Joanna is probably one of the best Decorators I miss her and Chip on HGTV but do understand they have 5 children that keep you busy I love her farmhouse style
Wow JoAnn I didn’t know you had a paint line! And watching the balloon test and the newspaper test was very convincing. I’m not your paint the walls different colors every year…person. I’m the that looks great, I’ll check it in 5 years..girl. This paint looks like it’s right up my alley. Thank you!
I am so curious why everyone and every tv show, movie etc, use music in the background that competes with the person talking. PS. Your paint line looks amazing.
Yes I agree, background music should be eliminated as it distracts concentration or focus on what it’s being said. I want to focus on the information rather than background music. It pollutes the thought process.
I've noticed this as well- And its not a good thing. All these videos having MUSIC in the background is making our brains create more Dopamine. It's over stimulation as well. It's very very unhealthy. And now with Tic Tok- The small, very fast hits of Dopamine are truly horrific. Now more than ever- Stay away from the internet and live life to the fullest. Just get on and off for info, like this video. And NO internet before sleep times.
I LOVE the peel & stick paint color samples! How wonderful of the company to think about updating the whole process we all use to pick our new colors! So very convenient! Thank you!
@@MachoRaton They’re a nominal expense compared to painting a room in a color you realize doesn’t work with the light or the decor, etc, or that you end up hating on the wall.
I've used aluminum foil to wrap up brushes for years! Foil and then into a plastic bag. Same with pan liners, I just line it with foil and toss when done. Doesn't short around like a plastic bag would. Lots of good technique tips in this video tho!
Great job on this video!! I would buy your paint now in a heartbeat! Thank you for the education and demonstrations😊♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ You are truly an AMAZING Person❣️
I own my own painting business and these are great tips . i ve not had the pleasure of using their paints yet but hope to very soon . our local Lowes has it in stock now finally . i just want to know where to buy the brushes and rollers from .. I absolutely love Joanna and chip they are why i started my own business ..
I love that you named the paint color after Ella. I bet she loved that. Thank you so much for the tips Joanna. Looking forward to getting some of your chaulk paint. 💖 and love the background music.
I've been following you for years. Love all that you and Chip do. Was shocked to see this video pop up. Had to listen to it and learn some impressive and noteworthy stuff. Can't wait to buy your paint. I read a few comments about the music. I thought it was great. Went back a second time to listen. These 66 yr old ears that don't hear like they used to had no problem and really enjoyed the whole video and learned quite a bit of useful tidbits. Thank you so much.
This was so fascinating. Thank you for sharing the Ideas on painting and decorating. We just decided To move and these idea will help me with pulling my old furniture together. You are good. Margaret
Love this whole informative instructional tips on paint and various products and tools. Some I already knew and use in my years of decor painting on my building projects. The more you know the better the finish product becomes and you’ll enjoy it for years come until a color change…lol. Thanks Joanne G for all your inspiration over the years.
Thank you for persevering and for sharing your experience. You are an encouragement. I wish you all good things. I like the picture that walking toward weight loss paints.
For the chair: just flip it over and paint the bottom first. Paint tray liner. Do not throw away after one use. Either rinse it out in a sink or use up all of the paint on the liner and let it dry. I have reused same liner 10 to 15 times. You just build up layers of dried paint no issues.
I tried that plastic bag liner and it was a fail because the bag kept sticking to the roller and didn't let it roll well in the tray. What doesn't get washed out of the tray and has dried won't mix with a different color. My trays are well layered
But then you have to wait for the paint to dry before you stand the chair upright and paint the rest of the chair. The nail method allows for no wait time to dry in order to all for the whole chair to be painted all at once.
@@deborahrosenow7131 You do not paint the actual flat bottom of the chair legs...flip it over paint the bottom 8 inches..flip it immediately back over and continue painting. Why would you paint the actual bottom of the chair that no one sees and will get scuffed up anyway ?
I love u and have missed seeing your tv programs. I was surprised to see that you have added more work to your schedule. I pray that your family isn t missing your presence..God Bless you❤️

I used to paint interior walls. Tried Magnolia paint and it’s the bomb. Absolutely loved it. Great coverage. True colors. I just painted my house and used throughout my house.
You can also use cling film or glad wrap to wrap the paint brushes. I also find very lightly wetting the roller brush means it absorbs the paint better than dry.
My name is Una from Saudi Arabia, and I follow you on all your social media accounts. I like your work in interior design. I hope to be like you. You and your husband are very cute.

Happy to see you suggest those same tips, because people were telling me I was wrong in using some of them :) :) :) Now, I have you as a reference point :) And by the way, YOU ARE AWESOME
My fam thought I was crazy - I used grocery bags to keep my brushes wet & ready, and as liners too - now like you, I can say Joanna does it. Lol. Great to feel like we all thought of a hack that she uses. I feel vindicated now. 😀
Make sure your paintbrush is fairly loaded before ‘storing’. I have had brush bases rust doing this. The resin trick was eye-opening! I have to test paint on the wall…peel and stick is OK for narrowing down choices. I always recant paint into a new, clean container/paint can when I use 1/2 can or more. These were excellent tips!👏🏻
Thanks for sharing these and also your paint This is the first I've heard of it and I'm getting ready to paint a new place. So I'm excited I'm going to start investing in your products. Hello, now I've found your video and of course I subscribed immediately :-) I watch every episode of your series Fixer upper. It's great what you make out of old, run-down houses. You're a wonderful family and your sweet children are like that sweet. I often have to laugh about Chip and his jokes :-) Greetings from Germany
Those "can spouts" are less than a dollar. I always have several on hand. That grocery bag tip to store your paint brush for a bit works wonderfully too.
Great presentation, Joanna. I was delighted to hear you've added a chalk paint line. I love this paint and used it for my kitchen cabinets. They looked so great after a light sanding and the painted surface has held up very well over several years. The warm vinegar trick is a new one for me and I can't wait to try it - thanks! (Hope this isn't too forward but the music in videos is distracting, particularly when it's too loud and overly repetitive as it is in this vid, otherwise, I really appreciate the info you've shared and have saved it to my favorites list)

I agree and this happens in many other people's blog best kept only hen they are not actually speaking..but everything on today show. Extremely helpful.
Something that I’d like to suggest is taking a paneling or thin nail and making a couple of holes in the edge of the paint can before painting. I do this and it allows any paint that falls into this area to drip back into the can.

It would be better if it was not so loud. It would seem weird without some music.
For older people with some hearing loss, it very frustrating. For us the music is so loud that we have trouble hearing the voice.
