GasGas GP 300 2018 Starter Issues - Bendix Cover Problem solved

Using an old starter armature we found out that on this GP 300 the starter gears were hard to turn. When we loosened the three bolts of the cover the starter gears were suddenly easy to turn. We thought the bendix cover applied pressure to the pinion gear and bendix and installed a second bendix cover gasket but that did not change anything.
We then tried a high quality cover from AS3 and with the bolts tightened correctly the armature was easy to turn. We think the OEM cover pushes the pinion gear out of its alignment causing the gears to stick.
