you,
have a LOT of free time
Jesse Pinkman The Beatles- I saw here standing there... wow
you are the unsung hero of this world
But respect
Not all heroes wear capes.
Both of the 100 Bass Line videos are amazing. On a side note, they prove four things to me:
1. Flea has enough bass slapping to fill one of these videos by himself.
2. I've never heard Jamiroquai's music before, but the bassist is clearly talented.
3. You have a wide appreciation of music in general. Everything from pop to funk to classic rock to oldies to metal.
4. You are a bass virtuoso. You've proved yourself time and time again to be a fantastic musician. Keep slapping da bass!
Born after 1999, I see
TheGr8one1022 ok boomer
@LHC first three albums I'd say
Jamiroquai is a MUST for bassist. Almost like listening to Jaco Pastorius
Tyler Larsen quite a shame he only makes meme videos now, it had been a while sinceiblas saw him play
With these riffs and a time machine, I can rule the world.
Beom Sun CHUNG please clarify.
Cyberdemon 76 He means that if he were to travel back in time and play all these bass lines before they were invented people would think he’s a bass god
Bass music would become the basis for a religion
I thought only I thought of such things about music.
100 More Amazing Bass Lines played in a row! :P What's your favorite one? Let me know!
Don't forget to leave a like and share if you enjoyed this video, it would mean a lot to me!
Stay Funky :D
+Davie504 keep up the good work man
+Davie504 Thank you so much dude, it's thanks to the previous 100 Amazing bass lines video that i decided to start playing bass a year ago ;) Keep this up you're awesome!
Run For cover, Marcus is my favorit bassist ;)
+Davie504 Anything from Muse is a great bass line. Just check Hysteria, Helsinki Jam, Exo-politics, Reapers, Time is running out, Darkshines, New born, Sunburn, etc...
+Davie504 As a RHCP fan I'm pretty sure you know that Crazy Towns "Butterfly" was a copy of RHCP's "Pretty Little Diddy", but besides that, GREAT vid! loved every bit of it.
Can we all agree that there could be an entire top 100 bass lines of just RHCP
Praise be to Flea, the God of bass
Praise also be to Davie, Flea’s son of bass
@@benshaw221 lmao
Works also with Chic
We can also that would happen with primus too
@@stevestevenson370 You are both correct!
Very impressive, but can you play Rush in rush hour traffic?
I really want to see this
YYZ in Toronto Pearson Airport
Fusion yes please
You want davie to.get hit by a damn car?
The Trees in a forest...
The most amazing fact is that he memorizes all these lines and play all off them one after another. Congratulations!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
It’s sorta more like learning one really long song rather than playing a bunch of things in a row
It is impressive to see him play them all as a medley with one take. But it’s not about memorizing the bass lines. Your hands learn to play things, you don’t think about it. Anyway, I’m sure he’s got a set list he’s looking at lol
@@zacknicley8150 tbh i think he's playing whatever song is closest to the chord/note hes playing or whatever comes to mind next and then numbering and naming them in post. He would still have an idea of what comes next i think though. Doesnt make it any less impressive though. Edit: or he has edited the songs list or made the drum track as a memory jog.
Université DEUG level.
Look where he places his hand and you'll understand how he does it
FUCKING SEINFELD WAS MASHED IN SO WELL I WASN'T EXPECTING IT OMFG
Pippa Soo I love your profile pic. rocky horror for life!
Pippa Soo In one of the first songs I thought that it was a similar bass sound and joked to myself about it being in there - Boom, there it was.
Very stealthy indeed..
Davie is a real bass player in that he can play any genre of music and do it with the same passion.
he's actually a monster, lmao
"Crazy Town - butterfly" is in fact "pretty little ditty- RHCP" bass and guitar lines with rap lyric's from crazy town, so it's another RHCP bass line.
yes its good that someone explained it
First, I wanted to say thank you for this, and for part 1. My daughter is learning guitar, ukulele and, at school, cello. She was talking about a new instrument and I was like, "why not bass guitar." She was like, "why?" Now, I don't play bass but as a drummer I have mad respect for it, but I couldn't play a bit to show her how cool it is. Then I stumbled onto this video. Perfect example of how awesome bass can be. Second, I was pleased to see some more Claypool/Primus and also Iron Maiden in this video, but I was also pleased at just how many different genres you covered. From Tool to Elvis. Nice. Finally, you skills are top notch, but you already knew that.
hope the video helped ;)
Trail Seeker one instrument is enough, intensely playing one instrument is better than playing many instruments a bit.
