I've said it before and I'll say it again. Diary of a Madman is one of the greatest rock songs ever written. It's like Randy channeled one of the old masters - Bach, Beethoven - and came up with this hauntingly beautiful song.
Gonna say- The best Randy Rhoads cover I've seen ever. Much respect to the dedication put forth in bringing this masterpiece to a live stage again AND being played as tight to the original as it can get. Yes. Well done.
I stood fifteen feet in front of Randy Rhoads for two and a half hours in 1981; and I swear that I was changed deeply during that concert. I was fourteen yrs old and Motorhead opened the show here in Seattle at the Paramount Theater. None of these performances do any justice to what I saw on that small wooden stage that night.
@@stevemineer2857 Do you know that for certain? Even on the Diary tour? I've always thought that was the most conspicuous absence from Tribute. Additionally, in all the times I've seen Ozzy over the past 30 years, it's never played. I've seen it covered by others, including Metallica (can be found elsewhere on RUclips)
@@sekimotorm I’m not a big Ozzy or Randy fan but from all the research I’ve done it was never played live. Which is weird since the album was named after the song. If you look at the setlist from that tour, they only played 3 songs off the album. None of which were DOAM.
Nuno plays the absolute hell out of this, with a few unique touches pretty tastefully added in... one of my favourite guitarists paying tribute to one of the reasons i ever decided to play the guitar in the first place... fucking EARgasm!!!!!!
Such a killer player! I always thought he is like EVH on steroids... A few years back I did some interviews with him, great guy, very humble! As he said, De Martini and Lynch were huge influences for him.
IMHO - Nuno is by far the most talented musician/guitarist out of any of the players featured in this entire concert. Many of the players are great... some wouldn't make my B list... but Nuno, always does his homework. He always pays proper respect to his idols, in every cover performance he's ever done. EVH, Brian May, Randy, etc... and he always nails it every time. So ready for another Extreme album. PLEASE!!!
Them tunes especially from diary of a madman are extremely complex and layered guitar making them difficult to pull off live, hats off for those that do.
Props to Nuno for celebrating one of the greatest guitar players to ever breath life upon this planet.... R.I.P. Randy Rhoads.... Your gift of music is now and forever eternal.... 🤘
Truly awesome. To be able to play in the style of another guitarist is a special talent and Nuno has that in spades. Hell, even Randy never played this live.
Micheal Schenker was offered the position, but Schenker said in an interview that something inside of him said "DON'T DO IT" It had to do with Ozzy's crazy partying, for Schenker had a bad drinking problem himself
By far the most inspired performance of the night. Well done Nuno. No disrespect to the teacher and young student but was really hoping someone better would have taken the song "Tonight" to hear what I believe is Randy's best solo (the outro).
Thank you soooo much for uploading this! I sooooo wanted to be there but couldn't. It's so good to see him perform! I wish I could've been there LIVE but this will do for now. Thanks again!

This isn't merely a rock song, it's a masterful musical composition period.
Agreed
Its a classical metal masterpiece.....
Damn straight
Absolutely agreed
It is a beautiful peace of art
I cant believer it took my 9 years to find this video! One of the best renditions Ive heard! Does Randy justice without losing Nuno.
Nuno is a great guitar player who
can do it all. Cool to see him pay tribute
to another great player.
No one can be Randy but Nuno does a beautiful tribute here! Chills down my spine!
a player who did Randy some justice !
I can watch Nuno play all day long
I'm guessing that Nuno is a Randy Rhoads fan. He nailed this song. Best performance I've seen at these RR Remembered concerts.
Nuno is just such a badass... Nice tribute🔥
🤘😎
Gonna say- The best Randy Rhoads cover I've seen ever. Much respect to the dedication put forth in bringing this masterpiece to a live stage again AND being played as tight to the original as it can get. Yes. Well done.
Long Live Randy Rhoads!
by far my favorite performance of the night. Nuno is amazing
I've probably watched this 10 times. I just love Nuno's playing on this. Totally freaking awesome!!
He knows better than to go into business with Sharon.
Amazing Randy Riff and Nuno is always perfect.
You got that right pal!!
AMAZING playing by NUNO !!!! One of the BEST !!!!

Wow....perfect guitar playing! Not over doing it, note for note, and looks great playing
Hats off to Nuno. Fantastic job considering this piece wasn't written to be played on one single guitar.
Then how did Randy play it live? I'll tell ya how. With one single guitar.
Hats off to Nuno!
Randy never played it live.

Makes you appreciate Nuno even more!
prob most underrated guitarist but he is amazing man a real guitarists guitarist
beautiful...keeping this extraordinary music alive by playing it perfectly, doing it the justice it deserves

Best studio song ever! R.I.P. Randy Rhoads
God I love Nuno! Awesome to see him doing this...
Such a killer player! I always thought he is like EVH on steroids... A few years back I did some interviews with him, great guy, very humble! As he said, De Martini and Lynch were huge influences for him.
We love you Nuno, perfect touch and feel !
I hope they release this on DVD. This kicks ass!!
As far as I know, they are recording a whole CD.
nuno bettencourt , is great!

