By the time I found out and contacted her she already sold all of them to a local record store at I'm sure a discount. In the future I know now to take my time. Let It Bleed is definitely a great album and one of the reasons is Nicky Hopkins on piano without a doubt one of the best piano players
I agree 66 to 75 are the ground breaking years of popular rock and roll music.Great picks I would do it slightly different but I can definitely agree those are all essentials.
Excellent selections! As you said, they are your opinion so none are wrong. I lean more toward the 1967 debut album "Are You Experienced" for the Jimi Hendrix selection (My personal favorite is "Axis: Bold as Love"). As far as core classic rock it includes "Purple Haze", "Foxy Lady", Hey Joe", "The Wind Cries Mary" and "Manic Depression". Talk about colorful influential sonic canvases. Rock on Dillon!

Wow ! Really in-depth insight here! I’ve heard people talk about these albums, but you take it to another level. You really know your stuff! 👏🏼👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼
Great lineup. I would agree on a majority of these albums. I personally would add one album that personally affected me. Days of future passed moody blues. It blew me away how every part of the day lines up perfectly with the music
Nice list man. Personally i would change Paranoid for Masters of Reality, Zep II for Physical Graffitti, Electric Ladyland for Axis Bold as Love. Throw in Montrose by Montrose, Night at the Opera by Queen , Machine Head by Deep Purple , Quadrophenia by the Who, Johnny the Fox by Thin Lizzy amongst many others but music is subjective, we love what we love, the world would be a duller place if we all thought the same way.
Agree, I've just compared In Rock with Paranoid Sabbath by listening both albums...apparently In Rock much heavier, faster & have raw sound than Paranoid, so I think DP have more influence to European metal than BS
Ahh, like a breadth of fresh air, lol! No ultra obscure, impossible to find, uber expensive, out of reach titles to be had here in this video (as long as you stick to regular ol' domestic pressings/reissues etc.! ;-) )100% with ya on the Sabbath pick. Love it.
Great list Dylan. I have 8 of the 10 and some of the honorable mentions. Have plans to buy the King Crimson. I agree with the Pink Floyd choice, Wish would be my 1st choice the Animals. Keep it coming.
I know you said up to 1975, but when taking about classic rock you have to go to at least 1976, and mention Boston’s 1976 debut. Fantastic dual guitars, a pulsing rhythm section and of course the soaring vocals of Brad Delp - one of the greatest voices ever. Not a single bad song on the entire album. “Something About You” is one of the greatest songs ever laid to tape.
I am 65 yrs old and we agree on most of your list. I would have put "In The Court Of The Crimson King" higher on the list and would have left off Bowie. I never considered Bowie and later punk to be classic rock. There were too many great bands and albums that should have that spot. I definitely agree that the cut off on ground breaking classic rock was 1975. I turned my radio off during the disco crap and focused on my albums I had collected from the mid 60's to the early 70's.
I used to think Dark Side of the moon was the best Pink Floyd Album. Over time I have learned to Love Meddle. It will always be my favorite Pink Floyd album. of course I believe all Pink Floyd albums are fabulous IMHO. Pink Floyd will always be the best ever rock band of all time. Regards from Ody Slim BTW, I was born in 1960 so have had plenty of time to form on opinion.
Top 10 picks are very good. You can do a top 100 and still not include them all. So much to choose. Records n albums n music that came out in late 60’s to mid 70’s are all on top. That period was the best for rock music. Thumbs up! 👍
I' ve got all the top 10 albums also In my collection. The honorable mentions also minus one. Got 3 on MFSL also. But my personal top 10 would look diffentent. I problably would put only The Doors in my top 10.
Great list, some I have to revisit in the near future - only obvious thing missing for me (at least in the honorable mentions section :P ) is some Deep Purple
I dont mind man. Youre very interesting. For example I really think that abbey road is kind of overated but then u give very good reasons for your choice. Btw, I love paranoid's position
Great time span to work to. Good Doors choice. Crimson live were really loud. Heard Starman on a car radio hitch hiking from Turkey to UK in 1972 and was blown away. Sorry like B Sabbaths 1st . Great choices My favourite there The Grateful Dead
Aerosmith "Get Your Wings" or "Toys in the Attic" would have been sweet honorable mentions. Just my opinion. Thanks for the video! - From Charlton, Massachusetts
I’m pretty much with you with most of those. Especially The Doors, Zeppelin and Bowie. I’d have to personally drop a Who album in there and something by Deep Purple as well.
You had me on the edge of my seat the whole time love how you took me on a journey of your picks and why. And your undying respect for the music we all worship five stars to you
Great list! You seem to have so many interesting pressings. I'm interested in learning what slight differences you hear in different pressings. My system is to the point that I can usually detect a digital source, but in doing an A/B of different analog pressings of Aja or whatever I have a hard time really telling the differences.
About Black Sabbath. They are all the best IMHO. I agree with you on this choice. Then Master of reality, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath & Master of Reality es Number 4. They are all awesome. Regards from Ody Slim
this man is the bob ross of vinyl
I take that as a high compliment!

Wow ! Really in-depth insight here! I’ve heard people talk about these albums, but you take it to another level. You really know your stuff! 👏🏼👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼
Thanks so much! I try!
Great lineup. I would agree on a majority of these albums. I personally would add one album that personally affected me. Days of future passed moody blues. It blew me away how every part of the day lines up perfectly with the music
Thanks for watching!