BluntedRly The guitar was her original instrument and what she wanted to play the most. The Ukulele was recommended by her guitar teacher because she so small and she was having some trouble with the guitar's size. The Cello is for school because they don't have guitar in their orchestra. We don't MAKE her play any, except she does need some gentle urging to practice.
I'm not criticizing you, I'm just telling my opinion and my experience btw :)
But the bass is a lot bigger man, so if she's having trouble with guitar, it will be harder with a bass
The Muse riffs 👌🏽 Chris would be proud.
+paradoxical Now we just need Futurism!
***** Go back to part one.
Hysteria was in the First video
+paradoxical No he wouldn't ha- Davie used the subpar verse riff for Psycho, and not the main one.
The bass on the Handler is also pretty good
Hey, in the first song (Green Day), he's using a picc. That's illegal!
Im pretty sure mike dirnt uses a pick anyways
He isn't, he's using his finger
Using his finger smh
I'm calling the police!
Not epicc
Hey Davey I've been playing for 25 years and put the bass down about two years ago and when I found your Channel it inspired me to start playing again and not only playing but learn music theory this time around. I've always played by ear
Your memorization skills are over 9000 I'm jealous xD
it has a lot to do with practice
+Savannah Johnson and muscle memory :P
he clearly hes visual aids at his feet....
over 9,000 joke in 2016
this guy prefered the old school memes
I love the transitions between the songs
Yea
OH MY GOD... YOU USE THE EXACT SAME PROFILE PICTURE, not youtube of course
+jack murray wow oh my god that is so cool wowwwww😑😑😑😑
+Meliodas Jara Well aren't you just an a-hole
Some of my personal favorite bass lines that didn't show up in either video:
- Talking Heads - "Psycho Killer"
- Deee-Lite - "Groove Is in the Heart"
- CCR - "Down on the Corner"
- Red Hot Chili Peppers - "Dark Necessities"
- Queen - "Dragon Attack"
- Tower of Power - "What is Hip?"
- AFI - "Miss Murder"
dark necessities is such an amazing song!
But Dark Necessities didn't exist when this video came out
loverboy's "turn me loose" is missing too!
Pixies Gouge Away
The Breeders Canonball
@@jmi4754 Cannonball is such a great song...the amount of guitar string bending for it is insane though. If it's not done using a whammy bar it will definitely give you blisters on your fingers trying to play it without one
Edit: Nvm it was apparently done with a finger slide going up and down on the fretboard...not quite as brutal on the fingers as I originally thought. Watched a different vid of them playing it live back in 93 ;)
You are absolutely awesome... I love that you picked EVERYONE'S favorites, all genres!
Needs more Rush
Geddy Lee is an amazing bass player!
One of the best
+Clayton Hamilton I ditto that ! and it also needs more Marcus miller and more Wooten
+Eli Anci exactly, more soloist!
+Zebesian Creature Yeah but it looks like he isn't into progressive rock, or classic rock in general really. I'm guessing he's into funk more than anything else.
Say "Geddy Lee"... 'Who's Geddy Lee"?... "Best bass player ever come on!" :o
That RHCP slapping tho. Could i call you god, my master?
Although Jerry was a Race Car Driver is probably my favorite from this list, I want to say that I really appreciate that you represent Jamiroquai so much in both videos, as I think they are a very overlooked band who had great bass lines.
