      Your 1 x 6 was done 'waddle and daub' style - the Neolithic building technology - can you use sticks from the creek valley along the bottom rows? Collect a 'faggot'* or two so have some on hand.
      (* ancient old English word for a bundle of sticks)

    A screw identifies as a nail. Can you actually say that these days! LOL As for the dogs, run a hot poly wire where the can get shocked and from then on you don't even need to electrify it. Especially when they can't jump over it because of your other fence

    What's to keep the dogs from going thru the big hole above the board??

      Probably nothing, but they typically go through at ground level and don’t like climbing over and through at the same time. I’ll keep an eye on them and see what they do.