Agree. Underrated for sure.
Can't argue with any of that, right period great top 10 pick; Hats off to you!
Thanks man!
I agree, I love dark side, but WYWH is still my favorite, shine on you crazy diamond is one of the greatest opening tracks I’ve ever listened to
I'm fan of deep purple and the doors and blue cheer and and Iron Butterfly and and rush and motor head .
IMO
pink Floyd
1) animals
2) wish you were here
3) the wall
4) meddler
5) dsotm
Zep
1) 2
2) PG
3) 4
4) HOH
5) 3
Stones
1) let it bleed
2 ) BB
3) exile
4) sticky
5) goat
Deep Purple in Rock
Yep... It's Impossible made a "classic rock list" without Deep Purple... and maybe some Uriah Heep IMO
and Deep Purple did'nt even get honorable mention, what a shame
Agree, I've just compared In Rock with Paranoid Sabbath by listening both albums...apparently In Rock much heavier, faster & have raw sound than Paranoid, so I think DP have more influence to European metal than BS
Great list. Some other honorable mentions: Stooges Debut Album, Aerosmith Toys In the Attic, Lynyrd Skynyrd Debut Album, and The Who Who’s Next
Agreed, Let It Bleed is the best Rolling Stones album.
Great video, hard to choose just 10.
Great list...I am lucky to have all the lp's in your top 10 and most of your honorable mentions
Love it.
Solid. Dig the honorable mentions. Especially the Rush & Creedence. Respect ✊
Great list! Love that you have Wish you were here #2 and Led Zeppelin II #1!
Led Zeppelin II = All thrill, no fill! 🤘
Great list Dylan. I have 8 of the 10 and some of the honorable mentions. Have plans to buy the King Crimson. I agree with the Pink Floyd choice, Wish would be my 1st choice the Animals. Keep it coming.
Great taste. Agree that WYWH is better than DSOTM. Animals is better too.
Have you done a video on the differences of original presses, Japanese presses, original master pressing etc...
Excellent delivery.
Great Top Ten & Honorable Mentions. All Fantastic Albums. :-)
Regards from Ody Slim
BTW, I was born in 1960 so have had plenty of time to form on opinion.
Abraxas!!! Excellent album ! I have it on Reel to Reel if you’re interested! Let me know.
Top 10 picks are very good. You can do a top 100 and still not include them all. So much to choose. Records n albums n music that came out in late 60’s to mid 70’s are all on top. That period was the best for rock music. Thumbs up! 👍
Yes! Very good point! Thanks for watching!
I' ve got all the top 10 albums also In my collection. The honorable mentions also minus one. Got 3 on MFSL also. But my personal top 10 would look diffentent. I problably would put only The Doors in my top 10.
Like your taste! Can’t help missing Deep purple and Lynyrd skynyrd.
Great list, some I have to revisit in the near future - only obvious thing missing for me (at least in the honorable mentions section :P ) is some Deep Purple
Yeah I was on the fence about machine head
Dude i love your ranking videos. Could you do more please?
Yeah I’m trying! It’s hard to do it without pissing people off, but that’s part of the fun 🤣
I dont mind man. Youre very interesting. For example I really think that abbey road is kind of overated but then u give very good reasons for your choice. Btw, I love paranoid's position
Agree, would love to see a "Roots of Hard Rock" album ranking...
Great time span to work to. Good Doors choice. Crimson live were really loud. Heard Starman on a car radio hitch hiking from Turkey to UK in 1972 and was blown away. Sorry like B Sabbaths 1st . Great choices My favourite there The Grateful Dead
glad to see Abraxas on the list but why no Machine Head by Deep Purple?
Aerosmith "Get Your Wings" or "Toys in the Attic" would have been sweet honorable mentions. Just my opinion. Thanks for the video! - From Charlton, Massachusetts
Awesome Video
Loved every minute of this. Solid list. Though my heart broke just a bit when Abraxas didn’t make the top 10. (The honorable mention made up for it.)
1971 was the best, hands down, year in classic rock history PERIOD!
One incredible record that is top of my list...highway robbery -for love or money, such an amazing under rated record 1972
I’m pretty much with you with most of those. Especially The Doors, Zeppelin and Bowie. I’d have to personally drop a Who album in there and something by Deep Purple as well.
Boston Boston every song on the album is a good and like "More Than a Feeliing" to me is the greatest rock song ever
T-Rex Electric Warrior would be high on my list.
You had me on the edge of my seat the whole time love how you took me on a journey of your picks and why. And your undying respect for the music we all worship five stars to you
Thank you!
Great list! You seem to have so many interesting pressings. I'm interested in learning what slight differences you hear in different pressings. My system is to the point that I can usually detect a digital source, but in doing an A/B of different analog pressings of Aja or whatever I have a hard time really telling the differences.
Thank you!
About Black Sabbath. They are all the best IMHO. I agree with you on this choice. Then Master of reality,
Sabbath Bloody Sabbath & Master of Reality es Number 4. They are all awesome. Regards from Ody Slim
Would love to see your bob Dylan collection. See some bootleg series in the back!
It’s not all that impressive. Maybe I will though
Noble Records awesome. Hope you do! Love the Channel! Keep up the good work!
Totally agree with your choices, all great albums and I own them all. Surprised you didn’t have the original Electric Ladyland cover though
Roys blues, live stock.... Roy Buchanan