So true man, they are not recognized as much than before, and that makes me a little bit sad because they're my favourite band
Glad Davie notices the amazing music they make
Not gunna lie I feel like you need to do some more videos like this¡!¡ love listening to you play when you add your own lil spin onto the songs you play... heck even full covers of songs again would be shmick¡!¡ 🧡
Wow, I wonder how many hours it takes to make such a video, from the moment when you begin to work on the bass lines from the moment when you publish the video, counting the time passed to programm the drums, film and edit ? Congrats for this great job!
+FIXXTHE It took months!
+Davie504 Please make more, I LOVE your videos. especially these.
P:S if you make another, please put some Journey in there. thanks!
+S Kirkpatrick Journeys bassist sucks
Ross Valory is amazing, better than you anyway.
S Kirkpatrick
IM sure a goddamn sack of potato's falling on a p bass would play better than ross valory
You have so meny RHCP songs in this video but you still credited Pretty Little Ditty as Crazy Towns Butterfly
yes! xD
I thought i was just me... thx unknown person
I was gonna say the same thing!!!
Awesome compilation! You are truly a master of your prefession
Your jazz bass tone here is killer Davie
Slap's a real art form. You've nailed it.
mimoocho dom I can't slap for shit I suck at it
mimoocho dom stfu
Andrew Zataray why
Slap is doable, you just have to 'not' quit. One thing I learned about it, you don't get better at it by not doing it.
T_Traanmer in some videos he does, but he definitely plays it at some point
FINALLY LONGVIEW IS ON HERE !!!!
Hi
MY FAVORITE BAND
+Tommy Peck I mean green day is the band. my favorite "song" is long view. and green day is my favorite band
Tommy Peck True true
nice bro. I have been waiting for this
Amazing Mate. Thanks for posting.
pretty sure this dude's favourite artist is jamiroquai.
Tyestor and rhcp
Tyestor Jamiroquai have some awesome bass Lines so it's normal .
Can you blame him Jamiroquai is awesome!
Nah, is just that Jamiroquai have an awsome bassline on every single track. But I cant belive that he hasnt included "Walk on the wild side" and I Want You (she's so heavy)
Tyestor Man listen to it at 2:06 and tell me Stuart zender is not a very great bass Man . ruclips.net/video/0QcWIj9zx-Q/видео.html
Tame Impala: The less i know the better
tame impala is great!
Currents
Unknown mortal orchestra anybody?
Epic, truly epic. Bravo!
One of your best video ever & one of my most fav video.thanks for this.really enjoyable.
Forty-Six & 2 - Tool
Every Tool song
OPHIЯ true 100% true
Fyrnty I know how to play that song and it basically is just consistent pull offs and hammer ons. maybe a harder song for him
It's not that bad, he played it here.
I cant tell you how happy this makes me to see...
The dude from SpectreSound Studios must be losing his shit.
lmao
Glen? Ayyy LMAO! xD
+L-MAN Duderino he's the only bass player who's opinion is worth giving a shit
Why xD. I know he hates bass players but why would be he be losing his shit?
he doesnt hate bass players,he hates bass players that dont do shit, never practice and lets their band down.Get your facts right people
My personal fav has to be Iron Maiden's "Wrathchild". Such a powerful way to kick off such a phenomenal song (and for the entire album). Steve Harris is an amazing bassist, and you executed his sound perfectly. Stevie504 is one of the bass greats of our era!
I was waiting for the crunchy SLAPP at the end of the video 😄.
Cool video as usual Davide. Keep on being creative. Slapp on!!!
i was literally waiting for thiss !!!
I was actually gonna say butterfly by crazy town has a respectable bass line and then realized Flea wrote it 11 years prior
ssflipallday makes sense why it’s so good hahaha
Thank you! For including Walking On The Moon as an amazing bass line.
Too many to list for me! Excellent playing Davey!
Would you please put a list of them in the description box? Thank you xd
It's in the video
.
But it is...
The songs are in the video
Myst so you are hunting girls aren't you?
RHCP, Iron Maiden, Tool, and RATM's are my personal favorites in these videos.
I was hugely impressed by your First series, thanks for his follow-up which is just as great.👍
80's groove is the best! Thank you Davie!
