Really helpful information! Too often we get the question of needing the same carrier as your cell phone. Hopefully this clears some things up for folks!
From my preliminary research on trail cams, it appears most manufacturers offer there own subscription plans that are very reasonably priced with less concerns than what is explained here. Am I missing something?
Thought i got a good deal now i gotta pay more than my cell phone just to use the thing🤦🏻♂️ man i wish i would have known about these plans i would have got an old school cam
mmm? so when I tried to set up my exodus cell cams last fall... I was forced (so I thought) to use only Verizon which does not have good coverage like my AT&T... So I'm assuming something has changed since last fall where I can now use AT&T? correct?
@@camthecameraman5096 wait, and bare with me as I'm that old school guy that just made the switch from a flip phone... anyway, so I still can not use AT&T if I reactivate my Render?...and my only hope is that Verizon eventually gets better coverage?..I must of misunderstood Chad in that that users are now flexible irregardless of the camera set up....
@@jimreed3904 Correct, The Exodus Render needs Verizon Coverage to function properly. The message in the video is that if You have an AT&T cell phone and and pay AT&T for your cell phone, that doesn't effect the cell camera you purchase. The Render is only certified through Verizon so you need Verizon coverage for it to work. The. misconception is that the cell phone carrier needs to be the same as the cell camera you purchase. People think that if they have an AT&T phone, a Verizon cell camera won't send them pictures. It will as long as you have Verizon Coverage or whatever coverage the camera is certified for.
@@jimreed3904 What chad is saying about it being Carrier Driven is this: Say you're between an AT&T certified camera, and a Verizon one. The one that is right for you is not necessarily the one that you have a phone plan through. its the one with the best coverage where you're putting the camera. If the Render was available in AT&T (Which its not) the AT&T version would be better for you because you have better signal there.
Hey Denny, that is a pass through from Verizon. Verizon charges SCOUTEK $7 per camera to have the cameras on their services. Exodus doesn’t handle the Data plans. It’s all done through SCOUTEK
Yelp I'm Developing one Now That has built in camera Mounts to The Tree Just Like A Cellular Trail Cam. When it spots a deer it sends Notification to your cell phone gives you live feed and asks you if you want to kill or let walk. Push the kill button or walk button. Perfect resource for anyone trying to learn about cell camera data plans and if they can use a camera that isn't the same as their cell phone carrier.
This video should have a bazillion likes.
So should this comment! Thank you

You don’t say? Been waiting for a sprint cell camera to come out because I have sprint. Guess I don’t have to wait anymore
Had Sprint for years. They should be indicted for impersonated a cell phone company.
Will this work in Jamaica?
I had the same question but in Central America

The Render is only a Verizon certified device. If the Render was offered in AT&T you would be correct.
