I always find it funny when she walks around so decoratively and then looks at the whole thing with great interest, especially at flower parks :-) such scenes are classics :-)

@Enby Agender: Do you know why I have listened to the double fugue in the final part of O Come All ye faithful? Because Diane goes very very faster on the 5th keyboard and then she goes down to the 2nd keyboard. When her right hand is so faster, I have listened to the double fugue.
@Enby Agender: if you have said to me that there's been no fugue, I haven't complained anybody, I have only clarified my conceptions.
Have a good night and Happy New Year.

I would love to get on the organ bench after Diane and play this big beautiful pipe organ. There are many stops, pedals and keyboards to work with and I would certainly want to try out all of them while making beautiful music.

I am very fortunate to have been to this Church on 3 occasions. Early on when visiting my dad in Mooresborro NC. and the organ was new, and planned a tour with Dan Miller who was organist at the time. I was able to play it while he left to give piano lessons. I ended up playing for a couple church 'tours' that day which was totally unexpected!
Then made another trip down from my home here in MA. to see Hector Olivera play his touring Yamaha organ (designed by him) AND the grand Moller... The most impressive thing he did was to end his performance with Sir William Walton's 'Crown Imperial' ! First playing the orchestral score as he does so well on the Yamaha, then letting it play on it's own, while running over to the grand organ and playing a wonderful arrangement with a most powerful conclusion!
Even with JBL speakers and subwoofers going and all that other pro audio gear, the Moller over powered the electronics, it was unbelievable !!! That organ can deliver incredible sound pressure levels! The sound of 3 separate en' chamade reeds in as many locations (left - center - right) is almost overhelming! The facade is made of TWO 32' pedal stops...It doesn't look it because the space is so large. I believe there is seating for 6000 !
I also believe it is still the ONLY instrument with a FULL LENGTH 16' horizontal reed! As a pipe organ tech working for a local builder for nearly 30 years, I am STILL impressed (O:

This is probably Moller's best instrument. I live where they were located. They did build some that were not so good. Unfortunately, they did themselves in.

I heard her in concert a few years ago. Like Virgil Fox, she plays to the masses, all of whom are not sophisticated musicians. Nothing wrong with that. In a recent organist guild members Christmas concert, everything was traditional and classical but one of my pieces was the popular song It's Christmas in New York and I got the most compliments on that.

You're right. You have no right to criticize Ms. Bish for the age or quality of the upload. She didn't do it. And it is likely she was working with the best technology available at the time. Where do I send your lump of coal? Ho ho ho ...

I think the master tape was copied several times over in the day, and the poster just had a crappy 5th gen copy or something. You just turned everything around and yelled @ me for no reason. Idiot.

I live where they were built and play one every Sunday. Some were good and others were not. Most in town are Mollers but the 58 rank Schantz that replaced a bad Moller is in my opinion is the best in town. Sadly, the company did themselves in. The old factory still stands being renovated.

Simon Catt , you are too impressed with yourself. God has ways of dealing with His children so full of false pride. A good dose of humility could be in the offing for you. We are given gifts for a reason-to be shared for the good of all, not to be spent on self-aggrandizement.

Come, come Dear SimonWithTheInflatedSenseOfHisMusicalTalentEtc.......So, you are now ascendant over Diane Bish. That is so interesting to hear, but wait......I have a problem with your newly acquired higher than Bish ranking in the hierarchy of talented organists. That problem is this......do you have a long and varied history of recording world-class organ music all over the face of the planet on the renowned pipe organs of the world? Do you have a demonstrated history of advancing the study of classical organ to all peoples of the world regardless of class or position? Do you have a lifetime of encouraging aspiring young organists all over the planet to pursue their talents to the utmost? Do you have the face recognition and love and adoration that Diane Bish has all over the planet? Do you have on your resume the following achievements: Produced a TV program (Joy Of Music) since 1982 that involves endless hours of prep, work, editing, fundraising so that the world of organ lovers may have a heritage to refer back to when she is no longer here......Designed an entire organ series for the Allen Organ Company.......Authored several books about interpreting/playing of organ music......Is still at the age of 77 still producing the Joy Of Music videos while surmounting the endless difficulties of gaining entrance to cathedrals, travel thereto, hauling equipment and technicians to such sites and the list goes on and on.
So let me give you this advice.......when you have achieved a fraction of what Diane Bish has achieved, then call me back and we can discuss your "status" among organists of the world. And, I am NOT holding my breath as well.

Oh, this is dreadful - it's conceited meanderings on hymn tunes. I'd improvise something similar to these corny reharmonised hymns when the offertory went on longer than expected, and I needed a bit of infilling to cover a gap in a Mass. I would have expected something substantially better from Diane Bish.
