My issue is now incomplete the packs feel for how expensive they are... and also the insane amount of features that don't work right upon release and sometimes never get fixed
All of it. I have spent every penny, purchasing everything as soon as it's released. And probably much more with patreon and the simsresource subscriptions. I love the game, have been playing since 2001.
Great video! My take: In a perfect world, I'd rather there be less DLC that's more fleshed out. Given the reality of things, I'm ok with the quantity of DLC as someone who has been playing since the early days of TS4 and therefore the cost has been spread out over all those years. As someone new to it, I feel for them - it's a lot of money to get all packs and could be overwhelming.
10 expansion packs at 40 each 3 game packs at 20 each 8 stuff packs at 10 each 16 kits at 5 each 620 usd total (i’ve gotten most of them on sale or through playstation membership but if it was full price, that is the price)
I honestly think it’s genius to make packs because base game is sooo vanilla when building and customizing your sims. The variety of pets, careers, and going on adventures is what makes me want to buy the packs I’ve personally never bought kits or add ons but they all seem really fun and could add a really cool twist the only thing that threw me off with sims is when they switched from origin to steam i lost all my packs mind it was only 120$ worth i was devastated to find i had to start all over and lost everything I’m truly fearful to indulge in the game because of this. My favorite aspects of the game is the creative personalitys of the sims how well you can create relationships and memories. I love building and creating style around my sims worlds to best suit my style and the ability to play offline is what dose it for me the most! It can be played anywhere!
What is a very interesting issue is those EA "Gamechangers" do not have to pay for their packs. As a result, what they tell us isn't from an unencumbered, honest appraisal because they want to KEEP getting their packs FREE. Just one of my personal takes. Added - (Oh, forgot to mention that I have personally purchased every pack and kit, except 2 , please don't ask).
with 84 packs, im sure they could have put some of them together to get a proper EP. cottage living, horse ranch, and maybe eco living could have been one pack. i also think that having some items from a major pack (lets say pets) in horse ranch, you could have had a sheep dog or something???? idk, my gripe with sims 4 is that the whimsy and fuckery that made the sims fun took way too long to be implemented, as someone who has been playing since sims 1. its starting to get fun again and I'm happy about that
i've bought kits at full price but they never go on sale and i don't have many of those. i bought the base game for $5 on sale in 2018 and it came with Seasons for another $5. i think that was through humble bundle. i've bought 2 expansion packs full price, cottage living and for rent, all others i've bought on different sites for discount usually 60-70% off. i couldn't tell you an exact amount i've spent on DLC but i can guarantee it was less than half the price of all the expansion packs
I think I spent full price on every pack building pack because I don’t have cas Sim kits unless they were gifted to me and that only one the retro fit kit
I have all the EPs, all but two GPs, all the SPs and all but 2 kits. I buy them as they're released. I started playing TS4 at the top of 2015. I've spent a lot of money, but it's been over 10 years. I only buy what I want and know I'm going to play.
I purchased 3 expansion packs when they were on 60% sale discount. Cost me 48 euros, which is a lot. I am waiting for expansion packs to be worth 10 euros which is what their price should really be
I only have the base game, and technically didn’t even pay for it because I was 14 and it was a birthday present…. I set sail 🏴☠️ and got the 84 packs/kits Jack Sparrow style. The game is way too mediocre to justify paying all that money imo
Considering how much fun I have in the game and that I plan on playing it for the rest of my life, it's worth the investment to me. Not a fan of how features we used to get in a $40 pack are fragmented into multiple packs though. Even when considering inflation and all that just doesn't seem right. If Project Rene turns out to be a bunch of mobile-esque micro transactions, that'll be a hard no for me. I'm looking forward to new life sim games that'll hopefully push for more innovation in the genre, especially the indie ones without shareholders to appease. 😅

I wish the packs were of the same quality as the previous generations

This is why Anadius is the savior of The Sims community. Seriously tired of EAs price gouging and microtransactions >_>

Great breakdown. I don't get all the packs, just the ones that interest me the most.

"ha! got em!"- EA
😂😂💀
🏴☠ This is THE game to sail the seas for. Unbelievable to me that anybody pays for this.

I like the different options. I know that I don't have every pack but at this point I've lost count 😂

So you bought the sims 4 base game when it was 59.99!! wow
@Nardvillain I think I got the deluxe for $69.99
@ oh nice!

I always thought the prices were fucking ridonkulous. I slowed down A LOT in the last few years except for the kits
Will not by buying any more. I'm done. I feel let down.
Dag Dag 💚🎉🤑
