  • This video tries to explain how I fixed the two issues I had with my De'Longhi Autentica Cappucino ETAM 29.660.SB Bean-to-Cup Coffee Maker or simply a Delonghi Autentica ETAM 29.660.SB and it might help if you have similar issues with your coffee machine.
We purchased this coffee machine in December 2017, I thought we purchased it in 2019. Because we prefer the milk based coffee drinks, usually a flat white; we stopped using the machine during the covid. At the time, we were in lockeddown and we did not want to be venturing in the shops unless we had to.
For that reason we started using a new Easy Timer Electric Coffee Maker made by Bialetti and we kind of forgot about the Delonghi Autentica ETAM 29.660.SB.
Last month, that was September 2023; we realised that we should start using the Delonghi coffee machine. Sadly, the problems started within the first two weeks. First the machine was not pumping very well the milk until it stopped pumping the milk. You could still make coffee and pump the water, so the first thing I tried was descaling the device,. However, it did not fix the issue.
I started looking on the internet how to solve the issue. It seems that the Coupling Carafe was the issue, so I purchased a new one. It was bad news because it did not fix the device.
Then I identified a new additional problem, the display of the coffee machine started showing this message "Heating up please wait...." and nothing else happened.
So I kept reading and watching videos while I was thinking how nice would have been to have a manual to troubleshoot the problem.
Please be careful, there are so many things that could go wrong, the components inside can get very too hot to burn you and you have electricity and water ready to send you to the hospital or even cause your death.
Be gentle with the plastics specially when opening the panels and when placing the screws back in.
As I said in the video, there is a metal ring or clip locking the wheel to a metal rod inside the wheel that filters the coffee beans. Gently you have to expand that ring to release the wheel and remove the top where the beans are stored.
I purchased the pumps since the pump somehow was not pumping milk, but that was not my problem.
Please note the pumps are not the same model, they are two different pumps, possibly they requirements for pumping milk and water with coffee are different. I do not know, but you should know that if you order them; they are different.
Not all models of coffee machines are the same, obviously if you have a similar machine is very possible that you have similar parts including two different pumps like my coffee machine. It is a good idea to ask the vendors for advice. I actually removed my pumps and looked at their numbers before I ordered them.
Make sure to purchase or fit in new seals or relocate the old O rings from the old pumps to the new pumps otherwise you will learn like me with loads of water running around the electric components. I almost kill the whole coffee machine and possibly I risked my life with this stupid mistake.
Because new pumps did not fix the issue, I purchased the heating element and one of the Delonghi Tco Irt (I think it is a just a thermostat), but that did not fix it.
So I purchased two more Delonghi Tco Irt to rule out that the issue was not the Tco Irt (I had replaced only one) and this time that fixed the issue.
I purchased the parts from here www.4delonghi....
When I recorded the video I tested that the coffee machine was repaired using water instead of milk. I still needed to fit in and screew in the side panels and other parts to the coffee machine, I did not have the correct cup for the coffee so I had to go to the other room while recording the video in the room.
I must confessed, in my opinion; this device is very complex. I had no clue of what I was doing, but I thought, how hard can it be?
It was not a walk in the park, I had no idea of how to fix it and I hoped that replacing parts I would fix the fault. That worked for me this time, these devices are very "labyrinthine" for someone without knowledge nor experience like me; but when they work, it is nice to enjoy a great coffee.
I hope my experience helps you if you have similar faults with your coffee machine.
Thank you for your patience watching some of my video.

Hi Simon, thank you. I hope that works and I look forward to watch your video once you fix your device.
Remember that the thermostat gets very hot so let it cool for 15 minutes or so before you touch it. Also, it is a good idea to take pictures and mark similar cables before you remove the parts.
I hope you get to enjoy your flat whites and cappuccinos very soon. ☕☕☕