On that Extreme album; forget about it.
@inspectorbudget , Extreme is back! 2023! New album is awesome 👌
Wow. I'm not a huge nuno fan... Don't get me wrong he is amazing and a guitar icon. But this is absolutely beautiful. Long live Randy Rhoads!!!!
great playing Nuno !
and great band !
Gives me the chills. Randy's superior talent in writing this song transcended any music in the early 80's. It's masterful and will last forever.
Blown away by how great this sounds !
Them tunes especially from diary of a madman are extremely complex and layered guitar making them difficult to pull off live, hats off for those that do.
I like Randy and I like Nuno too, great to watch and listen, thanks!
Excellent! Nuno keeps the integrity if the composition yet makes it feel as if he's played the track for a lifetime.
Love 5:39 where Nuno squeezes in one of his signature licks..
So sick!! Bummer that I missed this, I live nearby.
Props to Nuno for celebrating one of the greatest guitar players to ever breath life upon this planet.... R.I.P. Randy Rhoads.... Your gift of music is now and forever eternal.... 🤘
NB is the best beast on the guitars. What a sound and feel..
One of the best albums of all time, imo 🤟😎🤟 RIP Randy
One of the greats. Nuno. I don't listen to him much anymore but, these pop up and he's just a monster... phenomenal player
That Washburn guitar is beautiful!!
Nuno is an amazing natural player. Really appreciate his style!!
Interesting take on a great tune. Mr. Bettencourt does an admirable job.
wow sounds great
Truly awesome. To be able to play in the style of another guitarist is a special talent and Nuno has that in spades. Hell, even Randy never played this live.
Nuno from Medford Massachusetts my home State
Singer not knowing the song aside, fucking Nuno KILLING it with his touches on the solo and those awesome "key board like swells" @5:45-6:05
We miss you Randy
God DANG I love Randy with Ozzy. We got robbed of so much amazing guitar work. He was just starting to develop this style when he passed.
10!
5:05 one of the greatest riffs in rock and roll!
And fun to play to boot...
Ken P agreed fantastic riff
😂 Nuno is the Greaest.
Randy, you was such a good guy and you re gone much tooooooo early, We love you too much, for ever!!!#Tommy from munich/ Germany
Nuno , I love your solos❤❤❤
Nuno as Ozzy's guitarist. Now that would be something.
He would just get screwed over by Ozzy & Co, so for Nuno's sake I hope he never meet Ozzy at "the crossroads".
George Lynch tried out twice for Ozzy. I always thought that would be interesting.
Micheal Schenker was offered the position, but Schenker said in an interview that something inside of him
said "DON'T DO IT" It had to do with Ozzy's crazy partying, for Schenker had a bad drinking problem himself
Would have sounded great but Schenker would have drunk himself to death!
odgeUK
Yeah, he got bad for a while I hear. That is the reason why the Scorpions got rid of him. He sobered up though
Great cover ,Nuno and PhilX also great guitarist in there own right!!we dont have many left!!Rock On Brothers dont let sampling's take over!!
❤oh,i live his Guitar style.😅
awesome! way to remember one of the greats! RIP Randy!
Nuno so perfect.
A master paying tribute to a master.
I seen Randy Live 10 feet in Front of me and EVH And many others Randy was king!!!!!
This guy f***n rocks. all time favorite on Nuno B. great guitarist.
Awesome video! Nuno has always been one of my faves....
What a complicated piece to play and sing. Great job both. Nuno never ceases to amaze! Great job to whomever shot this video - well done you!

Perfect Nuno!
Nuno Bettencourt is a damn good guitar player. One of the best.
Masterpiece amazing job Nuno
Forgot all about this one. Hair is standing up on the back of my neck. Wonderful.
Great Feel Nuno! Randy would be proud! I’ve never seen anyone cover Diary of a Madman! But I feel Ozzy’s influence on this too, is paramount!
Great Tribute to Randy! Love Nuno!! I would have loved to hear it with Gary Singing it instead.
Nailed it🤘🤘🤘
Awesome!!Real Mad Playing !
Volume swells at the end of the main solo. Wow. Great improv!!
By far the most inspired performance of the night. Well done Nuno. No disrespect to the teacher and young student but was really hoping someone better would have taken the song "Tonight" to hear what I believe is Randy's best solo (the outro).
Nailed it !!
This Is Awesome!
Leave it up to Nuno to pick the most difficult Ozzy song to play. Nuno is awesome
Nuno simply can do no wrong. This much is obvious
Amazing! Nuno!!!!
Nuno is so good. He kind of is a hybrid of Rhoads and Van Halen but has his sound. That funk he does is awesome.
amazing!
Thank you soooo much for uploading this! I sooooo wanted to be there but couldn't. It's so good to see him perform! I wish I could've been there LIVE but this will do for now. Thanks again!
5:23 omg yes...❤️🔥
