazing and now I've got loads of catching up to do!

For me when I listen to this and watch the video, it seems to say that no matter what happens in life, sometimes it doesn't matter if you do good or not, bad things will still happen to you. The world around you will continue to suck, but you can still have a good attitude about it.

Biffy Clyro is a band. The man you’re talking about is Simon Neil, lead guitarist/singer. The band also includes James Johnston and Ben Johnston. Also, Matt Cardle covered their song Many of Horror for the X-Factor final, people get confused because X-Factor changed the name of the song to When We Collide instead of keeping the original. Biffy are amazing but THEY are a band.

I discovered this song in 2018 when my parents were away visiting my brother's family in Australia and I was home alone for threr months.
I remember very vividly reading the story behind the song -- about Simon's wife having three miscarriages.
This year (2020) it was actually me that was visiting my brother there, and it was all fine until the whole situation with the Corona virus and the lockdown happened.
Namely, on the day I was meant to depart, I got a call from my homeland that the airports were to be shut and so, understandably so, I couldn't catch the flight. I was so scared and devastated not only because it meant that I'd lose a full semester, as well as the plane ticket money, but also because we had no reasurance of what's gonna happen next and if I'd ever be able to go back home.
Fast forward to four months of extended stay here, in Australia, I was finally meant to depart, since my native country had reopened the borders at the start of July.
Again, I had to embark on the 19th, (quite ironically, if you're asking me), but didnt think this would mean bad luck again.
So last night we're all out, enjoying my last night here with glasses being raised to wish me a safe journey when then again, my brother calls me aside and shows me a message saying my flight had been cancelled.
At first I thought he was making fun of me, but even though I didnt think he'd do that, I couldn't take him seriously. I was aware that it was true, so I just started smiling in disbelief. To be honest, I did expect something like that to happen potentially, but didnt think it actually would.
Luckily, this time they did pick up from the company and told us that the flights to Serbia would start operating from the upcoming week. At least this time the borders hadn't been shut, so in a way I am relieved. However, I don't think it's gonna be of any luck, judging by the song.
My brother always says that I look too much into things and even that I get a bit weird with stuff like that, but how can you not after stuff like these? Its called foreshadowing and it actually exists! Its got nothing to do with Truman's syndrome lol
