Fuzz, I just started playing FFXII Zodiac Age for the first time. I know, late to the party but better late than never. 😅 I got lost for 20 mins+ in The Great Crystal but then saw your video guide. Thank God! I absolutely hate that death trap of a maze but following your video(s) step by step, frame by frame, I was able to get through it! Fun fact: I got confused at the blue save crystal & wound up getting surprised by Ultima- unprepared! 😂 Talk about a shock! 😱 I was able to finally adjust & kill Ultima by the skin of my teeth, thanks to my Red Mage with her Yagu Darkblade + Black Robe (50% boost to Dark Magic/Attacks) + White Hat (immune to Holy). She solo’d the last 20% of Ultima by herself. Ultima’s HP melted. Thank God for my Red Mage! 😂 Anyway, thank you so much for the great guides and walkthroughs. People still love this game and some are playing for the first time like myself (on my Nintendo Switch OLED). Keep up the good work and thanks again! 🙏

Squenix really wanted you to get a pen and paper and map this shit out. I applaud the intricate design, and the sheer amount of trial and error the people who made this video and other maps had to go through. That said, imagine if this was fun enough to actually warrant doing by yourself? Is it better that it is not fun and difficult because you get lost so easily? Or would it be better if it was easier? I don't think The Great Crystal would have left much of an impact if it wasn't so... ridiculous.
JJSSEEJ Believe it or not in Vanilla ff12 i did it all in my head, no map no guide. Now a few years later i both mapped the place on paper and used this video guide after to make sure i didn’t miss anything. It’s a crazy asf place but like you said without all that craziness it would lose a lot of its identity. Very nice place to hide the most powerful gear and weapons, and spells, and the most beautiful aeon and on top of it a farken op boss. They really did a number on this one!

7:55 if you are interested on how to get Hastega and Artemis Bow, starting from Blue Save Crystal near Ultima. Just make sure you already unlocked correct Libra and Virgo gates.
From where you save at blue crystal if you save you Vs the esper if you decide to go north. Use dark magic she is so easy and use esper 13 super effective against her
Thank you sooo much for this guide. It helped me greatly. I was able to kill Ultima first shot. All my characters were 60+ but I ended up using all my rez items. I'll try Omega later using your strategy.
I hadn't touched this game since middle school and you just saved my ass so hard. Ugh. I had completely wiped this whole horrid dungeon from my memory and as soon as I came down here and saw the giant golden crystal and the green void I was just like "Oh...right..." And then sighed and googled a walkthrough. Thankfully yours was incredibly concise. I do not look forward to reverse engineering the path straight to Omega once I come back after beating all the hunts...but that's a future me problem I guess.

Finally... Thank you thank you thank you thank you... I needed both Hastega and Ultima for multiple trophies to pop. Those upper gate switches we're really confusing. Took me about 10 minutes to realize I was going in circles. Your updated guide help tremendously as initially the Virgo gate was locked for me

I turned the wrong way and ended up triggering Ultima. Thank God we were all Level 70+ but man it was still hard

You only need 3 chops to progress...
Go to the chop master and you can buy 1
@@Jimmymatthewb to fill out the archades map you need 28 to get a sandlewood chop which grants access to upper archades

In my youth Yazamat was less time consuming than the crystal. Managed to get the zodiac shield though without internet tips
