Blade Counter and Reversal Slash are both very nice in certain matchups, but I feel like Power Thrust patches up way too many holes in MSF’s kit to give up. Their smash attacks are pretty mediocre, so having a strong, active, killing burst option with true confirms is so ridiculously useful. I’ll also say, I find aerial Power Thrust edgeguards more consistent when you jump backwards and use it towards the ledge instead of trying to go away from ledge and hit the opponent. This helps protects you from reverse edgeguards a bit better and is a lot easier to time, since you just need to wait until the opponent gets to the ledge.
Blade Counter. invulnerable frame 4, active frame 5. while I use power thrust a ton and believe in its benefits I gravitate towards Blade Counter on matchups where the opponents rushdown needs to be challenged. Shiek, Greninja, Pikachu---you would be surprised how effective blade counter is at forcing your opponent to give you room and stop an auto-pilot of combo's. Great work on this vid ScrubbedOut. Take care out there.
Repost if you're a true thruster Also fun fact for anyone interested: Forward air 1 (except for a few characters), Chakram (both slow and fast), down tilt, Nair and of course Shuriken of light can all lead into power thrust
Something I have been experimenting with this down b is using it as a recovery mix-up option. When using it in combination with Stone Scabbard, you can use it as a downward burst before using up b. It is much faster than drifting downward and then recovering.
ive been wanting to get better at swordie, but im blurring blade addict. though i think im willing to give this a shot cuz i like power thrust, didnt know it synergized with shuriken so well so i have to try that
ive been using mii swordfighter as a pocket character but i think i might practice him more. some of these clips are insane like im genuinely so impressed
I have a pocket swordfighter who I exclusively use in tourney only against Mac for some reason (my secondary Gunner is 1111 which isn't as good as swordfighter somehow). Not sure if I like reversing it or thrusting it, because while I'm certain the latter is probably better, Reverse Slash is super funny when it works.
I solo main Samus in Locals Tournys. Idk if I'd pocket main Mii Sword fighter just because of how far ahead my Samus is over my actual fundamentals. Like, I'm hard carried by Samus's bombs and charge shots granting me a free neutral. But I've still won 1st place at a local at least once playing solo Samus only.
I run airborne assault and pthrust for maximum "fuck it we ball"
SO REAL! i run iarborn assault, pthrust, and stone scabbard for ultimate schmoveset

I was thinking about picking up Mii Swordfighter as a secondary and your videos definitely helped!

Yoo we got a video.
Side note I completely forgot it can KO. For some reason, I only thought of it as a burst option and nothing more.
It's great seeing that in the modern meta more than one Mii SF moveset is viable now!
These amazing videos are so helpful for me learning to main mii swordie!!! (Also congrats on 500 subs!)
this move is insane, i dropped a sub 🤯

But what about the counterattack in the competitive? XD
I really wish Mii swordfighter had just a little more kill power/ more consistent kill confirms, I think otherwise he is very decent character
I wish the sword was longer. (pause)
He has very consistent kill confirms actually. That's like his whole strength
Very helpful video

angled thrust and into shield is more situational and generally riskier, i rarely use but it can be sometimes useful if a situation pops up mid match
ive been running 1223 since the beginning and have never changed it, this is the best
me using counter: "Hehe early kill."
I like running the link up B and doing drag down fair to up B!

thrust and stab is super flexible
Ill stick with the reflector
That's me
tornado better than shiruken because it controls more situations and leads into a lot of combos.
Shuriken just better in neutral.
Mii players r not real lmao
You can hide all you want John but one day you will have to play a Mii Swordfighter in bracket
Whats? WHAT'S HAPP-
There’s over 80 characters to choose from, can someone tell me why people use the miis?😂
Because they're iconic, fun, have great movesets and to piss off the haters. 😎😎😎
Because out of those 80 characters there are also some that the miis peform better than those said fighters? Isabelle, DK, and many others exist
What’s wrong with using miis? 💀
You would probably say this for the whole roster below B tier.
Because Sakurai didn't let Rex into Smash