Butterfly?! It's pretty little ditty man
+DecompressedBadger
Damn right! RHCP - pretty little ditty
Sacrilege!
+DecompressedBadger very few people know that... :(
What!?! He didn't call it butterlfy, did he? That's messed up
I knew I'd found this comment somewhere around here :)
Can you try 100 worst bass lines?
That would be good to see, go on Davie JUST DO IT!
+DENNYS DELEON Maybe there would be a comment war. What if your favorite become one of the 100 worst?
You are my favourite, most inspirational BASS player I’ve ever seen on screen, can’t wait for a challenge 👋🏼
Great! It's amazing how he remembers all the lines..
Some notable exceptions
cosmic slop - funkadelic
sweet emotion-aerosmith
Get on top - rhcp
Been waiting for this video :D Keep up the awesome work!
+A StealthyGeko Thanks bro!
I've played regular 6 string guitar for 40 years, and never had any problem learning new licks and phrases, but I've struggled with 4 string bass my whole life. Would have been so much easier and not to mention FUN had I been around folks like you who seem to enjoy showing how things are done. Thanks for the tutorial and the inspiration. :) My ear for bass notes sucks, so I have to rely on sight and my knowledge of the songs from learning them on 6 string. Combining the two is how have always progressed, so I just eat up videos like this!
Video stupendo, grandissimo!
Cheers from East Hereford dood!!!
You just made me buying and playing a nice bass guitar.
Simply amazing, keep it up bro!
Amazing! As always :D
Your videos give me the motivation to keep on jammin'
+Deego the Great That was the goal! Thanks for watching dude :P
Thumb up for Maiden!
Steve Harris is one of my absolute favourites and one of my biggest influences, he's one of the best
Andrew Pappas A lot of people rate ol' 'Arry as one of (or the) best Metal bassists of all time (ranked higher than Geezer Butler, by some, due to him being the founder and main member of Maiden)
He could have picked a better line from Number Of The Beast though :/
You added the 3 bassist missing from your first 100 you are Epico again well done my badassbassman504
Great Video. I like to watch them, when I am not playing :)
Green Day's "No One Knows" has a really cool bass intro too!
So does panic song
this guy really likes red hot chili peppers
Most bassists do. Between the two vids he has hit most of the most influential bassists from McCartney, Sting, Jaco, Wooten, Lee, Claypool, Flea, Dirnt, Wolstenholm, Myung, you name it. Although I'm trying to remember, were any of those Carol Kay? If not, she's missing.
wingracer 16 He forgot the best except for this last list. Entwistle.
wingracer 16 Justin??
And Jamiroquai.
That’s because Flea is greatest bassist of all time
Maaan! You play bass so gooood ! More video like this one and smile PLEASEEE ))) I am sure that the people still able to value a real musician)
Some of my favorites bass lines are:
• Sometime World - Wishbone Ash
• Drifter - Iron Maiden
• Havona - Weather Report
• Prodigal Son - Iron Maiden
• Close To Edge (Yessongs) - Yes
• The Real Me - The Who
• 21st Century Schizoid Man - King Crimson
• Bring On The Night - The Police
• Gypsy Eyes - The Jimi Hendrix Experience
• Red Barchetta - Rush
• Under The Bridge - RHCP
• Watcher Of The Skies - Genesis
• Lucky Man - Emerson, Lake & Palmer
my favorite bass line in this one is longview
Aurora Wolf mine is too young to die
i was hoping to find longview somewhere and it was first :D
Same
Same although i was hoping i found more of green day mike is the best :D
I was a little curious why it wasn’t in the first one and was gonna be pissy if it wasn’t in the second one and it turned out to be first lol
Watched part one and was like DAMN WHERES MY GREEN DAY BETTER BE IN PART 2... welp whaddaya know
One of my fave bass lines is Lucretia my reflection by Sisters of Mercy, also the one in the chorus of Closer by NIN and Suck also by NIN. I'm happy that N.I.B by Black Sabbath was included, i love it!
Great job to you and the drums!
Thank you for including both Led-Zeppelin and Rush in this!
Really happy you added in Tommy the Cat lol
THANKS FOR ALL THE BASS!
this is awesome, man. Slap it!!
you can easily make a "best 100 flea basslines" video, everything that man creates is pure awesomeness
Also, John Myung
I agree:) flea's baselines are amazing
+Colin Frink and Geddy Lee. in my opinion he is the best rock player. he don't play at his maximum even on concerts, but there he plays much better than on records (only Working Man proofs that). but he doesn't play slap as well as Flea does
+Colin Frink cant forget les claypool
+alex E and Billy Sheehan
Flea and Les Claypool are my favorite bassists because they helped fill my teenage years. Great work.
Sounds great !! Thanks
i never thought you would include
This time baby - Jackie moore as its soooo underrated but amazing!
Now i love you even more
DAVIE!!! The first one with green day!!! Awesome, I am so happy that you made this video!!!! :D okay, I gotta keep watching/listening to this now!
- Nice video, again
Love the awesome as f**k pic u have man!
Longview was the first Green Day bass line I learned how to play - Mike is #awesomeasfvck
Andrew Pappas Yes, he is ! and thank you Jack O'Reilly , I find it cool, too :D
The new RHCP album has a lot of awesome bass lines.
I love the getaway. As in the whole album
+Ethan Concha it's so great
Go robot ; Dark necessities ; Goodbye Angels
Go Robot would be complicated to play in one bass lol. Imagine what kind of badass could do that? Not even Flea himself
encore, cant stop
Hey Dave I’m from 2020 and I start watching you in early 2016 keep up the good work buddy :)
🤔...
That was pretty cool, haha! I enjoyed that flow of beats, lifted my mood! time and dedication. 10=10 😆👍
Nice to put Darling Dear in there! Of course the first couple of measures give no indication of just how mindblowing that bassline really is.
Needs more The Who! John Entwistle is the best! Also more Jaco Pastorius and Rush
WRATCHILD!! Davey you are such an inspiration for me to pick up my bass again.
I didn't expect O'funkillo in here, this is EPIC!
5 Red Hot Chili Peppers songs. I Love you!
+KevinDr007 you should see the first one theres way more
Alexander Buc I know my friend, I know.. :)
+KevinDr007 Make it 6 if you take into account that #82 Butterfly is the bass line from "Pretty little ditty" on RHCP Mother's Milk album.
jeffinou65 You're right ;)
+KevinDr007 still dont have my favorite from then, funky monks.. that outro its fucking awsome
gotta say that I love longview.
your profile pic ayy MCRmy
+EileenSupernova MCRmy?
+M Jakobsen (Or not.) yeah, what about it
+EileenSupernova What is "MCRmy"?
+M Jakobsen (Or not.) the My Chemical Romance fandom.
Loving davie504 playing covers on bass!!!! Inspired .Addictive….I want to hear more…
Cool bass sound!👍
Loved how you ended with My Generation! Really pleased to see some Entwistle appreciation on here :P
What do you think of a Lemmy Kilmister or David Bowie tribute video?
Tommy The Cat is dope.
PRIMUS SUCKS!!!
The first david504 video I watched! Congrats on your 10M *slap* 👋
All were awesome!
Please do top 100 guitar riffs (on BASS)

Thank you for subing to my channel
Love how you went effortlessly from Iron Maiden into George Benson.
Music without bass is impossible. I love your playing on bass
That is completely untrue. Like completely
Watched the first 100...no Anesthesia. Almost gave up and then comes #93! Bigger fan of the RHCP stuff, but Anesthesia is a bass classic. Then again, all of these are classics. Thanks for putting all these together. A++!
My favorite bass line, by far, is Roundabout by Yes. Both the beginning and the middle have great bass lines :)
Can you do a ''David Bowie Meets Bass'' video? As a little tribute :D
I know how you love the slapp, and I love it, too. But I really love hearing you play fingerstyle. Don’t ever sell that jazz bass. What a delight you are.
Great Job!
I like the added heavy metal lines you put in; Mötorhead, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath. Now you're talkin' my language.
